SPV M2000 changing language from English to French - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Hi guys, I am totally a newbie on this, i only bought my SPV M2000 today.
Ok well it is:
Code:
OP Ver. 5.40.1.179
Rom Ver. 1.40.00 WWE
ExtRom Ver. 1.40.179 WWE
I have downloaded the file
ftp://forum.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/Extended_Roms/Orange_Fr_SPVM2000_Ext_ROM_142179_WWE.rar
from the FTP.
Once extracted in winrar, i put the whole folder into my Memory card and run the Autorun.exe
It does some installing but then the following message comes up:
Code:
the file "\windows\iacontacts.dll" is in use or is in ROM. If the file is not in ROM, please close the application using the file"
would somebody pelase give me a step by step on this?
the phone is unlocked by the way and is on orange

could any onehere help please? at least with a tip

i would suggest getting the latest whole ROM from orange france, i will upload a version that will include radio 1.13 and will work with your UK device.

try this: Removed/Uploads/Blue%20Angel/orangefr_upgrade.exe
just run the .EXE
EDIT MDAIIIUser
File removed so below

you're a star man, that was the best help i got so far.
it worked like a charm. thanks bro

The orangefr_upgrade.exe is the same CE and EXT rom as found on wiki
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=47465
The olny differnece is the Radio has been upgraded to 1.13.10 (also found on wiki).
Thus this is a Baked rom and I have removed it from the ftp site.

um, yeah. i made it for him.

QTEK 9090 change ESP to WWE

I need help, please!
I got a Qtek 9090 in Spanish and I would like to have it in English.
I tried to follow the steps described in
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_GettingStarted
but I cannot find what version is the one I need to download.
The Device Data I have is the following:
model no: PH20B
minor version model no: 0 B
language code: ESN
minor: N
operator code: DANGA304
rom version: 1.22.03
minor: 0 3
extended rom version: 1.22.132
radio version: 1.06.00
minor: 06.00
Can anyone tell me if there is a WWE version I can download to upgrade my device into English language?
Thanks for help
Matoha
wiki has a new topic.
How to upgrade to the latest rom
Have you read it?
Yes, I checked that topic and that is where I found the steps I need to follow to upgrade my qtek. However, I need to find the right version to download it and install it in the phone.
In the topic they explain that the version has to be higher than my rom version and my radio version and I don't find any WWE file that has a rom version higher than 1.22.03 and radio version higher than 1.06.00.
Does it exist? Where can I find it?
Thank you for your help.

Download the I-Mate 1.40 WWE Rom.
thank you for your reply,
but, please, can you tell me what is the difference between the i-mate, qtek and dangaard version. Remember I have a qtek 9090, is the i-mate version the best for me? I am afraid of doing something wrong that can ruin my phone.
Thanks again
Matoha
Its all in the ext rom, check wiki, read about the ext rom, have a look at the ERK of those 3 roms.
Well, changing the language of your device is not supported and will void the warranty of your device anyways, so it doesn't matter which carrier's rom you put in.
Personally, save the same problems as the other 1.40 roms, and with the solution I found to the GPRS problems, the i-mate extended rom is the best, especially for someone who likely will not be cooking a custom one.
Hi guys,
I downloaded the i-mate version and I followed the steps, extracting the files, changing the fix.bat but when I run the upgrade I get the following error:
error 123: radio image file checksum error. the rom image file to be used for the update is corrupt. Download the correct rom update and try again.
Is it because any of the passwords in the fix.bat is wrong?
Is it because I should use another rom?
I tried with the Qtek and Daangard versions and I always reach to the same point.
Any idea?
Thank you
Matoha
Did you try the first method outlined here?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_1.40.00_Upgrade
First Method (Quicker/Easier, but not well tested)
1) Download update to desktop
2) Unrar or unzip all files in exe or rar into a new folder
3) Open the folder with the extracted files
4) Download this file: MaUpgradeUt_noID.ZIP (ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Tools/MaUpgradeUt_noID.zip)
5) Extract MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe from this file and place it with the other upgrade files.
6) Continue to upgrade as normal, except run this new exe file instead of BaUpgradeUt.exe
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
I manage to do it with TheLastOne explanations.

I'm glad I could help.
Enjoy the improvements of 1.40 (although limited, IMO).

Help upgrading O2 english XDA IIs

I have been all over this site and can not find a upgrade that works. I have rom version 1.31.00 WWE, Rom date 12/13/04, Radio 1.06.00 protocol 1337.38 extrom 1.31.139 WWE, PH20B. I am looking for a simple complete upgrade download. I have been reading all the instructions and I still have no idea what I am doing. I have download a number of version and they all come up with a language error. Sorry I just don't have a clue.
The Best and trouble free has been posted before, Look for the:
O2 Asia 1.4 ROM it comes with Radio 1.12 which you can update after.
Couple of points to help you on the way:
1- if the program (ba_o2asia_14000_923_11200_ship.exe) gives you device error, you need to extract the files and replace (BaUpgradeUt.exe) by (M)aUpgradeUt.exe) which is available on this site as well.
2- if you get device error don't disconnect just re-run MaUpgradeUt.exe again
it took me around 20min and my XDAiis is running like a dream
Hey ..... GOOD LUCK .....
I have change MaUpgradeUt.exe but is O2 mini.
Can not update .
What solution to do it.

Hochzeitsvideo ???
However, I tried last night to make my XDAIII work with the 1.40.01 ROM, but no way to upgrad that ****. I read something about to use instead of the "BaUpgrade..." the "MaUpgrad..._noID.exe" because sometimes we got some problems with "Country ID Error". I supposed to use the MaUpgrade exe-File with the 1.40.01 ROM Update, the proggi ask me if I want to upgrad from 1.31 to 1.40 ROM vers. and Radio from 1.10 to 1.13 - click OK. done. XDA screen's backlight flashed off and "USB" stands at the top and the Version at the bottom. Ok... after a few sec. the update proggi said: ERROR 120: Model ID Error .... your device isn't designed to work with this patch.
I don't know what tha hell 's goin' on with that thing. Because many other guys in our forum already done this.
do the flash in 3 steps
1) 1.40.1 CE
2) Radio following wiki.
3) Flush the extrom
The 1.40.1 is a type II rom and the radio is a Type I.
Make sure you only use the files that are posted and dont mix them around.
You also might be having problems as your device has a differernt Version Number (that is if you have a camera) thus you need the MA tool.
Hi,
I've done it yesterday night/today morning. I downloaded the vodafone VPAIII update and the Maupdate, extracted the exe to folder and packed the maupgrade in it. started maupgrade "ERROR 120: Country ID Error", aight, "EXIT" started program once more, works ! Great, now I have the 1.40.01 GER ROM and the 1.13 RAdio Version.
And a fully Vodafone branded o2 XDAIII
I'll de-brand it today night and install some of the o2 CAB's. But at the moment I'm thinkin' to installe magneto - not sure because of the per4mance probl.
thx !

Hi.
Sorry but I simply don't believe You spent 5 hours at wiki and not clicked this:
ftp://ftp.clubimate.com/PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200.exe
to get an update.
In case, your device is not exactly i-mate pda2k (but another Blueangel) you'll need to replace baupgradeut.exe supplied with above archive with the one I give you (to bypass country/device id check)
Good luck
oops.. delete
thank you very much, i tryed a very similar link to imate firmware on the BA begginers page but it dosnt work at all, i spent most of the time trying to get registerd properly at imate only to be told to go away as i dont have a imate branded device. thanks again i'll give it a go.

i have downloaded the file you added to replace the the one in the imate rom, will replace then add it to XDA, where is the dummys guide to installing this particular ROM? i'll look again on the wiki page.
There should be some kind of 'step by step' in BA's wiki.
But in truth, the process is very simple.
Just download file from i-mate. Run it. (It will extract files to directory specified). Replace baupgradeut.exe with the one I gave you and run it (baupgradeut.exe).
On screen step by step displays and tells how to put device in bootloader mode and place in cradle etc.etc. simple
have fun

Downgrade from AKU3.5 to Original ROM...HELP PLEASE!!

Hi.
I'm having some serious problems running WM5 on my SPV M2000 (Blue Angel). Internet Explorer keeps crashing, doesn't browse...bluetooth isn't recieving files from my PC, camera closes on its own, MSN Mobile not working at ALL...etc.
I want to remove this AKU3.5 ROM and return back to my previous WM2003SE ROM from Orange or even Imate. I downloaded the Orange V2.5 ROM update but failed to initialize the update process since the Country ID was incorrect for some odd reason.
Guys can you please help me out of it. Just tell me the safest and easiest way to downgrade back to the original ROM. And is possible that when i downgrade, i can install the Imate PDA2k ROM on my Orange SPV M2000?
I'd really really appreciate your help. Looking forward to your replies!
My device information details are:
ROM version : 5.04.09.WWE
ROM date : 11/02/06
Radio Version : 1.13.00
Protocol Version : 1337.42
ExtROM version : *empty* (blank)
i would make use of wm5 maupgrade_noID utility to flash the .nbf file of wm3 back to the original rom.

Yeah hi. Thanks for the reply, could you please give me a step by step procedure how am i suppose to do it? Where do i get the files from and how do i go about it.
I'd be grateful man!
As i see you use helmi aku 3.5 rom.
when u extracted the file out of the zip file u initially downloaded, u should see a folder name PH20B1. It includes maupgrade_noid utility there.
so basically what u do is extract the original rom (nk.nbf) into that PH20B1 folder, then put your device to bootloader mode, flash it as normal.

Actually i didn't install Helmi AKU3.5 ROM. I bought my phone used, and had this rom already installed. Now i want to get back to my original factory ROM. And i can't seem to get how to do it
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Upgrades
link above lists all the original rom for each device / operator.
please see the attachment, it's the utility to upgrade.
for further information please read wiki though.
Thank you imatrix. Will go through the link you provided. Thanks for all your help!
By the way...is it possible for me to flash an Imate ROM on an Orange SPV M2000? I find Imate ROMs more stable than Orange.
ooo?/
I think, you will have a serious problem wwhen you go back to wm2003 mate.. you're bluetooth will be useless, I don't know why and how,,.. I tried wm2003 downgrade last time, and I was worried because when I try to turn my bt on, it keeps may saying that the bluetooth software is expired..bla..bla..and I can't turn my bluetooth on.. though I haven't tried installing abt stack, but I guess same thing will happen.. but its for you to find out.. theres a very comprehensive details on downgrading/upgrading roms on blueangel wiki.. to get rid of that country I'd error, just use maupgradeutnoid.exe which you can also download from there
