My BA hardresets when I push the call button... - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Hi all
I have a BA with WM2003 installed on it. A few days ago I upgraded it to WM5 and everything worked like a charm.
But I coulden't live without the Danish keyboard so I downgraded again using the guide that's on the Wiki. I used the official rom from Dangaard: nordic_1.40.551 and I did the downgrade without any problems.
But when I receive an incoming call and I hit the green call button my BA hardresets, It's the same thing when I'm on the Today screen and hit the call button then it hardresets also. I tried to upgrade the radio_rom to version 1.15 but that didn't solve the problem.
So now I don't know what to do, so I hope that you could help me out...

Go for wm5 and use Resco Keyboard pro

I did that but I needed the danish letters on the hardware keyboard, I tried to use the "BA_AZERTY_Hardware_Keyboard_Patch_for_WWE_ROM" and change the keyboard layout to danish but that didn't work, of course I could try WM5 again if someone could make a danish hardware keyboard patch that works...

I upgraded to WM5 again but the problem still resist, it even reset's after I have choosen "lock all buttons except power button" and put my BA on standby and the press the call button, it just reset's everytime I press the call button.
Could this be a registry problem??? It is just a thought I have...
BTW, it's a Qtek 9090...

Hi,
I had the same problem. In the thread of helmi wm5 upgrade, you will find several patches, such as improving wifi connection and chache improver. I installed this patches incl de powermanagement patch and the problem was solved

used to have same problem
yes, I think it is a known issue. I used XDA IIs with 2003SE and it had that problem... I couldnt find any pattern though...
I upgraded to WM5, and now it doesnt happen anymore...
So, it must be something on 2003 Rom.

I can't hear incoming calls...

I'm having a problem when someone calls, I can't hear them but they can hear me. Once I soft reset, everything's peachy. Just today I used my phone (pda2k with i-mate 1.40 rom) several times. Everything was fine. I turned the flight mode a couple times today. Then, I turned on flight mode, let the phone sit for a while and had an incoming call...I couldn't hear them. I told them to call back in 5 minutes. I tried calling another number but couldn't hear anything, did a reset and everything was fine.
This has happened before and after the 1.40 upgrade. Anyone have any reason why?? I've tried turning the flight mode off and back on, but that didn't help either.
Thanks,
Tom
This is an known issue in 1.40 ROMs, and currently there is no solution.
Dont blame ROM 1.40 because you also face this problem when using ROM 1.31
No solution so far but a trick's available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/posting.php?mode=reply&t=22239
Solution
Delete Run_BTTrayCE_10.lnk from your Windows\Startup folder and soft reset. Now you wont have the BT icon on the tray bar, but you wont have the no sound problem. If you still need bluetooth you can start it from the Windows directory as BTTrayCE.lnk.
Have fun.
I don't know if this can help to solve the problem but I wanted to mention that I never had this problems when I was using vodafone, but after I changed the sim card this probleme occured
Solution
The Solution is TURN ON your BLUETOOTH and then TURN OFF your bluetooth.

Unfortunately for me this actually triggers the no sound issue! My device is fine until the first time I use bluetooth then I can almost 100% guarantee that the next call will be silent.
As stated before with the 1.40.00 rom, this issue is certainly linked to the Bluetooth driver, perhaps on use it is switching audio to their driver for headset use and not restoring it?
Are you using sbp Plus, because this application has issue with bluetooth. Try to close all application not to minimize them when you are done with it. Use PocketNav or Magic Button for that.

Can you tell me if the BT has to be started like you described when you use Tom Tom? Normaly Tom Tom starts the BT automaticaly when it starts. Thanxx
hi
I get this problem a lot when I've had the phone on silent or vibrate and then change it back. I think it mainly happens when I receive a call after this rather than make an outgoing one but after the 1st call even outgoing ones have no sound.
It sounds daft but after a couple of months where I reset whenever it happened I just by chance hit the volume slider & sure enough the in call volume was turned right down. It's worth checking as it's an easy fix for me!!
Kill process
The solution for the problem could be to not run the BT driver. Anyway it's possible to delete from startup the dirver and to run when it need (for GPS or headset...).. But is there a way to kill the BT process without reset the machine (that without BT in the startup does't run the driver) whit a simple "TAP" ?
Thanx... M.
I hope I put my Reply on the right forum, but however...
I recently bought a QTEK9090 via Ebay and also I have the "I can't hear incoming calls..." problem.
Radio 1.06.02 and ROM 1.22.ooWWE. I understand from the postings in this forum that only a few (approx 10 to 15) have a problem and the rest of the world does NOT.
Strange but due to this I am really thinking to replace it by a P910I, as a phone should be able to pick-up calls. I haven't decided because the 9090 is a great machine.
Doesn't anybody have a clue, even not the manufacturer ??
Hi,
i had the same problem. Than i followed the advice above from someone deleting the autostart BT and using the btray.lnk instead. Absolutely fine since then.
greetings
Using the XDA IIs.
Until we get a proper fix, I am using the manual Run_BTTray method to turn on the BT if I need to use my headset.
So what I do is, (a) normally, no BT tray, (b) to use my BT headset, use Run_BTTray to turn on BT tray, (c) use ATBluetooth to actually turn on and off the BT radio, and finally (d) soft-reset to remove the BT Tray when I'm done.
I know it sounds complicated, but is ok after I assign the commands to my buttons (XDA IIs, plenty of buttons!).
What about the pda2k UniDirectional Patch.sa.cab available on the clubimate site.
I had this problem with ROM 1.40 as well as with the previous ROM. I have installed this patch. I have not had this unidirectional problem since then but I am not sure if this will work in the longer term as I have installed the upgraded ROM and the patch only a few days from now.
Love to hear comments of other members who have tried this patch.
Kind Regards

The patch works.... atleast I didnt get the no voice problem after the patch (touch wood  )
So, I've been searching, and this may be covered, but I seem to have the problem in REVERSE. I can hear the other party when using my BT headset, but they can't hear me! On one call, it'll work, then on another, it won't, and then it'll stop working. I have ROM v.1.40.00 and Radio 1.13.00 I don't know what I could do to fix this problem...
Any suggestion would be appreciated...Although I'm not keen about removing the BT tray from the startup, only to soft reset just to remove it...
Thanks,
Q
does this problem remains in the WM5 ?
I wouldn't know...I'm still on WM2003SE....BTW, I have a Siemens SX66.... Anyone? Please?

BlueAngel WM5 on FTP!

There is a file pda2K_2k5.rar on FTP that contains the WM5 ROM for BlueAngel. Origin of the file is unknown, flashing it to my device showed that it is really a WM5 ROM that is working. The OS version is 5.1.1700 build 14343, it has MS bluetooth stack and no camera. The camera drivers are present, so I think it would be possible to extract app from Himalaya ROM.
It has no MMS application and no SIM toolkit.
I've repartitioned DOC, so now I have 61Mb storage area and 128Mb RAM that are fully accessible.
All hardware buttons are working, and the keyboard is working fine, though there is no control panel applet that allows you to turn off its backlight.
Making hardreset is tricky - you have to press camera, record, power and reset buttons simultaneously. There you'll have a choice to use debugger (something about KITL), reset registry and format built-in storage. Navigation in menu is done with camera and record buttons, exit - "mail" button.
Thanks download now .
great it working thanks
So glad I worked late tonight...
Unbelievable!
Awesome etc.
I think the simplest thing to say is: THANK YOU!
That will not stop me from buying a native WM5 PDAphone like the Universal or the Wizard, but still I'm really happy this happened. If only that could force O2, I-Mate, Qtek etc. to sell an official upgrade, that would be nice...
Until now, I had to put my BA in reserve and used my XDAII for everyday for a single problem: BT!!! Maybe the MS stack here will do as good as the one in my XDAII 1.72. Just need my GPS and headset to work properly. The rest is luxury at this point.
BTW, Mamaich, is the procedure similar as the one for Himalaya WM5? Any difference?
Cheers,
Hal
Mamaich, it's time to make tweaking for the camera and especially the O/S speed.. :?
Did someone take down that RAR file? I can't seems to find it anywhere under BA section on the FTP site.

At first we need a ROM image rom Universal or better an official ROM update.
unbelievable brother mamaich...but its true...
Erm...
This is not the same file as on Buzzdev.net is it?
The version is different.
Think I'd have better luck with this one?
Hi Mamaich,
I installed WM5.0 on my PDA2k but unlike you, i only got 49MB storage space. How is it that you got 61MB while i got only 49MB. What did i do wrong?
Also, why am i not able to synchronise with outlook after the rom upgrade?
Thirdly, i can pair my BT headset with my PDA2k but it does not transfer any calls to the headset. I tried using a BT GPS and that works perfectly fine. What do u suppose the problem is?
Would appreciate your comments.
UD.
Has anyone here yet or not weather or not this will work with Sprint or Verizon CDMA phones yet?
Wherez the ROM on the FTP, i searched but i couldnt find it. Its not under BA. Where is it? Is it different from the one that Buzz had on his site?

Still no luck with VZW CDMA, and I haven't heard of a successful case yet.
Yes, the file is the same as the one on Buzz's site.

Hi all
I´ve searched the registry with no luck at all... Is there anyway to lower the backlight brightness? Cause like this it drains the battery really fast! Rudra was right :?
Hey btw i´ve tried my Bt headset and it works better than before!! at least i can go like 5 - 6 meters from my phone and still hear the caller

D-pad with new Imate rom ?

I upgraded my rom today and after that my buttonlock stoped working. When I have the option set to any of the the two lock alternatives my d-pad doesn´t work. Anyone else with that problem ?
Found what caused it, I install a cab to get swedish hardware keyboard and it kills the d-button. Strange because it works on all other roms and I have tried all of them. Imate sucks as usually

Successful WM5 Rom Upgrade Tricks to share

Most of you would have upgraded successfully from WM 2003 rom to various WM5 rom. For me, I started using Helmi's 1.30 rom, 1.32 rom, 1.4 and 1.4 vanilla rom, Xplode AKU 3.3 and 3.5, and just on Tuesday, tried Helmi/Logout rom (I choose to call this rom as such as pointed out by Helmi, Logout had used more than 90% of his work).
All the roms are great, but each had given me some problems, due to the fact that I have many programs installed, nothing to blame Helmi, Xplode or Helmi/Logout. All the roms when freshly installed gave me very stable results, i.e. BT and Wifi on off. From Helmi's 1.4 rom, I got to enjoy A2DP. From Xplode's rom, I got to enjoy clean basic BA WM5 rom. From Helmi/Logout rom, A2DP and stable BT and Wifi on off.
This the experience that I want to share, and I hope you will find this useful.
For all the roms so far, what I did was to hard reset, flashed the rom, test that BT and Wifi can on and off, and start installing all my other apps one after another without soft reset, unless the app asks for it. Along the way, I will find that BT and/or Wifi will not start.
With Helmi/Logout rom, I did the same as above. After a number of apps installed, I experience again either BT and/or Wifi problems. Then something hit my mind! Why don't I do a soft reset after each app installation and after that, check for BT and Wifi power on and off. Guess what, I managed to install majority of the apps to my BA and BT and Wifi still powers on without problem. Here's a list of apps I have:
1. PocketZen Phone
2. Pocket Dashboard
3. GPSGate
4. Mapking 7
5. Garmin Que
6. Spb GPRS Monitor
7. Spb Time
8. Spb backup
9. Spb Imageer
10. Resco Explorer
11. Resco Audio Recorder
12. Virtual Pool Mobile
13. Bubble Buster
14. SKTools
15. XCPUScalar
16. GB-Soft Tweak
17. Tengo Thumb
18. Bejeweled
19. Ezdial
20. Lexisgoo English Dictionary
21. psShutXP
22. Styletap Launcher
23. MS VC 1.6
I still have a number of apps that I had not installed but with 23 in and still running fine with BT and Wifi, I'm very satisfied. So I suggest to those who complain about BT and Wifi problem, or any other problem, try what I had done, i.e. do a soft reset after installation of each app and share with others your success.
Hope all of you will find this useful.
Cheers and thanks to Helmi, Xplode and Logout.
Damn, noone figured that out before, that some apps may screw the settings!! :| Gotta do some tests...
So basically we should not bother with preparing an Ext Rom with all the programes we want, and instead Install and Soft Reset each one seperately?
I'll try it next time i flash my rom, thanks!
That was a good share zard!
WiFi now misses firing up in the helmi/logout ROM when it used to be working fine, unfortunately I didn't know which program I installed when it stopped working.
Just some thoughts, if somehow bluetooth/wifi registry settings gets screwed up after prog installation without soft reset, would it help if we change registry file type from hive to file-based? Registry changes gets written immediately each time with file-based, that is what I read somewhere.
Anyway, I really wouldn't mind doing 20+ soft resets just to get that 100% WIFI/BT powering up!
Thanks again!
Fast Battery Drain Problem found
dear all
we Really appricate your post since i have found AKU 3.5,rom 5.04.10wwe

but may be some fixes may resolve this issue I hope,This rom Very much Stable as i have not checked only WIFi but other applications and third party Softwares does work fine as till now.
after insatlling standarize2.cab and powermanagementpatch_116.cab still this problem not solved for me.
There is One Extreamly diffrent behavior found back light of BA auto swithon if phone is All Keys locked mode or not ,without touching Ba the lights does shows this behavior.May some people has used this rom found this Unique problem till now.
Other problem I found With MS voice Command 1.06 doesnt work with incoming call aleart<other features works perfectly like MENU- profile- music-and etc
I Am very much statsfied with this Rom The most Successful and Stable rom i found Atlast........Thanks to Helmi
Hi Zard
Hi Zard
Thanks for your information, it is very useful.
I am also running on Helmi's / Logout's rom.
I managed to install a lot of programs without affecting BT/WIFI.
I can turn both on / off without a problem. However, I have problem with BT, I can not have two BT devices connected at the same time. When I have my BT headset connected and I try to connect to my BT GPS receiver, it will not work!!
Do you have this problem or do you have a solution for this issue? I did not have this problem on Helmi's 1.4 rom (did not try vanilla though).
Thanks again.

I don't know about what is the difference between registry file type of hive and file-based but whoever knows and can do something about it would be good. Though it was terrible to do so many resets and I guess its worth it after all.

I just tested MS VC 1.6 and the incoming call alert seems to work only when Notifications is set as 'Annouce notifications through device speaker or wired headset only'. Probably, the BT is still not perfect but still, I'm more than satisfied with the BT now since A2DP works for Media Player, Mapking 7, Garmin Que and even voice dial through Mic of BT headset and voice instructions from BT headset when you activate MS VC 1.6 through the hardware button. Voice dial won't work through BT headset if MS VC 1.6 is activated from BT headset. I'm using i-Tech Clip radio BT headset.
just yesterday, i had that same old problem of BT not turning on... after countless soft resets after either turning BT on comm manager or BT settings, it still wont turn on. wifi is ok, just the bt. so i gave up and went on my day without BT. and just now, after reading these latest posts, decided to test BT again. and it works fine again! no new app installed, nothing changed. it had also happened in the past. hmmmm got you all thinking again i wonder
how do u guys manage to install application in Helmi AKU 3.4 v1.4? Using EXE or CAB?
i just flahsed mine yesterday and when i try to install CAB...it seems that the application is NOT installed correctly..
Hi all,
can anyone let me know where i can find this rom (Helmi/Logout) and may be some installation instructions ?
Thanks in advance
Chris
have u checked thru the forum?
the link for logout rom is existed inside helmi v1.4 thread too.

Tytn II Slow/Hanging for some seconds

Hi everybody, i am new here and i need a little help on my Tytn II
So, i got a tytn II from orange but i was a little bit dissapointed by wm 6.0 which came on the device(slow drivers and so on) and put a wm 6.1 rom with hardspl(RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.28.405.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.17.56_Ship)
Science then (and maybe also with 6.0) but i am not shure, i am experiencing some cpu hangs for few second from time to time. Most of the time it's after it returns from Stand By mode. It works fine for a few seconds than PAFF! hangs for a couple of seconds(touchflo not working). it's not the flo because also if i move some cursors with the keys from the phone it is still blocked. After a while it is stable but from time to time still hangs. I am so nervous because i keep pressing the tochflo and nothing happends.
I also tried this manila rom(it is currently installed) L26_KaiserTouch_V1M2D.rar with updates and still the same thing. I have tried to kill all the processes from the memory with celetask but again no feedback. Even turn off the radio by switching to airplane mode. What do you advise me to do? should i switch back to wm 6.0 which i hate? can i find another rom which works? why is the cpu hanging?
Thanks alot. I like the phone, it's cool, but this slowing it's drivin' me nuts!!
plase move this to kaizer general, i dind't see it(or is it a rom prolem?)
Hi!
I also have this problem. It happens with the original 6.0 Rom as well as with the 6.1 Rom from the HTC Website. Sometimes it works for days without an issue. Other days it freezes frequently for a few seconds.
Also, everybody else I know, who have the HTC Kaiser, have this issue.
I noticed that the dimming of screen works even when it is "frozen". Also the on/off button always works. So it is not really freezing but something else is going on?!

I don't get pausing with the ROM/RADIO/SPL in my sig (HTC not Orange branded) but certainly the UK released HTC WM 6.1 ROM had the pausing bug. The OP is right in that WM 6.0 is slower than 6.1 but the setup I'm running is really very reliable when compared to WM 6.1. If the wrong SPL (or hardSPL in this case) is being used for the version of Windows Mobile (1.xx for WM 6.0 and 3.xx for WM 6.1), this will also exacerbate any pausing. SPL 1.93 was put on my phone by HTC when they reverted from WM 6.1 so if anyone is getting pausing under WM 6.0, maybe that SPL will fix things.
Hi,
I'm having the same problem as described above.
Anyone knows a solution for this?
I'm using WM 6.1 and my phone IS NOT locked at all...
Thanks in advance!
Sam
Sounds like a well known issue with a well known fix. Do you have the right HardSPL?
