I upgraded my phone to the newest ROM available on the site, 2.26, and my data connections are no longer interrupted by incoming phone calls. It worked like this before-- and I kind of need the functionality since I use the phone to test media streaming a lot.
I've been working with T-mobile, and they've been less than helpful, and eventually decided to send me a new phone. I only recently found this website, and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas.
I searched around a bit on the forum, but I haven't found anything. Any ideas?

So, I've unlocked my T-Mobile MDA G3 phone both CID and otherwise using loki. I've tried the T-Mobile update off their own site, and here is what happens. I suspect I need a different data cable, but I might be wrong there, so I figured I'd bring the issue to you all because you are the gurus of all gurus...type peoples.
So, here's what goes on. I download the software. I sync my MDA and my notebook. I ensure both machines are on and set to stay on. I check the connection and all is good. Heck, I've even backed up my MDA system using one of those backup utilities for Smartphones available online for trial download(which worked great, btw). So I run the software and click next and check everything it says the check and then it begins. This is where my problem begins and the goodness ends...
The MDA shuts off and just sits there. I don't touch it for fear of what might happen by being impatient, but every time, no matter which ROM I've tried to use for update purposes, the notebook pops up saying that it encountered a "communications error". It doesn't brick the phone, thank God. It simply just requires removal of the battery for 5-10 seconds after disconnecting the USB, then turning it on. It boots fine and all is good, except, no new ROM, same old 1.0.8.something version and bah!
I want to update my ROM and am stuck. I've tried at least 5 DIFFERENT ROMs and loaders and still the same thing.
I'm running the original T-Mobile ROM 1.0.8.something, IPL 1.X, and SPL 1.X. The phone says it's unlocked using the CheckLock program you can download from the forums, or elsewhere, I forget which. I've run the cidunlock with the loki tool multiple times and it finishes no issues.
If anyone has ANY ideas or thoughts, or even if they've run into this I'd like to know.
I'm pretty sure my phone right now won't do the whole A2DP via bluetooth bit, and that's what I'm REALLY wanting. I just got those Motorola HT820's and am anxious to play around with them more.
Anywho. You all rock and I've only been here like a day, but your information, walkthroughs, and just general geekiness(oh yeah, I work for the Geek Squad and we ALL use either the Verizon or Sprint version of the MDA, heh heh) have been most appreciated!

I have the T-Mobile MDA. I just upgraded from WM5 to Faria's "Real Thing" edition of WM6.
I'm terribly confused on what's going on with my phone right now. On my first flash the phone was really slow. I had no email, internet, phone wouldn't work, etc. I flashed the ROM a second time and things worked better. But I still didn't have internet, email or MMS. I could make phone calls though so I reckon that's progress. I did some digging around on this site and found a fix for the MMS problem. I can send emails as long as I'm USB connected to my laptop, otherwise it's receive only. The internet works now and the overall reception of the phone seems to have improved over my previous ROM flash from around 6 months ago. So it's not all bad news. For some reason I can't post ads for things I want to sell on Craigs List but I think that's a totally different issue. If I could just get this outgoing email problem fixed, I would be happy. Is there a setting or something that I overlooked or a cab file that I need? Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi everyone, I am new to this topic and have only spent more time reading some of the topics relating to Hard-SPL, Roms etc since I have a had an issue with a recent upgrade of ROM supplied via Vodafone.
I have upgraded from the shipped ROM version 1.37 to 1.97, since the upgrade i was impressed with the slight changes that Vodafone had made to the screen response, and dialer slider ... BUT... wasn't impressed with the fact I am now being charged to access Windows Live, and Hotmail.
I used to be able to sit at home and access my wireless and just check my mail, since the upgrade being connected to my wireless it still connects via GPRS.
I have spoken to Vodafone and expressed my dissappointment, and they did lower my Data plan, but still it doesn't resolve the issue that i had a service which changed without notification.
They asked me to just go by my usual usage under the GPRS for the next five days just to review my usage and see how much of an impact this would make, works fine under GPRS, just a bit miffed now I can't use a feature on my phone, anyway, I went back to vodafone after 5 days and told them that I hadn't been able to download anything through my GPRS i.e attachments on emails.
I am looking to try and get this back to normal with my connections, Vodafone told me to think about doing a HARD-SPL on my phone, to check the version and to upgrade it to my phone... I have read and read and read... Now I have guides on how to do it and understood what it is for I am now confused which version I should be going for and Which ROM, I'm very worried to 'brick' my Diamond, it's the best device I have had.
BTW... Vodafone said doing this wouldn't void my warranty... that has to be a lie!!?
So I was wondering if anybody could help me to find a Hard-SPL version, ROM, Radio version that I require to upgrade my Handset I would be most greatful.
I checked the information from re-booting my phone with the down volume button pressed and dispalys the following:
DIAM100 64M
SPL-1.97.0000
Many Thanks
Hi,
I have a Kaiser with the following Items:
ROM: 3.31.111.4 GER (downloaded from german T-Mobile Site)
Rom Date: 09/01/08
Radio: 1.59.42.15 (from here, more about it further down)
Protocolle Version: 25.83.30.07H
Here the Problem:
I used to have a Custom ROM on this Kaiser (see my previouse Posts) but since i had some Issues about GPS and so on i decided to go back to the original T-Mobile ROM and downloaded it from theyre german Website.
Everything seemed to be working nice till i noticed that i didnt get as many Calls as i used to.
I went to check my Amount i had left on my Prepaid Card by hitting *101# and send but all i always got was a Message saying *Session ended*, instead of my Amount on my Account.
So i tryed to make a Phonecall with my Kaiser but all i heard was like a Pianolike multitone Chirp in the Speaker.
So i deleted all the Programs i have added, like TOMTOM6, and some Games and i rebooted the Kaiser to find out i could make Calls again.
Shortly thereafter i noticed that this would happen every Time my Kaiser was in Suspend Mode/ Standby so i deactivaed this.
Today i noticed that it happened again even i still had Suspend disabled.
I have already called HTC here in Germany today and all the LAdy told me to try to flash the T-Mobile ROM again and see if it still does the same as it does now, and if so to go to a T-Mobile Shop.
I have looked on this great Site but since i have PC Issues at this Time as well as PPC Issues i cant read through the entire Kaiser Section, I am sorry.
I have already tryed multiple Radios from the BIG RADIO Thread, but no changes.
Does anyone know of any FIX of this, does anyone else have this Issue too?
I would be very Helpfull for any Solution because i really dont want to have them send it in, since i dont know which Radio was on it Stock, nor do i wanna be w ithout it for weeks if i can fix it somehow, even i would much rather have a Diamond in exchange for it (yeah i know i am a dreamer LOL)
Thanks in Advance for any Suggestions, Help or Solutions.
Hi guys, I really did search first, I promise. I have been having connectivity issues (not making calls, lost data connections, etc...) since I updated to the ATT Official Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM (3.57.502.2 WWE) with radio version 1.65.21.18. I am trying to determine if I need to upgrade my radio version. I found the thread with all the radio versions for my phone but don't know anything about them. I did get that I should try different ones until I find one that works for me. So do I need to install the HardSPL on my phone (or did the Official ATT rom upgrade do that already)? From there do I run that RUU.exe file on the desktop (or what)? It would be great if someone could put this in super simple terms for me.
Thanks in advance,
-Max
one word for your info, "WIKI"
I did look over the wiki for some time, here is my hang up. Jockyw2001 posted in an SPL thread that "SPL3.56 is part of the latest AT&T Rom which is dated June 6. 2008" So since I did the official ATT upgrade and my ROM date is 07/17/08, does that mean that I already have SPL 3.56 on my device? I can not find a post about how to determine what SPL version (if any) is installed on my device. If SPL is already installed, is there any danger in installing an older version of SPL or reinstalling one?
Thanks again
-Max

So you are saying that the stock rom and stock radio are not working correctly, no cooked roms or other carrier radios?
Did the problems start right after you updated?
Oh and your problem seems similar to the one in this thread here, well least is sounds similar to me anyways...

Yup, stock radio and rom as suggested by ATT, whom their customer service now claims they do not support WM6.1. I've never used a cooked rom and really only come here for device information and applications. I did have problems before I upgraded the rom but they have much worse since. The thread you posted is similar but they mostly talk about an "H" connection. I am in the DC metro area (USA) and get 3G all the time now, I wonder if that is part of the problem, I never get an EDGE network signal anymore.
Well... I just found THIS buried over on the ATT support forums

I guess we just got 3G network here. I haven't been able to make/receive calls for 5 days now. Tech support supposedly looking into issue. My phone switches bewteen 3G and EDGE constantly. Anyone else having this issue? What was the resolution? I don't want a refurbished Tilt if they can't come to a resolution (why would I want the same darn phone if it doesn't work well with 3G as advertised?) I have already drove 20 minutes to the nearest store for a new SIM card..which did no good. There isn't anyway of turning off 3G network unless I install software I have seen mentioned on this forum and well, I don't know about that...I paid for this phone to do what it said, and it isn't.

And this is the reply to it over there....

Common problem that can be either due to problems with the rollout or that the local towers cannot handle 3G as effectively or at a greater distance as the same tower could for Edge. These are some related threads and posts but there are a lot more. As noted in these posts if there is a local AT&T store run by AT&T then you might pop in and confirm some of the problems with them.

The tendency is to blame the phone but the reality is often different and that includes from customer support who offered to swap my phone several times but this obviously would not work because it affected many other users as well differing phone manufacturers and models.

Timing of it is close enough to make me wonder, but I had been using HSDPA.. But I have been getting the same problems you are talking about when the phone is set to 3g as well. The other thing that is starting to make me think its something ATT did to their network is that the OP from the thread that I linked on here lives 20 mins west of my location, and I am 15-20 mins north of DC... I may go to one of the local att stores and see what they have to say (tho that means for me that I get to flash my phone back to the stock rom )
