Hello all, I want to use my wizard's camera as a webcam to do videoconference either via Wi-Fi connection? I don't think Skype offers this particular feature and if not, what are the other program can perform this function? For example, I want to do videoconference in a Wi-Fi hotspot area using this great phone.
Here is the solution you need but i lost the source
i tried this one and it worked

Hi, I know coolcamera makes the PDA as a webcam. But what I want is a software that I can use inside the PDA to conduct a videoconference without interferring with the PC.
I have checked the Skype Mobile which doesn't offer videoconference feature, I want to know if there are alternative.

does anyone know where we can find that VOIP softphone ?
This is quite the misleading topic...
this is interesting.. as far I saw skype has only audio for PPC.... i heard of MS Portrait.. that does audio and video... let me know how it goes,,,
It was a half year ago that Microsoft released the first beta of their VoIP / video phone / SIP program Microsoft Portrait. Microsoft has, in the meantime, released version 3.1.
I was very eager to check it out as 3.0 didn’t support front cameras on any Pocket PC’s, which would be essential for TCP/IP-based video phoning.
To make a long story short, unfortunately, the new version doesn’t support video phoning using front cameras either. It still only lists CAM1: (the rear camera) on all my Pocket PC models with two built-in cameras: the HTC Universal and the HTC Trinity (p3600). This is certainly bad news.
Furthermore, as far as the MS Smartphone compliance is concerned, it didn’t work on either the WM6 QVGA HTC Vox (s710) or the WM5 AKU3 HTC Oxygen (s310). On the former, it just displayed the “Initialize Portrait control failed” and, then, the “Get camera resolutions failed” info messages; on the latter, nothing has happened at all. Both phones are SIM / app unlocked and I’ve tried making Portrait work on them several times (yes, after resetting too).
All in all, it’s still useless for video phoning over traditional TCP/IP. Only get it if you only need it for voice / textual communication on Pocket PC's only (again, it seems it's completely incompatible with MS Smartphones.
Hi,
Try " fring "
It support SIP now.
I am using it for my voipstunt. working well

I'm curious on development of IR transmission systems for the Kaiser.
First of all, where is the IR transmitter? Usually these are LED looking transmitters that emit the IR light. If not visible, usually a shield with a darkred filter is applied.
I don't see it on the Kaiser anywhere.
Second, if there is an IR transmitter, I wonder if anyone has developed software to control TV's and such.
(WM6 does have a 'beam to' option on stock ATT rom, I'm assuming it's available.)
There is no IR in the Kaiser.
Sorry
Kaiser doesn't have a IR transmitter.......I wish......I have a program too for a T.v. remote....It works great on my 8525..
Peace
mike
Quick answers. Thanks then. Wish I could delete this thread.
Why do you want to delete this thread, I just learned something - thanks! I was wondering the same thing.
I have been trying to transfer files w/ a friend - he has the Mogul, we can't seem to do it, any tips on that?
I assume we are to use the bluetooth to transfer but so far no luck.

make sure u both enable beam.......yea, i know, you're using bluetooth, but u still need to enable it to transfer files.
enable bluetooth and make sure the receiver not only has BT enabled but is set to be discoverable. =)
hi,
still my problem is that I don´t know how to make a data call by an application from the kaiser htc.
I have this kaiser and a windows xp pc with an analog modem (don´t laugh!)
kaiser has some daily data that needs to get transmitted to the other pc.
I don´t want to use an internet connection.
since I am new to pda with phone built in, I need a clue where to look for a solution. I want to use vb.net 2005.
RIL seems to be the answer to my problem. But where do I find a ril dll to use with visual studio 2005 ?
regards

Hi Guys.
I'm planning on using some sort of mapping software on the move, is it possible to connect the Kaisers GPS to a laptop using bluetooth so that i can get GPS reception on the Laptop?
It's possible. I'm not sure if it works via settings -> external gps, or whether you need a 3rd party app (eg. GPSGate). It definitely works though, just can't remember exactly how I got mine working
The internal forum search won't help much with a 3-letter word. Try HERE as an example to a thread I found via the google search (kaiser gps).
It works extremely well using Igo on the PPC, but I'm a TomTom fan so I winded up abandoning the whole idea and instead, just installing TomTom on my tilt.
GPSGate is fine and easy, but payware.
GPS2Blue is free, supposed to do it too, but seems a bit messy and I never managed to get it working.
But DO NOT mess with settings->external GPS as mentioned above. It's been known to sometimes render the GPS inaccessible, only cure being a hard reset.
In any case, it's meant to be used in the other way around, if you want your Tilt to use an external GPS instead of the internal one, not the way you want it.
Hi I'd like to use my Kaiser as a wireless microphone (baby monitor function) and receive sound on my PC.
I've been thinking about using Bluetooth as well as WiFi connection.
Any Help?
Thanks
it would reqire a special made program to run on both the pda and the computer
the pda would have to be on all the time recording every sound and compress it to mp3 or something smaller then wav
and transmit it over the network to a program on the pc which would play store or alert you
basicly it would require a lot of programming
and unless you phone was being powered by ac
it would suck your batt dry very very very fast
There is a more advanced software for it, it's called Video Camera Plus but it streams video signal as well as the sound. The thing is it doesn't always work well on my kaiser and I don't need a video to be transmited.
Basically I'm looking for something simpler.

Skype? Install fring on it and call your computer. Disable the sound on Kaiser and keep it plugged in. If you have wifi it should work.
