Hi
What can I use to create a custom extened rom image files?
I have loaded the HA_TNZ_13500_117_01141.exe image onto my Blue Angel but I want to change the default celular modem connection.
I have downloaded same cab files off the FTP site but I don't know what program to use to create the ms_.nbf file.
I tried using the WM 2003 Image Editor but when I tried to load it onto the phone with BaUpgradeUt.exe I was told there was a checksum error.
Thanks

heya,
i downloaded my actual ROM from my MDA III useing the XDATools to my PC. I named the file to nk.nbf. When I start the BAUpgradeUt.exe then after a short check the following error appears:
ERROR 102: CE IMAGE FILE CHECKSUM ERROR
How can i correct this?
I used the latest TMA GER Update from T-Mobile. I changed some programs in the \Extended ROM\ Folder ... can this error come from this?
Pls help me
XdaTools is a backup utilitty just for HTC Wallaby series i.e O2 Xda, T-Mobile MDA, Siemens SX56... and not for the MDAIII (HTC Blue Angel series). You have to use another tool, mtty I guess
If you dump or flash a ROM to your PC, you can not simply name it *.nbf.
The dumped versions are all *.nba files, and need to be converted (=coded) to *.nbf files to work again with the BaUpgradeUt.exe tool.
Conversion goes via the xda3nbftool or by hand (XOR it).
Also not that your PDA has 3 ROMS...
I used the guide supplied here for updating my XDA IIs with the latest O2 firmware but still got the country ID error. After a bit of messing around I found that the following worked.
Download v131139 from:
Then download O2_Asia_14000_923_11200_SHIP from :
" ftp://xda:[email protected]_Updates/O2_Asia_14000_923_11200_SHIP/ "
Extract the downloaded zipfiles and the resulting *.exe files to their own folders so you get 2 folders with the following files:
BaUpgradeUt.exe
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
radio_.nbf
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
Now open the new O2_Asia_14000_923_11200_SHIP folder and edit the file RUU.conf with a text editor (Notepad) and add the following line to it
[CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1
After adding the line save the changes and close the text editor.
Still in the O2_Asia_14000_923_11200_SHIP folder rename "RUU.dll" (version 1.5.0.0) to "RUU.old".
Find the RUU.dll file (Version 1.4.8.0) that is in the Xda_IIs_v131139_upgrade folder and put a copy of it into the O2_Asia_14000_923_11200_SHIP folder.
Now put your XDA IIs into Boot Loader mode and place it in the cradle.
Run BaUpgradeUt.exe and hey-presto the upgrade will run correctly (or at least mine did and I'm running with no problems so far).
I guess that this process will also work with any other XDA IIs/BA ROM upgrades but i've not tried.
Hope that this is all clear enough.
Radio version,Protocol Version and imei disappear
Somebody please help me (sorry with my english, and i'm the newbie too)
after I was upgrade my xda ii s with the newest ROM,the first time its look success, then I install the software, when my xda soft reset for the 2nd time, at booting there "no GSM" then I look in setting>device information > the information about Radio Version and Protocol Version disappear. When I upgrade my Xda iis, I follow the intruction below :
Extract the downloaded zipfiles and the resulting *.exe files to their own folders so you get 2 folders with the following files:
BaUpgradeUt.exe
EnterBL.exe
GetDeviceData.exe
ms_.nbf
nk.nbf
radio_.nbf
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
Now open the new O2_Asia_14000_923_11200_SHIP folder and edit the file RUU.conf with a text editor (Notepad) and add the following line to it
[CHECKCEID_TYPE]=1

I have downloaded a T-Mobile Dutch Shipped Rom. It is a .bin file.
How can I upgrade my Qtek 9100 with this .bin file?
I tried some copy and paste work, but nothing works!
Who can help me?
where did you find it? I am desperately searching for this file.
I have it but it is not that like the other ROMS on the ftp, which upgrade automatically your MDA.
Here it is!
I just checked the file and it seems that its NOT a .bin file as cd image file.
Tried to burn it without luck and MagicISO gives an error its not a CD image file.
It's not a .Bin/.Cue file, it's a simple dump of the rom and has to be installed on your Wizard and not be burned on a cd.
pls tell me how to delete files included in ms_.nba image file?
it promted me to enter password when i use rom editor.
when i ran xda3tool-x,it released a nba file, and when i renamed the nbf file,it could not be read all the same, pls tell me how can i corect this
I found the following procedure the easiest way to cook my own extended rom:
Load the ms_.nbf file onto your PDA as supplied.
Then unhide the extended rom.
Then add or take away cab files to your hearts content!
Be sure to adjust the cfg.txt file accordingly
If you are using Tuma 1.3 then this rom will look to your storage card for EXTROM on boot up so you can always keep & edit a visible version of your extended rom here.
If you are using 2003 SE, just use the no ID installer on this site and be sure NOT to install ms_.nbf on your PDA when upgrading your ROM

Simon
