the cheapest and quickest solution i did was stick a layer of scotch tape around the stylus, just under its neck.

Evening all,
I've seaarched the web, and I have found nothing. Anybody know where I could source a replacement battery door or tthe entire bottom plate?
It's been discussed, search for the "get rid of scratches" thread, or use http://mobile.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03131.

Thanks, but I already saw that...I am trying to find just the battery door or the baseplate. Spending 90 odd dollars for a $1 piece of plastic bothers me.
what is broken the flap or the door itself?
cause my flap is broken
My Flap is broken...
Anyone have an elegant solution or replacement part? The front bottom has warped with use and has come loose from the device, it would be nice to have a smart / tested way of dealing with that issue as well. I hate to take the time and experiment, but for what it's worth I would definately like to find a case with spare parts...
Thanks...

Hey guys, first of all great forum. Anyway I was wondering if any of you guys get a small creaking sound when you tilt your screen up and down? Its really sad but these things kinda bother me. thanks
I don't, my tilts up fine. Your hinges could be getting rusty.
anyones tilt doesnt stay tilted??? =) like u tilt it up and then it will go back down..
no sounds
get it checked
is the mechanism adjustable as this may help....I would like to adjust mine because when I hold the case when it's closed it will go slilghtly ajar and seems like it should be tighter. Does anyone know how to adjust these?
Ok These are Springs that cause all this, the creaking, the ajarness.
And If I can offer some advise. If you do go trying to replace this part, which you can do. Please wear eye protection.
Lol replacing those would probably be hard and not a good idea, Tytn II looks to have a pretty complicated body.

LOL, so funny. I recently received a replacement Tilt, and it had the creaking like you mentioned. I thought I was being crazy, but it really bothered me, so I called them and had them send a new replacement out. The new one no longer creaks, and
I feel much better

Yeah, mine got really loose and wouldn't stay up, and it was also really sloppy, i.e. the screen would wobble back and forth when it was open. As it turned out I was able to fix it myself by popping the unit open, and inside the body there are 4 screws (once you get to them) that hold the hinges in and control their tension. I tightened the screws and have had no problems since. I got the disassembly instructions from the Wiki, they were in Russian but the pictures were explicit enough.
Ok, I am considering ordering a new housing for my X1.
Ive searched and searched the forums for this and found (surprisingly) that no one has brought this up yet
I watched the SE document detailing the disassembly and reassembly of the X1. I decided to try it myself to see if I was capable of doing it before ordering the new housing. I got all the way to the part where you start peeling **** off and got scared and had to put everything back together (and did it successfully I might add)
So I was wondering, in the tech spec it says to discard these things. Obviously this is not an option since I dont have another one to reattach later.
How hard is it to carefully peel off these things and reattach them later the way they were?
Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement of these things?
Has anyone done this successfully that can give any insight or tips as to how to go about this?
I have found some conductive fabric for sale but the one used in the tech video seems to be specially tailored for the X1.
Please help, any help or comments would be appreciated!

you just put them back on.. it's not that tricky.
I've never had a problem with any phone I've ever worked on.. just take 30 seconds to make sure its all lined up correctly.

Ok thanks for the input. Now I feel a little better about it. So you HAVE done this for the X1?? or just other phones?
Screwing and unscrewing I am perfectly fine with, but when I have to start peeling **** i get uncomfortable.

I've done repairs on touch pro's and touch diamonds, I can't imagine they are too different from an X1.
just make sure you don't place them sticky side down on anything and use tweezers so none of the oils on your fingers get on the sticky side.
hii people i need some help here i have bought a samsung galaxy s with a broken screen glass thinking it would be cheap and easy to replace just the glass, and i have bought the glass from ebay and can tear down the phone but i dont know what to do when i get to the screen how do i seperate it and is their a touch layer under their or what and if anyone could suggest any good tutorials or pictures to help me understand then that would be great because it is not as easy as it seems lol :/ and please dont suggest that i buy a new screen all together because i do not have enough money and i might aswell buy a new phone for the price of an AMOLED lol thnx and plz feel free to PM me
You're wrong from the very beginning
The hardest part to separate in the Galaxy S is the AMOLED screen and the gorilla glass
because they are strongly attached together. It would be very hard if not impossible to separate them without damaging the AMOLED screen
i had this problem but there is help .. i for one done it the hard way and cracked the glass more on the screen very hard to do .. then picked it away with a very small metal pick . look at one of my posts its on here and trust me can be done and then it gets a bit harder putting new glass back on as one the touch dont work right but dw that can be sorted first buy a really thin screen protector then lay that on then lay the new glass over that and touch works fine .. hope this helps but there is a high level of one skill and to a real big risk of fakin up ur screen when picking away at it ..
thnx thats gave me allot more confidence and hope in doing this and succeeding thnx u have inspired me to actually attempt it and i myt aswell because if it works then iv done it the cheep option and if i dont try il never know if the cheap option is possible and achieveable and could uu post a link of your thread please so i can read it much thnx

how did you crack the gorilla glass more what tool did you use and how plz reply need help thnx
I'm in your same situation, and the solution that daleford2k10 proposes sounds great.
But I have some questions to ask you:
1) Where did u get the glass replacement?
2) What about the touch buttons (menu and back)? Because as I have seen in some disassembling videos they are strong glued. It is possible to get out (or break) the glass above them?
3) Did u tried with a hair-dryer first?
Thanks for your help

iv not tried anything yet as the hair dryer is concerned i got my glass from ebay
www (dot) ebay (dot) co (dot) uk/itm/Front-Glass-Lens-LCD-and-touch-screen-not-included-Samsung-Galaxy-S-i9000-/170739151176?pt=UK_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item27c0d8b148#ht_2226wt_1270[/url]
but i dont know if you are a uk resident but you can get it from Hong Kong too and im taking it easy asin trying to get as much info as possible first to do this before i do it oh and i dont think the buttons will cause that much of a problem and anyway if they do break but the screen doesn't its still a win as the buttons would only cost abit and i have also seen some disassembly videos but none separating the glass if you have could you post a link thnx
Finally I got the glass from ebay (the same one as the guy of this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21224865&postcount=238), but delivered from Hong Kong.
I haven't been able to find any videos of this neither... But as both jondale and devonblue4u say, I think it would be just a question of patience and being careful.
Good luck! As I think you will receive your glass first than me (it's going to take around 15 days according to the seller), please post some photos or videos once u do it.
success?
i am about to buy a SGS 1 smashed, but any of you two guys succeed in replacing the glass ONLY? i know i have just bought a dead thread back lol but sorry need to know. thanks
I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that it was done successfully once, but the person who did it had access to the glue used for sticking the screen to the glass, so he wasn't normal by any means. My suggestion? Suck it up and get both the screen and the display. The glass was not meant to be replaceable on its own.
I'm in the process of replacing mine. You can get the glass separated from the amoled using lots of patience,a heat gun, and very thin plastic of some sort. I used a variety of things including a business card, credit card and a very thin steel flat mrasuring tool. The key is heat and moving slowly. Lots of videos on youtube. when you are done there will be lots of glue on the screen, but it comes off by carefully rubbing it. Also, as crazy as it sounds wd40 gets rid of the rest. Saw this on youtube and was skeptical, but tried it and it worked. Cleaned the amoled with rubbing alcohol afterwards. I'm currently using my S with just the amoled while I wait for the new glass too arrive. Also, with the new glass, you won't put glue on the amoled, but around the outsides - again, youtube is yourfriend.
Hello guys, I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 ...

Hi,
So my USB flap cover was ruined and I needed a new one..
At local stores they offered some serious expensive solution so I ordered a set of covers from eBay instead and installed it on my own..
I simply pulled out the old one and pushed inside the new one.. It has a flat hook end so it can go in but no out.
Any way it was a Chiny crap and it felt bad and didn't close tight like the original so I ordered another set.. this time original.. (both sets were still less than half of the price the local store wanted).
I tried to install it the same way only this time I pulled out a chinese one and not original..
The difference was that the original was streched out until it came out while the chinese one was teared off and the hook part (about 1mm cube) was left inside..
I tried to flip the phone and tilt it so it will come out but that was impossible..
So I installed the new one on it while the piece is still inside..
Apparently the slide hole for the flap's wire is super accurately messured for exactly the total length of the wire..
So minus the stucked piece length, I have no enough space to close the leed sealedly..
Well it can be closed if I push hard and 'curve' the wire inside.. But thats not good solution..
I tried to think how could I get it out..
One obvious solution is to disassemble the phone and take it out but thats way too complicated for DoItYourself at home..
Perhaps you could help me get a better solution as for I only want to take that piece out and theres an easy port to push it out from.. Only its fatter than the port and I cant push it or pull it..
Creative ideas would be super appreciated!
Explaining picture of the flaps..

U can open the back panel and get it out of the phone...
But it is time consuming and risky...

I've seen some disassembly videos on youtube.. theres no way i'm gonna do it on my own.. first I will ruin the waterproof.. and second it all glued inside so i will ruin that too..
also I've seen some deep disassembly videos where they dig inside from back to display and they haven't reached the port hole..
Im not sure how to get there and thats too deep inside.. if I ever give up and go for that option Ill let the experts do it..
I believe theres a way to get the piece out via the outside port hole..
well apparently my tablet's camera with the big 10.1 screen is much better than my lame eyes.. so I used it to see better and I also took some cool macro pictures..
here is my best idea so far.. I tried to fish it out with a twist tie shaped as a hook..
unfortunately that keeps slipping off of it.. any idea how to lock on it and pull it out?
Are there any extra thin tweezers \ pliers size of a twist tie? I have some tweezers which are my thinnest but they are still at least 5 times larger than the hole..
Share any thought, please..

Thank you,
thats what I already have.. the tip maybe fits in but it gets thicker imediately so I can't actually stick it in..
I have found even sharper than this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Adson-micro..._Equipment_Instruments_ET&hash=item2a2e1444a9
But I'm not sure that will fit either.. its expensive so I'll make some precise messurement before I order it..
I believe thats my only chance..
Thanks alot forall your help..

I think this does not work because the tip is ultra thin that it cannot hold the stuck piece with tighter grip...
U can try making hook like thing as u already tried.... With a stronger &thinner wire....maybe it's works.
