ROM Version - 2.26.10.2WWE
Radio Version - 02.25.11
ExtROM Ver - 2.26.10.105

you can use a browser called Opera for that from ww.opera.com ; there's a Java applet (free i think) that's called Opera Mini 2.0 from
from http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/operamini/campaign/
the one i use is Opera 8.60 for Windows Mobile 5.0 from http://www.opera.com/download/mobil... Pocket PC phones running Windows Mobile 5.0. . it has ALL the features of a regular browser: Java, Secure connections, file downloads, tabs, etc.. There's a 30-day evaluation version if you want to test it first.
Hope it helps!

JAVA + Tilt?

In my infinite wisdom, i removed all traces of java when i got my tilt and dont want to do a reset on it due to customization etc. I've not found a need for Java, specifically MIDP2 and JSR 82.
are there any cabs or windows based installers available for download for these? I havent been able to find them yet.
Read the MIDlet Bible:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=339577
and the guide to 3D java gaming on Windows Mobile:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ndows Mobile
(both credit to Menneisyys) and you'll find all the answers you'll need.
My suggestion? Use the modified version of Joedek with M3G support (it's around here somewhere, use that search function) for any 3D games and Jbed for non-3D java midlets such as Opera Mini 4. Good luck.

v8.65 for PPC works great here.
yep the PPC one is diffrent, its the high memory version.
so ppc version for smartphone correct?
What's the big advantage of Opera Mobile over Opera Mini? I like that Mobile is native, but Mini has the zoom in/out feature that makes it really nice to use. I heard Mobile 9 is going to have that feature, but is there some other reason to spend money on 8.65?
Seems like a big mix up in this thread.
You have a ppc , not a smartphone.
So download the ppc version.
And the high memory version refers to opera mini only!
Opera mini is not the same as opera mobile.
Opera mobile is a full stand alone web browser.
Opera mini is a java app , nice browser tho but a completely different program.
java would generaly performe worse then native pocketpc applications
but not sure if the compress pages thing of mini mean that it's load times are generaly better but the general performce is lower for java and also .net applications
prob less for .net as ms prob put some efford into making .net faster then the verious java midlets makers to save face

XMLHttpRequest with the Alpine

Hi,
I have an Alpine rebadged as an O2 XDA IIi. I'm developing a web form that uses ajax, and so I need to be able to use the XMLHttpRequest object. I know that IE supplied in windows mobile doesn't support this, but Opera mobile does.
However, having installed Opera mobile, my ajax powered form still doesn't work. Is it possible that the XMLHttpRequest object has been disabled in this model (a suggestion from the opera website), and if so, how can I enable it.
Thanks
Richard.

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.0.04506)
I have try to edit the windows mobile registry like readed in some site for change this UA but situation its the same... i have also readed that maybe i need to mod some dll... its that true? someone can help me pls?

Java on Windows Mobile 6.1??

Trying to get some google applications (like maps) running on the diamond and apparently windows mobile 6.1 isnt equipped with the Java runtime environment in order to run the applications.
I cant seem to find any information on getting java on this unit..
Anyone have any ideas? Or workarounds??
Thanks in advance!
Found a fix.. Use Internet Explorer to download Google maps. Opera prevents cabs from successfully downloading.
