Hi Guys,
I am trying to flash my rom from Asia to Qtek. I have read that i need to convert the exe to usable form. I have been reading the wiki but, just cant seem to be able to do so.
just extract the exe file with a zip program
ermm.. extract from any zip program ?? i dont get u dude.. I have got the
.exe file btw, when i run the baupgrade.exe, it says device data error. i have edited my editfix.bat. When i run the .exe file direct, it says country id error.
i also used the new type I tools still, no luck
Whats meant by "convert the exe to usable form", is the exe file you download, well the upgrade exe file
I-Mate_PDA2k_French_14002_167_11200.exe this you can extract with zip.
If you download a TypeII rom, you should be able to use the MaUpgradeUt_noID file descriped here
If you download a TypeI rom, then use the xda3nbftool.exe to modify the rom to match your devicedata.exe.
Note that you must have the correct Rom password to get correct out come using xda3nbftool.exe.
Search Forum for password for the desired Rom

Can anyone try to extract the rom to figure out how can it work on our Touch HD?
u can try this.
check in my signature for links.
Under romeos_sources/OEMpacks
if u want to cook in ur custom rom, the social network engine oem pack is there. If u just want to use it, extract all files to windows dir in ur device & import the reg (*.rgu) file using total commander or any registry editor. (rename it to *.reg for easier importing)
good luck.
Hi, exist any "how to" cook ROM for our Treo750? I'd like to try make my own ROM.
?
any ideas? somebody?
Customize ??
I only know how to customize rom by use exists rom maybe Ruu_signed.nbh or Cheeimg.nbh .
By reading from wiki XDA http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_ROM_kitchen because of Treo750 base on Hermes.
if you want to know how to do , what to do read it from ROM Donalds topic but you can choose any tool for me prefer and (almost) use Want more Storage? Here you go! it has batch file to do all process and 'der hermes rom koch' is good for edit all hv file (hv file contain all registry setting for me I prefer to do after flash by mortscript so I only use batchfile).
Please notify once we use exists rom it mean (for me) we only use to add file or remove file with normaly we can't remove it from rom by easy way such as delete by file explorer because of system will said you can't not delete system file in rom example for me I never use Powerpoint,OneNote so I decide to customize WWE 19199 by remove 2 file and some file and rebuild back to Cheeimg.nbh and after flash and boot I got 67MB free ram for storage and 29MB for Program.
IF you need to make new one from zero I still not information I try to search from google but just know a little due to Treo has square 240x240 and very few people use that seem to be hard to find an information and sure if I got it I will let you or anyone know.

For everyone who has an LG Quantum, I was finally able to extract the xip and imgfs from the stock rom and see what the insides look like. To do it, I modified the lgextract program, which was written for the LG KS20, whose rom image is similar in format to the quantum's. I will post my version of lgextract either later today or tomorrow for your amusement. From there, you can use the latest version of the htc rom editor to get the imgfs.bin and xip.bin. As of now, there is no way to piece it all back together for flashing, so custom roms are, unfortunately, not possible yet. The only annoyance (you could also call it a bug if you wanted to), is that you have to remove the rom header manually with a hex editor to make it work with the htc rom editor (but I am currently working on a version to do it automatically).
On another note, I did find out that the manufacturer program can read and write to the registry, so I could also write a program to view and edit the registry if there is enough need as to do registry editing on the quantum.
Update: I have fixed the program to do all the extraction automatically so you can automatically just open up the nb file in the HTC Rom Image Editor and see what goods are inside. However, there's still no way to create custom roms yet. As for the registry editor, I can't do anything until I get back in school and I have a chance to talk to the CS department at school about getting my quantum developer unlocked via Microsoft Dreamspark.

You can use the dz file found in one of the other LG Quantum threads here with the program. If you have any questions, feel free to post or pm me.

Very nice! Just a question, is this similar to using a hex editor to edit the seed files from the old razr phones? Or a registry editer like wm6.5? Just wondering.
can you update system files in anyway or read and wright or deleat registry edits?
I have a custom rom but I don't see what good it will do. if the bootloader is not unlocked.
might be able to copy parts of it over to the device but am unsure. can you sideload anything?:cyclops:
