Remove nickname field from display?

Hello everyone. I recently got a new AT&T Tilt (Kaiser) loaded with Windows 6.1 and their new Voice Command app. For those unfamiliar with Voice Command, it doesn't require voice tags like Cyberon's app...it uses some sort of sophisticated software engine to determine the sound of names based on their spelling.
That works fine until you have some folks with names that don't sound like they're spelled. I did some research (here and elsewhere), and I found one work-around that suggests using the nickname field to hold a "Soundalike" entry...Voice Command's search function would then pick that contact up.
It works fairly well...however, when I pull up a contact, the nickname is shown along with the real name in quotes (Firstname "Misspelled-Soundalike" Lastname). I hate that. Is there any sort of registry tweak to prevent the nickname from being displayed while viewing the contact?
THANKS!
...still no takers? The only reason I posted here was because I couldn't find it anywhere else (Google, this forum, etc)...don't tell me the brilliant minds who frequent this forum are all gone! ;-D

Text Message Searching

Yea so I know that from the "All Messages" screen you can type and search for words that are in really recent text messages; but lets say for example, my friend Alex texted me the Course Number of a class two months ago; its really annoying to keep having to press "Older Messages" over and over to get to that message. So here are my questions:
1. Are there any programs that either
a. Allow you to search the the ENTIRE history of conversations with a contact
b. Show more than [5? I think is the current amount] back&forths per page
c. Yea A & B is all I can think of for now lol
but please...assist.
Hi,
who said that in all messeges screen if we do search then it will search only from the recent messeges. No thats not the case it looks the entire messages. After typing the search word that you are looking for in all mesages screen wait for sometime to let screen populates the search results
My phone surely doesn't. at first i couldnt search correctly becase of the TouchPal keyboard (which I absoutely love love love - shameless plug) but I switched to the other regular keyboards just to search and it certainly does not search through every message ever. It only searches recent and subject titles. Are we both talkin about the touch diamond? (I do have the verizon version if that has anything to do with it)

Hero 2.0 Dialer and Call log application worse than 1.5

Hi,
Not sure if this has been posted before. I find that the 2.0 version of the dialer and call log application and are worse than than the previous one in terms of options.
In the cupcake version, when you typed in a few alphabets and you got a few contacts listed, you could scroll through the various numbers linked to the contact with the trackball. This feature seems to be absent in all the 2.0 ROMs I have tried out. You have to open the contact and then pick the number you want to call....if not, it dials the first number stored.
Perhaps it will be a feature when the official version rolls out. But if anyone else has seen a solution to this problem, that would be great.
Thanks in advance

Google Voice Search in UK

Downloaded the updated Google Voice Search with all of the new actions, but I noticed that it wasn't quite working as the demonstration video described.
"Listen to", "send text", "send email", "note to self" and "go to" all just launched the browser and performed a web search with the spoken statement.
Eventually, through trial and error I realised that if I changed the input language to "English (US)" instead of "English (UK)" all of the options became available!
Anyone notice if this is a Nexus One limitation or an application limitation? Couldn't find anything from Google explaining that the service would be language dependent. Haven't used it long enough to know if there is a big enough difference between the dialect recognition for this to be a problem.
Just seems to be a fail on Google's part really. I've set mine to both EN-US and EN-AU and it's fine.
noticed it as well- think they missed that one
Don't think they've missed it, found this earlier on the official blog earlier:
"Update (1:23 PM PST): we previously had not made the below downloads available outside the US, but they are now available. Voice Actions only work with US English speakers right now."
Not sure why it works on the EN-AU setting though, unless it's identical to the EN-US one but with a different name?

xda Website Bug

It isn't critical or nothin like that, but as a Web Developer i kinda notice little things... Your AJAX quick reply is a nice addition, just adds a TR on the fly, but it should be taken one step further and look at the page (while it is being loaded) and get the ID of the field that holds the post count, then add 1 to it via JS.
If you post in a thread you have already posted in, your new post will show the correct amount of posts, your old post(s) do not update until the entire page is refreshed.
Nothing major, just saw it & figured i'd mention it, as i would want someone to mention it to me.
