I'm stuck in the middle of upgrade to WM5

Hi:
I was upgrading my BA using this tutorial:

But i cant go throu the 11step: My phone is a PHB20 and afther the power+softh reset instruction i try to do the instructions for my BA and they dont have any effect...
when i do the Power+Softreset+Camera+Record it goes to bootloader menu.
Any tips please :?:

Yeah, try again, and again, and again... I usually have to do it 5-6 times before I finally manage to get in there.

Try This
Press soft reset and after you see the colored bars press at the same time the Camera + Record Button
No need to press power button

I've tryed that soma many times... but with no luck... looks like i whave to keep trying...

Problem solved: downgrade and upgrade again

what worked good for me: FIRST press camera + record (for me it was windows media + record because PH20B1 device) AND THEN Softreset. Get directly into the menu.

Bricked my Diamond any Fix?

today i installed an application from untrusted source and it bricked my HTC touch diamond
it gets stock for 5 mins on the htc logo screen then displays "the device is unable to boot because either you have turned off the device incorrectly or tried to install an application from untrusted source, Press SEND to reset your device or press any other button to cancel, this operation will delete all your personal data and restore the device to its factory default settings."
i pressed all the buttons on my diamond but none works.
i would really be grateful if anyone helps me to fix my HTC (without erasing all the data if possible)

have you tried a hard reset?

I can Hard reset it but is there any other way to fix it without losing the data or any way to copy the data to my PC while the device is bricked?

If you are able to reset your phone via a hard reset, it is not bricked. Backup people!

I'd recommend SKKV tols along with PPC PIM backup (don't forget about your registry.
you can find a lot of freeware backup apps over at freewareppc

Resco Backup is awesome if you don't mind paying a few bucks... How much is your valuable data worth to you?

how can i backup the phone when it cannot estabilish connection with activesynch?
i did some egistry fauts, now the phone boots up, but there is just balck creen ant the start button, the phone button and the batert/network button
when i tpa on start button only appears the progrma section, when i tap on it nothing happens...
the biggest problem that ii cannot make a connection between the pc and the diamond...
what shuold i do to fix the problem?

You can enter the bootloader and connect it via USB there.
Enter + up on volume + stylus should enter a tri-color screen.

what is the enter in this case?
soft reset or the power button, or the round button which i use for taking pics?

i got to the bootloader, there is the tricolor/4colour/ screen, red green blue and white,
in the red writes daim100 mfg64m
spl+1.40. Olinex
MicroP-Diam (led) v11
in the green field
fsoc-diam stage_pvt v0x32
blue field is blank
in the white field it writes> usb
but i cannot connect tothe pc, so dont have activesynch and cbbot flash the ppc...

Bricked TyTN 11

Hi, got a new tytn11 phone and was trying to follow the flash but messed up lol.
all i get now is a blank screen (black) with green led on.

u can definitely find the answer.

Were you trying to flash a stock ROM or a cooked ROM?? If it was a cooked ROM did you have Hard SPL on your PDA before flashing??
Please post your ROM, Radio ROM number if you can recollect the same.

hi i didn`t get as far as flashing i think. i didnt read the info right had no hard spl installed, it all went wrong whebn i pressed the camera power and done a reset, all i got next was a black screen nothing else.
sorry dont know what version things are only got the phone 2 days ago lol and was playing.

OK.. you never actually connected your phone to the comp and tried flashing a ROM?? did you try a hard reset?? you need to press the two soft keys (the ones above the explorer and messaging buttons) and simultaneously reset the phone using the stylus.
Follow the instructions on screen when you are asked to press the send key.
NOTE: all your contacts and data will be lost when you hard reset, but phone will be back in its factory state.

i formated the sd card with a program the format went ok then a message poped up saying you are still here somethink has gone wrong, then i pressed the camera and power button and done a soft reset now i just have a blank screen with green led on.
Have tried hard reset but nothing happens. the green and red button and the reset ?
Also did not have it connected to pc everything was done via sd card

just tried that with the keys above ie and messages but my key pad lights dont come on it like the phone is turned off accept one green led top of phone.

u need to hold the stylus in the hole a few seconds, if that will not help, I suggest u to read the "kaiser wiki troubleshoot section", there is an answer for sure.

how can I Upgrade my Xda II if my camera and record button is broken? :(

Certainly when upgrade from WM03 to WM06, we all must go to the boot loader option to clean registry, disable KITL, clean storage...etc . However,poor me, I have an XDAII with broken record and camera button, so that I can not get in Boot Loader ( Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton )
So could any one solve this problem?

As this is a mechanical problem, - you can't press buttons, which are physically not there -, there is no software solution!
A little workaround might be possible, but untested yet:
As it is not necessarily so, that you have to do a hard reset to end upgrading,
you can try to skip it, in case the last thing you did in WM2k3(SE) was a hardreset.
There should no difference to a fresh upgraded system, which had done a hr afterwards, but it's untested!!!
To do a hard reset on a running WM5 or WM6.X system, you can try to downgrade, hardreset WM2k3(SE) (As I remember this OS does use this buttons to hr) and then upgrade again. It looks wierd, but might work.
For cookers only:
I suggest to use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=510805,
as it's a WWE rom without camera-function for cooking.
Delete everything that belongs to the camera to get a little bit more sectors to fill with apps and proggis you need.

Thank so much for your helping, your guiding is quite clear and detailed but....it's not work surely. The way to get in boot loader depend on model of Xda, not depend on the version of rom. The Himalaya use fomular "Reset +Camera + Button" permanent whatever u use any wmXX

Well, I use Powerbutton -DPad -Reset to enter bootloader. No use of Camera button there.
In WM2k3(SE) the hard reset is powerbutton and reset, as I remember, please correct me, if I´m wrong.
Still no use of the missing button.
Enter bootloader and flash, then try to skip hard reset. Although it is better it is not needed.
To do a hard reset on a running WM5/6.X system use the tool of post#18 here:

Change options to allow hardreset, tap on left upmost icon twice, tap and hold hardreset and run selected.
Voila, no button needed!!!
Tap the icon left of the '?' and enter anything you want. Congratulations.

Diamond freezes at startup

My diamond freezes on the startupscreen where you see in the lower left conrner the R, G and D versions in RED.
Can this be fixed?

Yeah I am rite now having the same problem anyone has any suggestions the soft-reset button doesn't work and it is not recognizing my network provider... anyone has any suggestions....

if i only could acces the internal storage, put a rom on it, and do a flash with hard reset buttons, then it could be back 2 live but now

Can you get it into bootloader? {Hold Vol. down button while pressing power}
If it will go into bootloader, you can flash from there.

It worked
1. i've put it in bootloader [Hold Vol. down button while pressing power]
2. connected the diamond to my pc with USB-cable
3. Install the original rom
