i dont know about molski's aku 3.2. but on my aku3.2.1_35Mb this program works! i even drew new animated x-mas icons for it. see palm thread sms topic for more details
I upgraded to molski's new 3.2 rom and my Palm Messaging app works fine.

I'm using Molski's 3.2 and the sms part is dead, cannot send or receive sms not even notification.

I've tried it together with several AKU3.2 ROM versions and never had a problem.
Works well with Faria AKU3.2 RC1.
for the AKU3.2 people, do you guys cut and paste the 13 files? or just install the cab file?
I have it workign fine with molski's 3.2 as well

I just install the cab, I'm not that fond of the program though so I've ended up hardreseting within just a few hours after installation. So I can't really say that I've really put it to the test...
ok, thanks everyone, i'll give it a try

maybe when u over-write the files it causes errors, i did not think to try just installing the cab and running the app!
Why not try a program called SMS Threader. The developer has really worked overtime on the development lately, fixing a lot of annoying bugs that almost caused me to lose faith in this program.
best part - its free.

You need to know what they are but the standard ones show up no problem.

Howdy yall,
I've created 2 executable ROM upgraders for Cingular 8125 users.
The first is a RUU package that will restore an 8125 to it's 100% stock shipping state.
This file is on the ftp at:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Roms/Cingular/Cingular_RUU_1.8.11.1.WWE.ship.exe
The second file is a customized version of the latest Qtek AKU2 ROM. It requires that your device be CID unlocked to install. It includes the Qtek OS, Radio, IPL, and SPL ROM parts untouched. The extended ROM has been customized as follows:
-all Cingular customization cabs included EXCEPT "Singed_gprsstall_1228.sa.cab" which breaks wifi.
-cab created by ammar to allow enabling wireless Today screen item.
-SPCS cab to allow install of unsigned cabs
-PPCContactsMgr cab created by ammar to allow for selecting/deleting multiple contacts
-P_removeBTicon cab to remove the battery indicator in the tray
-P_DisconnectButton3s cab to allow for gprs disconnect when holding end key 3 seconds
SPLASH screen display order is set to Cingular, Cingular, Windows Mobile (same as stock)
I left the "Get Express mail" and Goodlink stuff despite wanting to blow it away.. =)
This file is on the ftp at:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Roms/Cingular/Cingular_RUU_WIZARD_217_AKU2_WWE.exe
Hopefully this is useful to Cingular folks who want to either go back to stock easily or go to the latest AKU2 ROM while maintaining Cingular customizations.
I take no responsibility for what happens to your device or the price of tea in China if you decide to use these RUU upgraders. I have swapped between the two versions several times today without problem.
your gonna make a lot of people happy with this easy process.
does this turn everything back to OEM spec ? including IPL etc ?

It does indeed. The IPL/SPL is returned to 1.08. I know there's probably a lot of folks who didn't want to try the new AKU ROM for fear of not being able to return to a 100% stock version....you can now do that easily.
Dude your awesome! I always put the newest rom on my device anyway, but its nice to know (in case device breaks) I can bring it back with no worries.
Absolutely awesome summiter! Just like the wayback machine that Mr. Peabody and Sherman would use in the old cartoon! Worked like a charm. (Forgot how slow that original ROM is...) Looking forward to installing your Cingular 2.17.
Thanks again dude, you're definitely gonna make a lot of people happy.

This is even better than what I was looking for originally. I wanted everything to be exactly like the 8125 on my Qtek 9100 because I'm on Cingular (I just like how the 9100 looks compared to the 8125). Now this came along as something even better - the newest Qtek 9100 ROM with the best combination of Cingular settings! I can't thank you enough!
EDIT: Hmm, everything works beautifully except one main thing: when I tried adding my GMail account to Outlook, I got to the point where it asks if it's a POP3 or IMAP4 account. I select POP3 and name it GMail, but when I click Next at the bottom, nothing happens. It's as if the button does absolutely nothing. Because of this, I can't add my email account because I can't proceed to the final step. Is anybody else having this problem?
I found it on Hofo posted by JediCorrado.
yanathin try this and let us know if it works.
Incoming Mail: pop.gmail.com:995
Outgoing Mail: smtp.gmail.com:465
under Options check "Require SSL Connection" "Outgoing mail requires authentication" "Use separate settings"
Click Outgoing Settings
Enter your username, password, check "Require SSL for outgoing mail"
The problem is that I can't even GET to the point where I enter my incoming/outgoing server... The "Next" button leading to that screen won't do anything. I had GMail working before the new ROM update just fine. (sorry for the slightly off-topic posts)
Sorry yanathin, was just trying to help.
I keep looking and post if I find anything.
biggie ups to you, summiter
so i'm a pansy, and i dinna have the brass ones required to futz with my stock cingular 8125... until this came along. just finished popping on the official qtek rom, and things appear to be running swimmingly. will mess around more later because i want a2dp so i can stop carrying my logitech dongle around, but thas neither here nor there.
excellent, EXCELLENT post. thanks much, chief.
EDIT: i got mine all set up, and i have to reflash, but i don't even care, because you're awesome in the first place for getting this up, and awesome again for fixing it on-the-spot-like. biggie ups again. downloading again now =)

It was one of the Cingular cab files. Apparently there was some issue with MMS and Cingular had a cab file that applied some sort of hotfix. Well this hotfix isn't needed with the AKU2 ROM and all it did was break mail. I've removed that portion of the offending cab file, repacked, and I'll upload the fixed installer afer I finish one more round of double checking. I've deleted the old one off the ftp, so when you see the 2.17 installer back up it will be the fixed version.

Were you using the original stock ROM when you had these issues?
I have 4 Wizards, and 3 of them had problems locking up and losing signal with the original Cingular ROM. Cingular blames the problem on bad SIMs. After flashing to AKU 2 I've had no problems with any of the devices, so the update is either handling flaky SIMs better or Cingular was taking the easy way out of the problem. haha
Folks,
I'm a experienced C/C++ programmer that's looking for interesting projects to try for the Wizard. Please post any application ideas you have here. Please start small and I'll post as I develop. Thanks!

Any idea has any ROM update solution for this? I'm Running latest official WWE ROM on Qtek 9100.

Folks lets try to get a listing of software that you may belive that causes problems with Molski's Rom. I think this will be benifical for newer users to be able to go to one place and see all of the software that we have experienced problems with so they do not have to.
If at all possible for every program that we list as a problem I would like to have an alternative.
From my experience.....
O2 sms plus (for mass sms messages) causes a problem with the native SMS software. It has been known to prevent you from reciving or send sms messages. I am currently hunting for another program but I have not had any luck.
Thanks to all the Chefs that keep us in some great ROMs, keep em comming!
I think we all know SPB time does not work...and man if you install it just go ahead and do a hard reset.
SPB time is one of my FAVORITES but if you want to keep the rom do not install it.

Not running any other software, only what came default with Molski's ROM.
I hate when I need to Add recipient manually every time I start writing SMS's.
Second big issue for me is, that I cant get QWERTZ-keyboard to work with this ROM. I'm finnish, so I need to use scandinavian letters alot almost in every SMS.
My plans for year 2007 are open, so calendar aint so big deal - but i'm still using latest Active Sync and still cant get it to syncronize past meetings.
I encountered problems with clock and date resetting after every time while takeing out battery. Also device stops responding randomly after some time of working in standby mode and nothing except taking battery out is making it to soft reset. But the second problem might be caused by programs I'm using... Do you have similar problems?

I have had this happen with the time and date going back to June 7th once I took the battery. I don't take the battery normaly so I just reset the time. Why is this a problem?
The system lockup is most likely software related, but what other software are you running. If possible I would try to reflash the Rom and install spb backup and backup after you install all the software that comes with the Rom that you use. Then install each additional software and due what you would normaly due when it locks up. If it works then backup again and so on and so on till you narrow the problem down.
This is what I do and it works for me but if there is an easier way that someone knows of please let us know.
This is the whole reason that I started this thread so we can learn from each others problems.
Hey guys I am new to the forum and I just did my first flash to my wizzard and I used this new 3.2 rom. I must say its amazing but I am having problems it keeps turning on by its self when I put it in suspend and the battery dies very fast and the phone book wont let me look up any names that start with V. Can you guys help me out with some advice?
For "Sun'n'moon" application, you can replace by "WeatherPanel" (www.marsware.net) very powerfull.
On my Wizard, 2 problems:
- Prssreader is not compatible with AKU3.2, when installed the phone boot crash.
Today, I don't have found better or equal rss reader software: --> please help me if you know better!!!!
- I don't like clock or date on my task bar, I want to remove it with "RegistryWizard" but when I choose "None" and restart, the sound and network icons are hidden by something: --> Can you help me too????
Molski's Rom is very fast when booting and is not too tunned! (good!!!). Thanks Molski for your work!!!
great rom so far only one minor prob.
1) no pRssReader. the today plugin causes a reboot. no big deal. must be badly written sw.

I've attached a copy of Qmail. It handles RSS feeds nicely. It will also handle email. Basically, its a Japanese version of Outlook Express. Good thing is that the program is written in English. But, there is NO documentation in English. You'll have to figure out how to make it work on your own.
There is not setup. Just unzip it and copy it to your storage card. Then just run the "q3u.exe" program.
Can not use slide-out keyboard for cyrillic characters
Guys,
The rom is great! Molski, Faria - thank you very much.
The biggest problem for me is that I can not type Cyrillic characters using the slide-out keyboard. The standard way to set it up (by setting \\HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\Locale) - does not work with this ROM.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
Hey man, It will not so bad.
Do you get back you backup by SPB Backup? The backuping programs sometimes damage devices GSM. Tray Hard reset and than it will be IMHO OK
I dont belive, that that ROM is such unusefull like you write.

Howdy. I just want to make sure I read this correctly. So, you have T-Mobile (from your profile) and Molski's ROM 3.0.0.0 and you have not lost -any- calls/VM Notifications at all? I mean, it took me a few days to realize I was missing calls (when people started complaining at me thinking I was screening).
I am in Cingular, and if you are not missing calls (please, try to make sure as accurately as you can...) do report back, as this would be a huge pointer and there are quite a few of us stuck with this awesome ROM.
[btw: I LOVE this ROM and have no plans to go back... we all just need to figure this one out]

Voice Command 1.5
Cant say if it was directly related to the ROM, but Voice Command 1.5 would work for all but contacts and phone. If Contacts or Phone were enabled, VC 1.5 would fail to start.

MS voice command not work on my HTC diamond, would you please help me, any body test any version on it?
I can't get MC1.6 to work on my Asian Rom 1.37 diamond. It gives an error after install...everything seems ok but when I go into settings, it hangs and I have to do a Hard reset
v1.6 UK made my phone lock up whenever I tied to access settings or programs. I had to hard reset the phone
yeah dont seam to work, you can use ciberon voice commander tho, works well.
you can download it from the TLR 3 ROM thread (in the rom development section)
Hi folks,
VC 1.6 definitively works on Diamond. I'm using it since I get mine last week.

Does this require any training or anything? Didn't need to download it as it came on my ROM with the phone. I've tried to use it 3 times now and each time its failed to hear anything I say. I used to use MS VC all the time with very little problem.

Yep, it definately works. You just have to be clever enough to manually upgrade it to version 1.6.19209 otherwise it'll keep hanging your Diamond
Not sure what UK version im running, but the install crashed. I restarted the phone, and now it works great with my Parrot Bluetooth carket.

I guess I am not clever enough. How did you do that?

Thats a US release isn't it?
Does it work properly with our "posher" (or even proper!) English accents
Cyberon Voice Commander

Yeah it works without any training, and works a treat for me, you have to follow the correct command tho (displayed when you open the app, eg say start <application name>)
Note: there is a program called 'Cyberon Voice Speed Dial' and that is NOT the same and does require training

Yes, it is the US release, but I'm Scottish so I'm not really bothered.
Never had a copy of the UK version but it involves manually copying these files from version 19209:
sapi.dll
sapiwavstr.dll
spcacheaudio.dll
vcbthag.dll
VCOSShim_PPC05.dll
coicecmd.exe
VoiceCommand_PPC.cpl
VoiceCommandWMP.dll
Phew...
Fairly easy to do. Install version 1.6.17913 then remove the shortcut in the Windows\Startup Folder. Soft reset so VC does not start. Copy all the above to Program Files\Voice Command with the exception of the CPL which goes in Windows. Put shortcut back into Startup, soft reset and away you go.
or go into my thread to see how I did it with the german version:

Hi Tom, Thanks for the tutorial. I did in fact read that post before. However, was you issue with MVC not working because it cause your Diamond to hang completely forcing a hard reset when you go into Settings?
I can install with the error like everyone here. However, it hangs and has to be hard reset when I go into settings.....with my previous Touch, I got the error too when installing the same file but it worked. It did take some registry changes to make it work with bluetooth.
