Unlocking a Cingular 8125? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Hi all,
I was just wondering how easy (or difficult) it is to unlock the Cingular 8125? I want to buy a new one for my girlfriend for Christmas, but she has T-Mobile. I was hoping that perhaps it isn't too hard to do, as I don't want to risk bricking the phone and thus voiding my warranty.
Also, does anyone know how well the phone & GPRS function on a phone designed for a CDMA 850 network? Thanks in advance everyone.

I'll be new to the Cingualrs 8125 and have a killer AT&T rate plan. I'd be sad to leave AT&T. So can any one help me unlock the 8125. Also any one know if it has anolog roaming or does it strictly rely on GSM

download and use aWizard. search for aWizard here.
If you have AT&T now,you do not need to unlock it to work on Cingular. They are the same company! If it does not work, you can call Cingular's tech department to get it working on the system.

You know this for a fact? or will they try to get him to convert to Cingular Orange?
Personally I will never buy a locked phone again or will get it unlocked to avoid this hassle.

Sorry bud, I work in Tech and there is no way we will wave our magic wand to make it work.
The phone has to be unlocked first.
AT&T is dead, they are not the same company and our phones with their old sims will not work unless unlocked.
Use lokiwiz and unlock it, worked fine on my 2 8125's then you can keep your Blue plan.
Sorry about that....I misunderstood what he was asking.

Thick Newby wanting a G4 CID unlock answer

I must be thick as I have read more posts on this than I have had hot dinners and tried various utilities all to no avail although thankfully my Wizard still seems to work.
My O2 XDA-Mini s is about 2 years old and of course locked to O2 although the device come up as SIM Unlocked but CID Locked.
IPL - 2.21.0001
SPL - 2.21.0001
I am now on the Three network and would just like to get back to using the phone I love rather than the freebie I have now, so I am assuming I need to get CID Unlocked?
Having bothered to get to that stage I would want to scrap the O2 software and upgrade to a better ROM.
Sorry for being so stupid on this, I am hoping someone in the know can take the time to reply.
Thanks in advance
There's no need to post in every thread, you already posted in the G4 forum, wait for someone to replay.
Anyhow, check your other post, this has been answered ,to upgrade to wm6, you got to do it with SoftSPL or HardSPL as its a G4 device, but if you want to SIM unlock, use the lokiwiz03 tool to generate the SIM unlocking code.

Won't work on Three as it's not 3G. Should be unlocked though - most XDA mini s are.

Thanks, disappointed but that may be the answer, I will try a Vodaphone card in it tomorrow and that should answer the question.

Diamond on PR

Hello everyone, I'm new in this and English is not my first language so excuse me for my bad english. I'm planing to buy the HTC Diamond but I live in PR and I'm stock with cingular for one more year I think, so if I buy the phone what do I have to do to make it work with my cingular SIM card?
thanks
Where are you planning to buy it from?
I'm planning to buy it from ebay. Is there any web site where I can find it for less?
Mine works in PR
I can tell you about my experience with the sprint one. I ordered the day it arrived on US and when it got here the net wasn't working and overall crappy. Sure most of the problems are now fixed but thanks to the community. You can try it normally or you can purchase on of these to make it work.

You can always try CTI-Miami, or some other third party reseller. Also, you just need to put the SIM card from your old phone into your diamond for it to work (that's all you need to do).
so I don't have to unlocked it or do anything like that? It will work with my cingular SIM.

well, as long as you buy a unlocked one, then you will be fine. (it should be unlocked anyway, since at&t isn't offering the diamond.)
The unlocked ones are more expensive than the ones that are for sprint, isn’t and easy way to unlocked them by myself?

you can't use the one for Sprint on at&t, they use two totally different technologies, GSM vs. CDMA. so even if you buy the sprint one, you can't use it on at&t.
ok, thankyou everyone for your help!!!!! I guess I will have to save a bit more haha.

Question about ROM installation?

All,
Sorry for the potentially really dumb question. I have never flashed a ROM before and plan to do so if someone knows the answer to the following question.
I have the T-Mobile HTC Touch Pro 2 device. I gave the device to a friend using AT&T. The TP2 was unlocked by T-Mobile. Since unlocking, the 3G network is unavailable for the AT&T sim. I have done a lot of research and learned that I cannot get 3G on the T-Mobile device using the stock ROM.
My question is, if I were to flash the TP2 with an AT&T Tilt2 rom, would I be able to access AT&T's 3G network?
Thanks so much in advance for any replies.
-Jeff
I was thinking about trying to the shipped AT&T ROM on my TP2 located on HTC.com
A T-Mobile branded TP2 will not be able to use AT&T 3G. The only TP2 model that will is the Tilt 2.
I hope that helps.
It does. thank you for the reply.
Answered.

[Q] unlock moto-x for outside of the U.S use

Hi all,
I'd love to buy the new moto-x (costumized colors) to my gf,
unfortunately we don't live in the U.S, now I never had to buy a phone abroad and use it else where, but I know it's possible, yet not as straight forward as should be, as there should be some unlocking undone, network restrictions and what not (I'm not really sure what are the actual restrictions...)
I was hoping some of you guys could help me first understand what are the actual restrictions for buying a phone in one country and use it in another and the second thing is to understand if this is possible to be done with the moto-x.
Thanks a lot in advance !
Buy a phone thru att if you want customizations and unlock it for 3$ from unlockcode247 website enjoy
