23 right after college. My advice, stay there and have as much fun as possible.
I'm still living under their roof, I'm going to be 20 in less than a month.

I went to boarding school at twelve.
Then I came back at seventeen and left.......quickly
So. Technically it was seventeen
(boarding school is obviously supervised) but it feels like a longer time....

At 28....I moved when I got married. I'm 31 @ the momment. I lived like 15 minutes from them..lol.

Got the boot at 16.
Evil Stepmother.
15, had a single mother at the time and she bailed, didn't wanna be a mom anymore. Lived with an older couple for a couple months then the school counselor helped me get emancipated to make it all legal. I was signing my own school paperwork and permission forms, bills, loans, and student aid papers before I could buy ciggs.
15 originally. My mother didn't like me spending nights with my GF of that time; so i moved in with her instead! Guess what i was doing at a time when i should have been doing my exams?
Anyway, that ended so i moved home until i was 17 when i moved out for good. Been supporting myself ever since.
Those of you that have a supportive family and good home life should stay there for as long as they'll put up with you. It's the easiest way to save money for your future.

Hell freakin yeah. Amen. It's cool to live out on your own, bring chicks back to YOUR place. But you'll be regretting that move out when you're paying for college, rent, electric, gas, insurance, booze and weed at college with the money you're making flippin burgers full time just being grateful they give you a free meal once a day. Chicks don't like dudes with no money, even if he is living at his own apt. Bring em home to the spider man sheets. Most don't care and Mom is alot more understanding than you'll ever give her credit for.
Good thing my mom is so supportive, problem is even her is having a hard time financially and I can't find a freaking job!

People usually move out when they pass out of school..
I passed out of school.. got into college in the same city so didn't have to move out.
Passed out of college and got my first job close to my home so still living with them
Will move out if my work sends me else where or if I take a job elsewhere
moved out of home when I was 18 for stydies and work then came back at 25 cause of financial crysis at my country. No job no money
Finally got a decent job and trying to save some money so i can plan my next move but it's not an easy thing cause my family bussiness is preety much ruined by this situation so i got to support them too
I'm 25 now and living at my parents house. We've been moving 3 years ago, now the whole family has to help out on that farm stuff, which will take maybe 1 or sometimes 2 weeks in a year so nothing special.
I do not have to cook myself which is probably the best thing cause when u get home after work, pretty tired and u have to cook - that's probably one thing that goes for days but not months or years
I'll stay maybe one or maybe two years here, then I'll find myself a place - atleast that's the plan, cause it's not always good to be here, and some day everyone has to go it's own way.
Wow interesting answers... I was 17 when I left. Dropped out of hs and started working 3 jobs...Couldn't stand my mom stealing all my weed and she hated me taking all her box wine and store brand vodka..hehe. but if I had a "normal family" id still be living there! Is 33 too old to live w/ your parents?

Indubitably
I'm thinking of moving out in a few years. I'm still in university and working, I'm 19 I turn 20 by the end of the year. My mom's always been a single mother since she came to Canada, so I want to be able to help her out as much as possible and even though I'm 19... I get spoiled, hahaha so I still live with her.

Not necessarily. My mother is the most shallow, obnoxious person I know. Not to mention racist and close minded.
But if someones mom (and/or dad is good (speaking generally here) THEN STAY A LONG, LONG LONG TIME... like til your thirty... Seriously. Do it.
I left at seventeen and it was VERY DIFFICULT....
You see a shirt for £97.
You borrow £50 from your mum and £50 from your dad = £100.
You buy the shirt and have £3 change.
You give £1 to your mum and £1 to your dad and u keep £1.
You owe both your mum and dad £49 = £98. You still have a pound = £99. Where did the other pound go?

There is no other pound, it only looks like one is missing because of looking at it the wrong way.
In the end you have a debt of 98 pounds (2x49) on one side and on the other side you have a shirt of 97 pounds plus 1 loose pound. Both sides come up to 98 pounds.
No missing pounds...

Alright, I'll solve it.
First you have £100, you use it to buy a shirt worth £97, you get £3 change.
You cannot just split 97 in half and round it to 49 euros each, one person has to have paid a dollar more, so its £48+£49=£97, with £3 as change.
You gave back £1 to each of your parents, meaning your mom got her £50 (£49+change) back, and your dad got his £49 (£48+change) back, the £1 you're keeping is the missing change. You don't be greedy and give back one of the £1 you got as change from the shirt and your dad will get his £50.
capiche?
Lets face it... the parents get nothing back...
Had to check if I was in off topic.... nope I'm not.
good day.
Meh. Different at least. Doesn't involve Battery Life or Updates.

You just made the problem harder. €1~£0.83~$1.32
Indeed you can't split £97 into €49 for each parent. And where did the person get the dollar from, did they exchange €0.75 for $1?
If you're willing to pay 97 whatever for a shirt....
Where that last single unit of currency went is the least of your worries...

LOL. Thats so true in my case
I know this is way off topic but id get some help/advice from xda family. ive already accepted loan for this coming semester(first time having to do so, ran out of money) , i dont start work back until january 15th, i only have 88 bucks in my bank acct now, almost no gas in my jeep, only decent internet source is my phone but my data for this month is getting close and it renews the 5th... How the heck do i come up with some money? I got xbox, ps3, smartphone repair services and parts posted on knoxville and Chattanooga craigslist, but i get no business cuz they dont wanna meet in sweetwater

Judging from your post, you are a student. 88 bucks is enough to survive for 3 weeks as a student. Just make sure you have stuff that you can prepare for meals. Driving is not important.
Depends whether you want to survive or live.
LIVE:
Take a part time job. Ask friends for money. Don't drive. Cancel the cellphone for the month(if possible). Sell your PS3/XBOX.
SURVIVE :
Eat only once every two days. Don't take a bath. Take the thug life. Start a clan in the neighborhood and start stealing. Blackmail friends for money. Start pick pocketing. Thrive on Christmas party left over.
^^^THAT^^^
Im at home about an hour and half away from college and where work is... And at parents house til dorms open back up so i have food and water and all that... I need money for books for next semester and i only pay 50 a month for my cell... Only means of internet, staying in touch with people

You're pretty much set. Borrow money for books from parents, or just wait till the first pay check to buy the books. Or do what I do. get drunk now and worry about stuff tomorrow.
Lol... I only have half bottle of hot damn left... And parents dont have the extra money, theyre about to lose their vehicles and home phone has been cut off, i paid for electric here for the month

Make some moonshine
Sell all your electonics on eBay, including youre smartphone. Go with tracphone get their barebones plan, get a cheap dumb phone. For internet access, use the school computers. This is the time to make hard choices.
Worst case scenario is living on the streets begging for money... and judging by interviews with bums i've seen, they're generally pretty happy...
My girlfriend of almost one year is trying to go to medical school. She graduated from university last year and has been working in a lab during the application process. I am graduating this upcoming spring. I have been working in an IT consulting position while in college and will continue in something of the sorts.
I have large concerns about whether med school is the best option vs pa school, nursing, etc. To me, the time and money commitment of going to medical school seems huge. I am concerned about us getting married (that is the plan) and having basically a second mortgage (but larger) and not being able to start a family until we are in our mid 30's.
Does anyone have an experience or in a similar situation?
Hello. The title pretty much sums it up. I like taking perfectly good working electronic and mechanical doo-hickeys and breaking them so I ca make the better and more suited to my needs. I recently got into 3D printing. I have a 175 gallon reef fish tank and i like playing with HO scale model trains.
Married 20 years in August. I'm the father of a 12 year old and a 14 year old. My son is an avid scratch programmer. My daughter just wants her electronics to work.
Thanks for letting me be part of the group.
