Upgrading from WM5_BA_Patched to WM5_pack_V1

Hi Mamaich, I am currently running ROM 5.03.02WWE with the patched nk.nbf. I have problems with running WorldMate Pro and WorldMate Expense. Both of them was successfully installed, but I am unable to launch each of the program. Hence, I was wondering if I should upgrade my ROM to the latest ROM WM5_pack_V1 and it would help with installing and running the WorldMate softwares. If it hepls, then do I have to 'Unhide & Unlock' and Repart_DOC my system. Bearing in mind that I am nolonger running WM2003SE, or can I just run BAupgradeut from the WM5-pack-V1. If Not, mut I downgrade back to WM2003SE first, and upgrade from Step 1.

you don't need to repartition DOC if you did it before. And if you flashed the patched ROM - you don;t need to reflash it, just do a hardreset (camera+record+reset button and select to clean registry and storage).
Maybe WorldMate soft is not compatible with WM5, I don't use it.

Thanks Mamaich, ran Baupgradeut from the PH20B folder, but it reported that this upgrade is not for your device type. I have a PDA2K device.
I used the WM5_pack_V1 to upgrade.

The rom and ce files are the same in the pack as in the other ba_patched.
I we just added the 2 dirs to make life on wiki easy.
I had reflashed my wm5 device to wm5 when I checked the instructions.
I am not aware of your problem however if other people can confirm it we need 2 update wiki.

I want take more Ext_ROM to 60MB or more,

You have to carefully follow WM2005 -> WM2003 migration process described in wiki. (here)
It is important that you do as told.
The internal flash needs to be reformatted to get some ExtROM.
In most cases 16 megs of ExtROM is enough (for using official WM2003 upgrades)
Read carefully and you'll do it.

extended rom not visible

Hi, I have a qtek9090 (as shown in my signature) and tried to upgrade to WM5 TuMa 1.3.
I followed ALL steps (also the steps to reformat extended rom), but at the end of the upgrade I am unable to see extended ROM and to install the applications. More I've a very slow device and a lot of sync problems.
Now I have rollbacked to WM2003 SE using the standard ROM, but I want know if there is a solution.
I think that your is a very very good job (porting WM5 on the BA) and that maybe all are problems due to my errors, but I read a lot on these forums but didn't found a solution. :?:

Yes, I did that. My extended ROM is visible until flashing ROM.
I'm using procedure described in

All the upgrade procedure goes smooth until step 8 (included step 5 copying EXTROM folder), but the step 9 doesn't happens and I can see only the "temp disk" folder as the storage.

Installing WM5 on imate pda2k

I have just brought a i-mate PDA2k and looking to install WM5 on it im thinking of going with
Helmi_BA_WM2k5_AKU3.5_v1.4.CF2
or
AKU3.5.2 R5 Rom Kitchen v2
I have read the wiki and thinking of going with AKU3.5.2 R5 Rom Kitchen v2 because it has a step by step install guide.
Another thing is i dont want to brick my device whats the posibility that this will happen ?

The Helmi_BA_WM2k5_AKU3.5_v1.4.CF2 is very easy to install, just put your device on "update" mode and run the update program.
The xplode AKU3.5.2 R5 Rom Kitchen v2 you can customize it, select what you want on your rom. The only thing you need a good computer to build the rom fast enough.
Basicaly they're the same.

One other thing i forgot to say is that is it easy to go back to wm2003 can i back up the wm2003 thats already on my imate before i try and upgrade to wm5
This is all i need to do isnt it
1. Put your device in Bootloader mode
2. Place your device to the cradle
3. Run software upgrade utility and follow the onscreen instructions
4. Perform WM5 Hard Reset

downgrading to wm5 from wm6.1

hey, after upgrading my charmer wm5 to wm6.1 it works a little bit slow than previous, so now i want my charmer back to wm5. can any tell me the step by step process of downgrading charmer to wm5 from wm6.1

running official RUU doesn't work?

Nothing will happen to your device, is the same process so go ahead, just READ the Wiki!

bro, i accidentally downgraded my atom exec WM5 to atom WM6.1...
when i attempted to have it back to atom exec WM5, there was an error (not applicable to your device)...
i tried to bring it back to its original atom exec WM5 but after several tries, it fails...
it stuck to "upgrade utility"...
how am i be able to bring my atom exec software back?...
am planning to upgrde to WM6 after...
pls help...
can i hv ur step by step advise?...
