Changing o2 to Orange - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Hi,
I have download this rom from the ftp site:
RUU_Wizard_OrangePL_Customize_WWE_224_Aku23_A2DP_NOCID.exe
If i install this on my xda mini s, will it rover write all the O2 crap...spalshscreens etc?
And how can i remove the O2 folder from the programs?
Cheers
Kieron

If your phone is cid unlocked it may work, you need to know if you have a g3 or g4 device, to be honest if your asking this question you need to do some reading. Start with the wiki.

TMobile MDAIII in UK...ROM

Does anyone have an MDAIII from TMobile released in the UK? I have a German MDAIII using an PDA2K ROM now and would love to put the TMobile UK English version ROM on it....
I have the UK T-Mobile ROM, but haven't worked out how to back it up yet.
Thanks for the reply....I'm not quite sure how you would back out an existing ROM. Does T-Mobile UK have a support website for downloading ROM upgrades and such?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/DumpRom
I sent an email to the developer to see if he could update the tool for the 128 bit header that the MDAIII has instead of the 64 bit header that of the XDAII and I.
You could try it as is though.
Anyone else have any luck dumping the full ROM from a UK T-Mobile MDAIII?
I'd like to get this crappy Imate ROM off my German MDAIII and load he latest T-Mobile UK WWE ROM...
Any and all help is appreciated!!
Same here. Someone must have one :|
I have a UK T-Mobile MDA III. If someone posts me a link to the required Rom dump tools and a quick walk thru or command line then i'll upload it.
Anything to speed up development on it as i really need it unlocked
Does anyone know if it would be possible to drop the T-Mo MDA III ROM into an XDA IIs?
I love the black case so much in comparison to the PDA2k and MDA III that I'd be willing to buy one and try it out. Of couse, there's also the issue of unlocking it if not already unlocked...
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!
Did you figure it out "gonesuper"?
Does anyone know if T-Mobile UK has a ftp site to download ROM updates like Qtek and Imate?
Nothing? If T-Mobile UK is selling the MDAIII through their business channels, where is the support URL to download software for it?
Hi,
I've found a site which describes how to backup the ROM to a SD card on an XDA IIs so presumably it would work for the MDA III? here's the link:
http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=151&PN=1
If anyone is successful I would dearly love to get a copy as I'd like to swap my MDA but not let them know that I've been screwing with incorrect firmwares!
Cheers, JDH
Now that the MDAIII is listed on T-mobile UKs website, does anyone know the web address for ROM downloads on T-mobile UKs websites?
Dagger ga, I am currently complaining to T-Mobile UK about this very issue and there is another guy in the same boat. The MDA III still have the bluetooth and mic issues and although T-Mobile Germany has seen fit to post an patch/upgrade (including blackberry) the support in the UK is non existent.
I would urge you to add your voice to mine and contact T-Mobile UK customer services/technical support. Hopefully at this rate they have got to start to listen to all of us. The non existent support is scandalous for such a high end device.
Incidentally I have written another post as expansys.com on this to the other person who has these issues. See the forum: imate/PDA2K if you are interested.

Hello,
The best thing to do is install another ROM eg, i-mate ROM, and then install all the T-Mobile Extended ROM files from backup...
To backup the extended ROM...
1) Download this file to your device and run it! - ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Extended_ROM_Kitchen_1_22/Tools/xda-developers _Unlocker.CAB
(this will installed the extended rom tools to your device.)
2) Under "Programs\Extrom Tools\" on your device click, "unlock" then click ok, next click "unhide" then ok! After this reset your device.
3) With the device ActivSync'd to your PC, browse to your device from you PC and you'll now see a folder called "Extended ROM" in the main "Device" window. In here are all your extended rom files. Copy ALL the files in this folder to your computer - DO NOT DELETE OR MODIFY ANY FILES IN THIS FOLDER (unless you know what you're doing)!!!
4) Go back into "Start\Programs\Extrom Tools\" on your device click, "lock" then click ok, next click "hide" then ok! After this reset your device.
5) ALL DONE - you should now have a copy of your extended ROM files.
Hope this helps...

Thanks to both DOM and the author of the above post.
I have got some reading and learning to do. Thanks for your patience for someone who is completely new to this whole xda world. No doubt I will have lots of questions along the way so I will keep this message short.

Best upgrade path from XDA IIs O2 to Orange M2000 ROMs?

Lo folks, wasnt sure which forum to post this in, so i posted here in 2 places.
first time poster here...just got me an XDA IIs O2 second hand but my sim is Orange, so i need to unlock then change ROMs to Orange.
Have been reading posts here and on wiki, so far i know i need to first download and run itsme's all-in-one unlocker right?
The next step is where i need advice. What are the most recommended rom packs for me to use? doesnt have to be the latest beta roms, just something to start me up down the orange m2000 route. If you guys name the files i need i'll take it from there and get em from the ftp.
I'm also confused by the wording of the rom names in ftp...should i be using the "upgrade" rom files? I'm trying to wipe all O2 stuff and replace with Orange.
Many thx in advance

Qtek 9100

Help, I have Qtek 9100 on the O2 network in England, it doesn't have all the O2 customisations so I'm thinking it is a basic Qtek ROM. At the moment it is running the 1.1.7.5. ROM. I'm looking to upgrade the ROM, the 2.1.7 seems to be the best. But despite reading through the forum I have some questions.
1 - Does the Qtek 9100 need CID unlocking? I've read that if I install the Qtek 2.1.7 upgrade I won't need to CID unlock the phone.
2 - Is the latest ROM shown on the Qtek site the 2.1.7. version?. I have tried to log on to that site but its says it does support the IMEI I've entered.
3 - What is Cingular?
4 - Could some one post the link to the 2.1.7 Rom English upgrade?, I've found a step by step guide to upgrading and loads of links to different ROM's But want to be sure that I've got the link to the right one.
5 - Is it worthwhile carrying out the upgrade, and how likely am I to bust my phone?
Thanks in advance for the advice, In short all I want the best upgrade with the least amount of hassle to upgrade.
Hi,
If you stick with the Qtek rom, you dont need to CID unlock...but it is worth doing for future use...as you can not CID unlock a v2 ROM....yet.
Cingular is a US phone company...like O2, T-Mob etc.
If you follow the instructions, you should be ok, i have done a couple, and touch wood have all been ok.
I think you need a ROM from this lot:
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wizard/Roms/Qtek/
but I dont know which one is the newest...most stable etc.
GOOD LUCK
I'm in a similar situation here, I've currently got the O2 Supplied 2.21.4.1 WWE ROM, most people here seem to be upgrading to other ROM's such as those supplied by QTEK... looking at the Wizard ROMS on the FTP, which one should I be upgrading to? And what are the 'prophet' ROM's on there?
think I've got it it sorted now, shouldn't need to CID unlock if I use the Qtek 2.1.7 release. Not sure I need any other companies Roms unless someone is going to tell me they have some features I can't live with out ?

O2 Wizard, Noob Help Please

Hi all, I just got an O2 branded wizard and I want to bring the device back to an unbranded state, ie: removing all O2 information from the device? Can someone let me know what to do.
Also, I know this is an O2 branded device but would I be correct to say that it is made by IMATE? Tried to register my phone with the I mate site but it would not allow me, I want to get on the site because I know it contains ROM upgrades and other helpful information. Am I right or should I just be looking somewhere else.
Thanks all in advance for you help.
This is a good place to start.

Then decide which rom you want to start with and load away. There are plenty to choose from.
all your questions are answered in the wiki
Molski's 3.0
I would recommend the Molski 3.0 ROM. Waiting for the Faria crossbow ROM also.

Want to flash my O2 Stellar with a new ROM, where to find O2 provider settings

Hi,
Newbie alert!
I am a UK post pay O2 user interested in flashing my Stellar with a new ROM. I have been reading the wiki and other posts about unlocking & flashing my phone, I am happy with doing all of that.
My main question is once I have flashed my phone I know I will lose all my O2 provider settings. Does anybody know where I can find these.
Also can any other post pay O2 Stellar users give me info about which ROM & Radio upgrades they have tried. Tips etc
Thanks,
Chief
hi there Buddy.
when You will flash a new rom, then Your o2 connection will be set up automatically. i.e. I have flashed my t-mob vario III with 6.0 wwe rom and autoconfiguration tool recognized my o2 simcard without any problems.
most of new roms have this tool build in (I know that Leo's Diamonds have it).
hope this helps
