Same Issue
I am having the same issue. Didn't realize it until today. I am searching for fixes/ideas on this site. If you have figured it out please let me know what you did to fix it.
EDIT: Found the solution on the Cingular web page in the support section. Here are the steps to fix/add the features back into a clean rom (these are taken directly from the cingular site so go there for the steps with pictures)
Configuring MEdia Net access on the Cingular 8125:
1. From the "Start" menu tap Settings.
2. Tap the Connections tab, select the Connections icon.
3. Select the Advanced Tab.
4. Tap Select Networks.
5. Select MEdia Net.
6. Tap Edit.
7. With Cingular GPRS selected tap the Proxy Settings tab.
8. Verify the following settings then tap the Advanced tab.
* This network connects to the Internet: Checked
* This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet: Checked
9. Tab the HTTP field, enter the following settings and tap ok.
* Server: wireless.cingular.com
* Port: 80
10. Tap the Socks field, enter the following settings and tap ok twice.
* Server: localhost
* Port: 1080
* Type: Socks 4
11. Tap the Modem tab.
12. Tap Cingular GPRS and tap Edit.
13. Enter a name for the connection. From the "Select a modem" drop-down, select Cellular Line (GPRS) and tap Next.
14. In the "Access point name" field enter wap.cingular and tap Next.
15. Verify the following profile settings then tap Advanced:
* Username: [email protected]
* Password: CINGULAR1
* Domain: Blank
16. Verify the following settings and tap Ok.
* Use server assigned IP address: Selected
* Use specific IP address: Unselected
* Use software compression: Unchecked
* Use IP header compression: Checked
17. Tap Finish.
18. Tap Ok.
19. Attempt a connection to MEdia Net
MMS FIX:
Prerequisite: "wap.cingular" must be configured as the "Access point name."
From the main screen on the device:
1. Tap Start, then tap Messaging.
2. Tap Menu.
3. Tap MMS Configuration.
4. Under the "Preferences" tab, verify the following settings:
* Retrieve messages immediately: checked
o Download on home network only: optional. Recommended only while within the USA.
* Save sent messages: optional
* Reject all messages: optional
* Allow delivery report: optional
* Allow read report: optional
* Use signature with this account: optional
* Attempts before giving up: 3
* Photo resolution: original
5. Tap the Servers tab.
6. Tap Cingular MMS.
7. Verify the following settings:
* Server Name: Cingular MMS
* Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
* Port number: 80
* Server address: http://mmsc.cingular.com
* Connect via: MEdia Net
* Sending size limitation: 300k
* WAP Version: WAP 2.0
8. Tap OK.
9. Tap Set As Default.
10. Tap OK.
After I did these I was able to send and receive MMS messages.

Making CAB file with all your personal settings

Hi all,
Does anyone have experience with making your own CAB file that contains your personal settings, such as:
- Owner info
- Common program settings
- Telco network settings (MMS, SMS, etc)
I want then to include this CAB in my Ext ROM, so I don't need to go through customizing after each Hard Reset.
A small tut would be great, and I will post this in wiki.
Thanks!
Hi HappyGoat.
I don't know if can help you, but try this:
http://www.customcabbage.co.uk/
At least for smartphones is working... Just a shot but... :roll:
hi happygoat
i really dont know if blueangel and himalaya have the same registry configuration ..
but in himalaya you can find the Owner and Notes information in this registry Section(suggest to set it already and then export it with registry editor)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Owner
"Notes" -> is for the Notes of Owner Information
"Owner" -> is for Personal Information
for Regional Settings(set the value already then just export the entire key)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\nls
for Clock GMT (set the value then export the entire key with regedit)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Time
and in here(sometimes needs to set both)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Clock
for Changing the Default SIP
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SIP
"DefaulfIM" <- Change the value of this depends on SIP DestID(can be found in CLSID look for the Key with "IsSIPInputMethod" Subkey)
example: (Dont use this search for the SIP DestID in your device sometimes it differ in different device)
Keyboard -> {42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}
Block Recognizer -> {42429691-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SIP
Make the SIP Drageable
"DragStyle" <- Set 1 to make the SIP Dragable, 0 to fix Position or not movable[
WORD Completion Settings
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SIP

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel
on each Control Panel Module key
set the value of "Group" to this
0 -> to locate it to Personal Tab
1 -> to System Tab
2 -> to Connections tab
for example to change the Buttons Setting location goto
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Buttons
change the value of "Group" to 0 so you will see the button settings in the Personal Tab, 1 if you want to System tab, or 2 if you want to locate the Button setting in the Connections tab

I have made a .reg file with all my settings. I'll post it here.
Download "WinCE CAB Manager".
With this, you can make your .CAB file.
Make a new CAB or open an existent file that you want to install and import the .REG file in that CAB.
Save it.
Copy to PDA and test it!
The better way to do a REG file is hard reset the device, export all the registry, customize all that you want and export all the registry again.
Copy to desktop PC, compare it (I use Compare It!), and make your XDAcustom.reg file.

About the MMS Settings it can be found in this Registry Section ..
if You want you can set your MMS Configuration then Export The Entire KEY
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config]
But important Configuration can be found in this section
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI]
but heres a little understanding about the some important Registry Input
Setting The Server MMS Settings(MMS Settings->Server )
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1]
"1"="Globe"->Indicate the index 1 of Server MMS Settings.. identify in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1] example "Globe" look below

"TotalSettings" -> View how many Server Settings Viewable, set 1 .. and only the Index 1 or "1" will be view in MMS Settings->Server Tab, 2 if you want "1" and "2" will be view .. etc
to create a Server Information
Create a Subkey in this Registry

under the SUBKEY create the following Reg value
Name -> String (REG_SZ)
Gateway-> String (REG_SZ)
GatewayPort -> DWORD(REG_DWORD)
MmscURI-> String (REG_SZ)
SendDefault-> DWORD(REG_DWORD)
RecvDefault-> DWORD(REG_DWORD)
Example of Server Configuration of "test" and "Globe"

AFAIK.. you cannot set Buttonlock in registry ..
use the SetButtonLock.exe if you want to turn ON the Button Lock during hard reset .. ..

Thanks to ToeNailed, it's a really good job. By and large all of the setting for Imate PDA2k is working nicely.
Thanks toenailed for a really nice layout...!

Ok I am trying...
but 1)Extract the keys from your registry using Resco Explorer or Pocket Controller software
2) Open each .reg file using Notepad or UltraEdit, and save all the keys in one .reg file by copy-paste
I have made a full backup file on my storage card of my registry with PMH, now I think to do the follow:
1) backup all programs and data with Sprite software on sd card
2) upgrade to new rom
3) reinstall PMH and restore registry
4) reinstall Sprite and restore programs
5) ... it will be ok ? I hope so because I really don't understand how to follow step 2 by HappyGoat
Thanks for pacience..
In resco you need to got to options -> add in
and tick the Active add-ins -> "My registry"
Then in the root window open -> My Registry
Long hold on what ever you want
Pop up for inport / export comes up.
Then find the file on your device
copy to pc.....
thanks all.... great tweaks and info

hi..sorry maybe is an obvious reply.. but my resco (explorer 2003 v5.13) in add-ins has only "internal zip compression" and "my ftp locations" no "my registry" box...
PS solved with another sw (PMH regedit) thanks anyway..be back soon
did you do an upgade over the internet on your device,
I had the same problem with the ftp add-in.
Best is to go over handango and download the install, run it of your desktop when connected and I think it asks you which add-ins you want.
Its a cab file that is executed on your device.
As you dont have that option the cab has not beem executed.

Steps to Personalize your Phone after Flasing

Can't you setup this all with SASHIMI?
Yes you can. Once you have set up Sashimi there is no need to do any further setting up. Emails, texts, software, settings etc etc is all perform during initial setup after flash.
Threads already on Sashimi exist like this one
No need for another thread

(Guide) Lost Phone Protocol

Hi guys, this is my first guide on XDA
Any suggestions for improving are welcome
I have always been worried about losing my phone, so i made a "Find my phone if all else fails" backup plan (because Googles Device Manager isn't that accurate if you don't have WiFi/data)
What you need:
Tasker (well duh?) [PAID]
Secure settings plugin
Toggle data 5.0 [PAID, but rumor has it there is a free version for XDA members somewhere] (Not needed on Samsung devices, can uses taskers built in data toggle?) I am only using this as the secure settings and taskers inbuilt data toggle did not work for me. They might work for you!
...and Root (Recommended)
You are out with some mates, and you reach into your pocket where your phone should be, and you find....nothing! You don't panic though, as you can just borrow your friends phone, to text yours to find it.
First line of defense
This is a simple, no data, no wifi way of getting an accurate location for your phone.
1. New > Event > Phone > Received text
a. TYPE: Any
SENDER: (Leave blank)
CONTENT: Lost phone (you can change it for your own phrase, and it is case sensitive!)
<Back (top left)
In the popup, select "New Task +", and call it "Lost Reply"
2. Add action > Phone > Send SMS
a. NUMBER: %SMSRF
MESSAGE: Please wait up to two minutes for the location...
<Back (top left again)
b. Add action > Plugin > Secure settings > Configuration (Tap on the pencil) > System+ Actions > GPS > select "On"> Tap the save icon >
<Back (Top Left)
c. Add action > Task > Wait > 5 Seconds >
<Back (you know where)
d. Add action > Location > Get Location > SOURCE: GPS, TIMEOUT (Seconds): 50 [higher the better, more accurate GPS fix] >
<Back
e. Add action > Phone > Send SMS > NUMBER: %SMSRF
MESSAGE:
Im lost! My batt is at: %BATT
Location: %LOC
Accuracy: %LOCACC
GPS stat: %GPS
<Back
f. Add action > Task > Wait > 15 Seconds
<Back
g. Add action > Plugin > Secure settings > Configuration (Tap on the pencil) > System+ Actions > GPS > select "Off"> Tap the save icon >
<Back (Top Left)
Done! you can now track your phone via Text!
Need more tracking ability?
How about you enable the data remotely via text? Then you can use Android device Manager or an installed anti theft app to track your phone!
[You can try kenboyles72 method posted below for enabling/disabling data too]
Data on:
1. New > Event > Phone > Received text
a. TYPE: Any
SENDER: (Leave blank)
CONTENT: Enable Data (you can change it for your own phrase, and it is case sensitive!)
<Back
In the popup, select "New Task +", and call it "Data on Reply"
2.
a. Add action > Plugin > Toggle data 5.0 > tap on "Configuration" > select "Switch on"
<Back
b. Add action > Phone > Send SMS >
NUMBER: %SMSRF
MESSAGE: Data is now ENABLED
<Back
Data Off
1. New > Event > Phone > Received text
a. TYPE: Any
SENDER: (Leave blank)
CONTENT: Disable Data (you can change it for your own phrase, and it is case sensitive!)
<Back
In the popup, select "New Task +", and call it "Data off Reply"
2.
a. Add action > Plugin > Toggle data 5.0 > tap on "Configuration" > select "Switch off"
<Back
b. Add action > Phone > Send SMS >
NUMBER: %SMSRF
MESSAGE: Data is now DISABLED
<Back
Nice guide and works great as you have written above. Just a note, you can enable/disable data via run shell in tasker without any third party app/plugin. I have a profile that toggles data when I'm on wifi.
Turn data off
Run Shell Command:
su
setenforce permissive;
svc data disable;
Check the use root box
Turn data on
Run Shell Command:
su
setenforce permissive;
svc data enable;
Check the use root box
Not sure if this will work on all phones, but works great on my Oneplus One

Found that command in one of the guides here. I have gone through just about every thread and have greatly expanded my knowledge in tasker. I have bookmarked a lot of 'em, plus I have everything typed out just in case
Edit:
Here's another tip for your script that I just added to mine. In your send text command with just %LOC, you will just get the long and lat numbers and is hard to copy just that text in some message apps. Now if you add
Code:
I’m at http://maps.google.com/maps?z=12&t=m&q=loc:%LOC
this will give a link to google maps with current location and would be easier to use.
