Hi everyone,
A quick question -- has anyone with a UK SPV M2000 successfully upgraded to the latest Imate PDA2K rom? If so, could you please post step by step instructions of how you did it?
Also, does the upgrade clear the Orange UK extended rom and replace it with the Imate extended rom?
Thanks in advance
Cheers
Nick
Orange SPV M2000
Hello mate,
It seems that we SPV M2000 are underlings in this forum, nobody seems interested in the new users.
I have unlocked the Extended Rom of my M2000 and I have installed the fax software from the Imate, and it works. I do not think that there is anything else that could be interesting there.
Also I upgraded the BT software to build 3500 which seems to have sorted out the licence and memory problems.
If you learn anything could you look out for me and let me know?
Re: Orange SPV M2000
I have just got the SPV M2000 and have been having problems with bluetooth and Jabra SP100, I think I need the BT upgrade or patch.
I'm new to the pocketPC world and rom patches etc.
jrmgolem, I would like to get the fax software installed too and the BT patch, but there is so much information on the forum, it's difficult for a newby to figure out where to start
Would be greateful if you could list the steps that you went through to do your upgrade
Thanks in advance.

No problem, if you send me you email I will send you the files. All you have to do is to copy the files into the temp directory in your M2000 and tap them, then do a soft reboot and it should then be updated.
You will need the unlocker as well, then the EXT ROM Files. They are here somewhere so I will find the url and send it.
I'd love to have it too
sent yo a private message..
thanks

Hi guys,
Just wondering if either of you could help me out...
I've not got an M2000 yet. Long story...i intend to use my work Voda SIM with an M2000 that a friend who is an Orange dealer has offered me in exchange for a few beers should i want one 8)
A little obvious but just to make sure, I presume that once unlocked, a Voda sim in the M2000 poses no problems :?:
Assuming it works with a Voda SIM, i'm also guessing the M2000 will be heavily customised to Orange. If i flash with an i-mate rom, will that get rid of the Orange customisations and provide a more generic software?
If i need a reflash, until i get the unit i've no idea what versions etc the hardware will be (or even how to find out). Can anybody offer an idiot guide of what to look for and how to flash the unit??
Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance 8)

Looks like the same ROM that was leaked a few days ago. This contains the same Ext ROM that I used to create the Mr. Clean AKU 2.3 T-Mobile UK ROM.
I've not yet tried upgrading the ROM on my UK Vario, but I guess now is the time to think about it. I want to keep my stored SMS and MMS messages, but everything else on the machine I'll probably clean-install and re-tweak as necessary once I get the new ROM flashed. I've got a good idea of what I do and don't want in my Vario after 5 months use, and I guess now would be a great time to get rid of all the junk that's probably clogging up the registry by now.
A couple of questions:
I know I can make a backup copy of the current ROM onto a clean SD card, but can I back it up onto a partially used card (i.e. using the file system, rather than raw data blocks).
I backup my Vario regularly using SPB Backup. Can the SPB Restore utility restore just my SMS/MMS messages (including user-created folders) without reinstalling anything else, so I can keep a nice clean machine?
The UK T-Mobile release is 2.0, whereas "Mr Clean ROM" is 2.3. I'm guessing 2.3 is better, but what am I likely to lose (if anything) that's on the T-Mobile ROM? Is the stereo bluetooth headset facility on both? I've already removed most of the obvious T-Mobile pink stuff, and put in a better dialler skin, etc. In fact, I don't really want T-Mobile's dialler skin at all, as I've been trying to get rid of their modified history & speeddial icons for ages!
Finally, what about reinstalling things like TomTom - will doing so remove my user-defined favourite place settings, etc? (my maps are stored on SD card)
Thanks for any advice, I'm a little nervous here...
Andre
^^^ Same questions and concerns for me.
Also, I flashed my T-Mobile UK MDA from original ROM to Qtek 2.17 ROM a month ago. I SIM & CID unlocked it in the process using Lokiwiz 0.2b - do I need to prep the phone with Lokiwiz 0.3 before flashing the MDA to keep it unlocked?
Cheers in advance.

Things I've noticed so far:
1)
The Comms screen has been radically changed, adding a "push" button (deactivated on my uk t-mobile vario for some reason) and another button that looks like a ppc to ppc connection.
2)
The battery icon has moved from the bottom right corner to the top right corner, on the top panel, (where the time used to be) and has turned an ugly shade of green. I presume it goes yellow -> red when on low power.
3)
In the programs, something called "SAP Settings" has been added.
It's used for remote sim access apparently.
4)
"Running Programs" is now a program and can be seen on the start menu
6)
"Comm manager is now a program that appears on the "running programs" list.
5)
When starting up, it displays the t-mobile screen followed by the WINDOWS MOBILE screen instead of just the t-mobile screen.
Finally, this could because of a cleaner registry and stuff, but it does feel somewhat more efficient.
So would the early adopters say it is better or worse than the mighty summiter/Mr Clean (Uk) versions
Bhayani
Right now I like the Mr Clean version better, but I only had that on for a weekend and the new one has only been on for an hour or so.
Personally after a day with it I'm tempted to go back to the qtek 2.17 rom
Hi can someone post up the MMS settings as I didn't note them down when I updated the rom - doh! UK of course.

Thats interesting.... Im using a Qtek 2.17 ROM at the moment and am considering upgrading, but Im holding back at the moment. What dont you like?
Bad news here. I've been running the Mr Clean Comes to London ROM for a few days with no problems at all and before that one of the Qtek ones and the unit never reset itself which it had ben doing with the T-Mobile ROM from the start of the year. I am happy with the performance of the new T-Mobile ROM after installing it yesterday but overnight it went back to soft resetting itself as all of my open programs were shut down this morning. Also when I turned it on the screen wasn't responding so I ended up doing another reset.
I'll leave it over the weekend but it looks like the spontaneous reset problem hasn't been resolved. Strange that T-Mobile can't fix that but all the other ROMs seem to have it licked!

Of course it could be something T-Mobile has put in that's causing it. I'm thinking Mr Clean is the way to go...

Hello everyone,
I'm was wondering about something very interesting which maybe someone could help me with.
Before i Flashed my Tilt to Hyper Dragon III Latest version it would when Unplugged from the wall or computer get to the screen where it says Windows Mobile 6.1 and then from that point would stall and not load any further and I would have to take the battery out to cut the phone off. I thought by updating the Hyper Dragon ROM that it would fix this, but it still does the same thing even with a NEW UPDATED ROM. When I plug it into the wall or computer and power the device on it gets past that point every time without problems. What could be the cause of this? Is it my Radio Version that is giving me this trouble because I really cant have this. I'm Also US so what is the best Radio for me? I have an older Radio installed currently. My tilt has the following information.
Phone Type: AT&T Tile 8925 Unlocked
Operating System: Hyper Dragon III OPAL (October 11th 2008)
Radio Version: The one you install with Hyper Dragon III
Location: United States
Anything would help because I cant keep having this.
Thank you for your time,
Mark
have u tried a soft reset using your stylus when it freezes

What SPL are you running? Where are you located? Any reason why you have not updated your radio? Based on the fact you have not updated your radio, I'd assume that you have not updated your SPL to the one that matches the Hyperdragon III Rom?
Hyper Dragon III and Radio Update
I actually made a mistake on the ROM. its the current Radio I have installed since i Loaded Hyper Dragon III. The radio signal is weak in my area US/NYC so I was wondering what is the best Radio for my area that will give me the best reception. Also i heard of this Duttythroy Diamond_Radio_1.00.25.BS14 but my phone isnt a Diamond, its a Kaiser Att Tilt. Please let me know what I can do before I do it
Thank you for your impute it does help much

AT&T Tilt dead??
Hi there,
I don't know if this message will reach you or not and or how to retreive it either if you do reply.
I am from Australia and I bought an AT&T Tilt from eBay, Aust version is HTC-8900, I think.
I ran TOMTOM but it froze and I did a sift reset and when the creen came back, it went to 4 colours... 4 horizontal bar, Red then green then blue then white ... there is yellow text in the red bar saying
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.93.0000
CPLD-8
at the bottom in the white bar it says Serial and when i connect it to laptop, it says USB.
So I guess what I am begging for is some direction to reload the operating system on there, or ROM I think it's called.
I wanted to run the HTC-8900 Austalian WM6.1 on there but don't know how to search for it in XDA-Dev website...
I am on line now but don't know how to check to see if I get a reply...
Can someone help me?

In the ROM Development section you will Find an Ultimate Radio Thread. I suggest you read that to learn about Radios. And there whole "best radio" question is impossible to answer.
You will find a thread or two dealing with Screen freezes too.

You also should look in the Kaiser ROM Development forum for a "Stuck in Bootloader" thread.

Looking for the upgrade for my TYTN ii to WM6.1 but on the HTC site it says
"Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device"
It's currently running
WM6 pro
CE OS 5.2.1620 (build 18125.0.4.2)
My ROM Version is 1.81.707.0
ROM date 09/05/07
Radio Version 1.27.12.11
I think it is an Asian import as it had Mapking on it originally
Any help greatly appreciated
Yeh i get this message also, and my TYTN is unbranded and unlocked direct from HTC.
It is annoying as how can this be the case?
Regards
dmgcm
Found the correct upgrade for my version of TYTN 2
Hi,
If anyone was having the same problem upgrading to WM6.1 for the unbranded Asian version of the HTC.
I found the correct upgrade, just goto HTC.com and choose country of origin (top righthand corner) to Singapore and then follow link to software download section to find upgrade.
Only negative so far is camera takes photos but i cannot see anything in the viewfinder.....time to scout around the forums again.
Cheers Tony
why not flash to a custom rom like i and hundreds more on this forum have done?
I have an AT&T Tilt, Imported, considering AT&T aren't even in Australia i don't think.
I'm running the HyperDragon III Jade+Manila 2D rom on my device, which is a WM6.1 rom and my device could not be going any better. everything is very fast and smooth.
i also got the Omnia Direct 3D Drivers. Duke Nukem 3d runs @ absolute minimum of 16fps if there's lots of explosions and stuff... 35 - 40fps normally.
The TyTn II is an incredible phone with unlimited potential at the moment.
Did you select the file "HTC TyTN II - Windows MobileĀ® 6.1 Professional Upgrade"? This worked for me. After having installed WM 6.1, when I try to download the other file "HTC TyTN II - Operating System [ROM] Update", I also get the message "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
Problems changing OS to wm6.1 o english
TYTYN II changing OS wm6.1 to english
Today I tried to change my tytyn ii language from Norwegian to english. In order to do that I used first flashing with spl 3.29. TyTYN-2 flashed well and then started loading kaiser duttys WM6.1 english, after loading almost 50% it stopped doing giving message communication errors. I tried several times after restoring connection, but it stopped everytime at 0% loading, giving the message incorrect communication. Active sync does not work any more, only usb.
The mobile screen is showing three colours with words at the right corner RUUNBH
andat the left KAIS130, SPL-3.29.0000
CPLD-8
Please help me, what steps should I take
Thanks for your attention.
Regards
Asim
It is a version problem!
Guys,
It is the version which could be the problem. Mine is 1.81 version with 1.27 radio version. If you find the kaiser rom updates page on this portal, you will see that wm6.1 is available for verison 3. something not for 1.8... Although I will give a go with the rom update I have downloaded from somewhere else
cheers
Hi all,
I wanted to know if the update for the MDA Vario III ROM is correct on this site? if so has anyone downloaded the ROM update from this site and tried it out for themselves? {link is given below}
I would test it out for myself, but my PC has a million problems...so a lack of confidence and fear of third party window applications interference prevents me from testing it out :S but if someone has done this update, could please let me know if it is ok?
Thanks
http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/dm_vario3_sw.html
I'm pretty sure that you can just go to htc.com and get the proper update.
yeah that was my first step, but it's not for the MDA VARIO III...It's only for HTC TYTN II model...on the HTC site itself it requires you put in the S/N of the handset before you can download...done that and it says its not for the device MDA VARIO III :S
Thanks for the reply.
Contact your mobile operator for official updates...
But I've seen this page before. It is linked on t-mobile so it should be the correct page
