stuck on bootscreen (Serial v2. 08/USB v2. 08) - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Hi to all,
My device is stuck on bootscreen:
- Serial v2. 08 (outside of cradle)
- USB v2. 08 (inside cradle)
I' ve tried the solution:
-use Mitty, when stuck on bootscreen
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=934239&postcount=12)
but without success.
I See again:
- Serial v2. 08 (outside of cradle)
- USB v2. 08 (inside cradle)
Before of this I've used:
-xdadev_all_unlock-v1.5 (with success);
-after I've copied EnterBL.exe to my device and execute it for stupid purpose only
and now my device stuck as mentioned before.
I cannot connect it through ActiveSync 4.2 and simply stuck
I've read a lot of thing and suggestion on this forum and I've tried various solution but the device stuck and I'm too.
I'm a newbie and really I don't know if this is a bl mode or something else.
Someone can help me Please?
Thanks

Have you tried a soft reset?

you just need to find a different ROM and flash it using the file i attached. you are also going to have the change the htcruu files to ruu files. all u have to do is a simple renaming. try that and ur phone should be back to normal again soon.

Take care to mtty version 1.16 rather than 1.42
Hi and thanks to all,
the problem was the version of mtty.
the version 1.16 works fine
the 1,42 doesent
so now I've done the step
please look the attached image
and now my device work again
but without radio
on the screen on boot I read:
NO GSM
D 1.40 ETC ETC

mtty 1.16 link for download
I don't know if I can however I post the link for all that need the newer version of mtty

Stuck on bootscreen (Serial v2.06/USB v2.06)
Hi All,
thanks a lot for the great help,
I Have I-mate PDA2k with WM2003SE
I have ROM ver. 1.40.00
I tried to reflash my PDA2k as I found that the sound is no longer work as well as the SD card is no longer been recognized by the OS
Now I am stuck on bootloader (Serial v2.06/USB v2.06) screen after unsuccessful flashing my PDA due to power failure in my home electricity
I used MTTY V1.42, set 14 0, task 28 and task 0 commands and successfully the OS worked again, then I found new ROMs for WM2005, So I used XDAIII Ext. ROM unlock tool, after that the machine started to HANG so I made a Hard reset then it return to hang on BOOT splash screen again
so I used mtty again to reprepare the Disk On Chip to return to a clean OS
all above three commands executed successfully and after soft reset the PDA2k stuck in the boot screen, I tried hard reset as well but with no hope
I tried to use MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe to reflash the Rom nothing happen, I tried to use another official roms from I-mate but nothing happen I stuck in the bad bootloader screen, I tried to use d2s command to make a backup of my ROM but when the command is executed the USB v2.06 message disappers from screen
after all this, is there anyone can help me with a new idea on how to fix it.
Thanks alot on advance.

OK i know you are new.. and maybe, just maybe a bit nervous because you have a device you cant use..
READ THE DAMN WIKI ALREADY!
There are so many ways to upgrade a rom, or extract it,
Let me give you a little hint.. Use that really bright shiny search button up there.. (ok so its not bright and shiny, but it is there!)
Press the down arrow, choose advanced search,
then type in what you need help with,
then make sure that the forum is BlueAngel (on the right!)
then hit search...
That will bring all the posts with the words that you looked for in the BlueAngle section of the forum.
Multiple posting is stoopid.. This is the 6th post i have seen from you regarding your device that you could have solved using your own head, and searching for the answer istead of sitting on your backside waiting for someone to post the link to solve all your problems.
I know this sounds harsh, and scarcastic, and a tad evil... EVERYTHING I HAVE LEARNED ABOUT A HTC DEVICE, I HAVE LEARNED FROM THIS SITE,
and reading the wiki, and google, and all kinds of other services...
there is no shame in asking for help.. just exhaust all other options first!
@ jbodaa
please read above and take note as well!

1. Download Romupdate v1.11a
2. Stop ActiveSync, by Task Manager (press Ctrl + Alt + Delete) kill two processes rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe
3. put your device into Bootloader Mode by pressing Power + Record Button and Soft Reset.
4. Run Romupdate v1.11a (from downloaded)
5. from left top corner drop down menu Port: Choose WCEUSBSH001 (If you only see COM 1 and COM1 try unplugging the USB and replugging it)
6. press OK button
7. type "set 14 0" without the quotes in blank window that showed up to tell bootloader to boot the OS after reset.
8.press enter to execute
9. on next line you will see:
HTCST ÚÈÒHTCEUSB>
10.type "task 28" (no quotes) right after > sign to get your device formatted
11.press enter to execute, you gonna see:
DOC_format_HW+
DOCInfoTableinitHW+
Binary0:dwSize=80000
BINFS0:dwSize=0
FAT0:dwSize=1000000
FAT1:dwSize=2BA0000
All:dwSize=3C20000
USB>
12. type "task 0" (no quotes) right atfter > sign to ask your device reboot
13.press enter to execute the command
14. take the device out of the cradle, and manually reset it if it does not do that already.
good luck.

Flashing WM6 - have I got this right?

Just got my Trinity today, and have successfully unlocked it using pof's unlocker. I unlocked the SIM lock and the CID lock, so it's now SuperCID.
I want to put WM6 on it, the LVSW version. I've downloaded the three files in the sticky post. Before I do it, I want to check that I'm understanding it right, because I'm a bit confused with version numbers.
So...
1) First, I need to HardSPL by running the "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" file from the Hard-SPL.zip file, yeah? I ran this (but didn't flash it) and was confused because the new "Image Version" was 1.20 whereas the Image Version shown in the "current image" bit was 1.24.xxx. Usually, going backwards is bad but I may be misunderstanding.
2) I then need to flash the Radio ROM to 1.41 - why do I need to do this? I guess I run the "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" from the GSM_xxx_xx file, right?
3) Finally, I need to flash WM6 - by running the "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" file from the WM6 zip.
Is that right?
Just tried to flash both the HardSPL and the Radio ROM, and the ROM Update Utility always craps out after I select "Yes" to the security prompt on the Trinity.
"ERROR 246 DEVICE NOT RESPONDING" is displayed in the update utility. Any ideas?
Also, if I go to the bootloader manually (holding down the buttons) the version numbers are:
TRIN100
IPL-0.50
TRIN100
SPL-1.07.0000
But when I let the ROM Update program enter the bootloader, these are shown instead:
TRIN100
IPL-SSPL by Des
TRIN100
SPL-1.07.ds
What does it all mean? Very confusing! It won't let it update anyway, when I select "Yes" to the security prompt, the screen goes black, the ROM updater throws up the error 246 and then the Trinity shows the bootloader.

SPL by Des is a one time only SPL called SSPL-TRIN.exe, it's somewhere on this board. Sometimes it's baked into a ROM too ... it fakes the SPL.
HARD SPL stays on your phone .... doesn't need SPL by Des anymore.
Windows needs some time to switch from Windows CE to the bootlader driver. This can cause an error ...... just start the exe file again on the PC.
Another common flash error is with Vista, then you need to overwrite the default driver when you're in the bootloader. The driver is in "VistaRUU.zip"
Relaunch the Hard-SPL, then the radio ROM and after that LVSW or mUn's ROM.
There is a file you extract called EnterBootLoader.exe
I copy this to the Memory card.
Then before I run the update I run this on the memory card.
The phone goes to the boot loader and then once windows has re-detected it I run the update.
This seems to have eliminated all problems I've ever had flash updating.

I just tried this, but Windows doesn't seem to want to detect the presence of the device when I do. ActiveSync reports that nothing's connected.
Well I've got the Hard-SPL and Radio ROM to flash - instead of leaving ActiveSync connected I just went into the bootloader manually and did it that way.
But now I'm trying to flash WM6 and it gets up to 8% and then craps out with Error 286 - communication errors.
The device now won't boot past the bootloader
What do I do now?
Bloody hell. It's amazing, it really is.
I had it plugged into my USB hub.
Took it out and plugged it directly into the PC, just on the off-chance that the hub was screwed up.
It's all working fine now, I think!
Typical. Thanks for the assistance anyway guys.
Nps. Glad you got it sorted
Is the USB Hub powered? If not that will cause a ton of problems!
It's supposed to be powered, but I'm starting to think that the power supply might be faulty!
hi guys,
2 questions if i can;
1)What is HardSPL?
2) Why are there 3 steps to getting WM6? why can I not use the "ROMUpdateUtility.exe" file from the WM6 zip straight away?
Thanks a lot!!
Same Problem as GazChap
Hey All,
I was having the exact same problem as GazChap with the same configuration to start out with.
This is what I did:
1)plug in my p3600 to the USB
2)let synchronize, and hopefully finish, otherwise stop it
3)run HARD-SPL; this usually freezes after the first go and stalls in the bootloader
4)run HARD-SPL again; this time it will finish. You will have to turn on your machine again after this.
5)run AX3L ROM 2.0.8.2; this ALSO usually freezes after the first go and stalls in the bootloader
6)run the ROM again; This time its gonna work...
Now it works..
brick time
I loaded the hard spl succesfully. I could not get the radio upgrade to load no matter what I did. My instructions said it was optional, so I went directly to the WM6 rom exe load and it has a perpetual communications error after about 8% even though the WM6 loader says each time that recovery is successful. I have a tricolor screen (bootloader?) on my 3600 which won't respond to anything I have thought of yet. Anything I can do other than pitch it? Help! And thanks in advance.
ok, just want to make it short: (P3600 user)
1. I have WM6.1 ROM (FleNover 3.3 Black edition) installed.
2. When I want to downgrade to WM6 official, after 20% it goes error.
3. Now, it only shows 3 colors.
4. Here is my PDA information in 3 colors:
TRIN100
IPL-1.00
TRIN100 MFG
SPL-1.30.Olipro
5. When I want to upgrade with WM6 official, after my PDA shows the progress bar, it restarted and the update screen shows Error 286.
6. How do I fix it?
thank you very much

P3600i cant get in bootloader mode

I can't flash or anything(get in 3 colour bootloader) for my P3600i.
I mean it is work but sometimes it hard reset by himself or freeze.
i just can get in USB or serial mode n write Ver.1.20 (with blank screen n just Serial or USB when i get in my cable)
radio ver.1.11
rom ver.1.11.00 WWE
So i decide to flash it.But when i want to get in bootloader mode,it freeze n hang.
n so when i run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe from [P3600i] HardSPL v1.1 files, just same result from anytype of this rom, when i try to flash
i must reset for it.
I had tried copy [P3600i] HardSPL v1.1 into memory card (SD or MMC) then run EnterBootloader.exe from P3600i explorer, just the same result.
Any idea?
i dont know what i must do anymore now.

I don't understand why you need to use mtty here. I hope you didn't break your SPL.
Try to use the tool from pof to change to state of the WM side from bootloader mode to standard mode.
Hi thaihugo!!!
have already effected this procedure, but doesn't work!
INFORMATION:
when i re-make the hardspl, after the message "... congratulations" the snapvue him reset automatically or I have to shotdown the device (2 minutes) without battery/simcard and restart?

Can you please share how you resolved the issue - just in case someone has something similar in the future...thanks
Yes, this is the future, and I am that someone who could have benefited from the solution. Too bad it ain't here.
Get updated (its old actually) shagcontrol & u may hv more options in snapvue tab. soft-reset & hard-reset (clear snapvue) options & flash last known good / original rom using cmonex flashtool / pof customruu.
I managed to solve my pretty nasty issue with the ECSHIFT.exe tool, , had to put my device in bootloader and flashed another ROM. It felt like a near death escape but in retrospect it seems to happen more often.

At last you are in the clear now
Lucid my man, do you have a link to the ecshift.exe guide thread?? If there is one of course, so I can put it in my library
ECSHIFT
From CMonex :
download: http://hpcmonex.net/ECShift.exe
you can type ecshift.exe -help to get command info
but the ones that are actually useful commands:
ecshift.exe -bl enters bootloader
ecshift.exe -mode0 exits bootloader (do a soft reset to get back to WM after this command). no battery removal needed!
ecshift.exe -reset soft reset
ecshift.exe -gm status info, mode 0: normal mode, mode 1: bootloader
USAGE:
to enter bootloader mode you need to:
1) run cmd.exe on vista on the shift while the snapvue side is not powered down (doesn't matter if it can't boot to WM).
2) run this command: ECShift.exe -bl
PLEASE give administrator rights to the program if needed!
3) wait until it says it successfully entered bootloader (if you get an error message please let me know)
4) disable WMDC on your shift!!! means under wmdc you must tell it to not allow usb connections!
5) download a special version of mtty for vista from http://hpcmonex.net/mtty_0513_Test.exe and run it
6) select USB in it and you should be in bootloader OK
so if you want to hard reset then do step 7:
7) issue this command: task 28
that's it, you can reboot after exiting bootloader (command: ecshift.exe -mode0, then -reset, or you can also remove battery), this should hard reset your device.
two things:
if mtty can't see usb then remove battery, reboot the snapvue and try the app again.
and bootloader is not tricolour screen, it is black.
and AGAIN, please do not ever try issuing task 2a! never! it will brick the device!
Can't find USB
Hi. I did something wrong I guess. I flashed the first RomeOs release and it seemed to be OK. Suddenly I had problems. Nothing worked. I tried to reset and then it happened - blank screen.
I have tried almost everything buyt nothing helps. Now I have tried this EShift thing but I can not find USB from that other exe. I have disabled USD form my WMDC...
Help...
@6sto
What USB u need? Just flash last known good working rom from xp/vista/seven side. BTW, which version did u flashed?
Monx, A hunch, I suspect something in your preconfiguration script or bootscript makes the Shift hard Reset or fail completely. But I just see you released version 1.03 and that's just what I will flash now.
I want your ROM. It's sweet and SnapVue sexy.

[SOLVED] Touch HD is dead???

Hi all!
first of all sorry for my Egnlish
I tried to perform task29 on my HD and get an error "Invalid vender ID", in some guides i read that in this case I should use a stock .nbh files... I tried the .hbn file from HSPL thread from one of restore_stock_spl* zip files. task29 was performed normally. When I turn on device I can see the clear smart mobility screen only with "smart mobility" words in center. bootloader now showing me 1.54 Olinex version. Before task29 this version was 1.56.
And from this moment I can't do anything with device: I can't flash any rom or radio. When using RUU after three-colour screen device shows me a progres indicator which suspends on 0% and RUU progress is also 0%. after waiting some time RUU shows an "262 Update erorr". When I'm trying to flash ROM or radio from SD card I see the three-colour screen then grey screen "loading... No image file!!!" and then again the three-colour screen. It shows so fast that it looks like a screen blinking and almost impossible to read what is written on grey screen.
I have spend 3 days while looking for different files and flash packages, have read a guides and I'm at a loss.
Please helpme to make my HD work again!

Have you tried flashing stock rom which came with your device?
I have tried .nbh file from "HTC Stock ROM_BLACKSTONE_1.14.401.3 (22273) WWE.zip"
if it possible tell me what exactly should I download and how to use it, I'll try. I'll try everything you advise, because I didn't find solution myself and don't know what esle should I try. first of all where should I start? do I need to perform task29 correctly or do I need to restore HSPL to 1.56 version, or flash a stock rom?
* Dont connect your phone to your computer.
* Hold down the Volume down button and hit the power button.
* Your entering the tricolor boot screen and at the bottom the word "Serial".
* Now connect you phone to your computer with te USB cable the word serial disappear and now it says USB.
* Now you can normally flash/update your phone and please use hspl.
I had before a HTC Diamond. On that device I used to run "task29" until that command killed my device. Almost same as you, I could flash the device but I couldn't boot normally. My ROM memory probably got damaged for good so I had to replace the device with a new one. My suggestion to you: on a new device never use that command again and you will be fine.

it's terrible, hope my devise still alive...
There is one detail I didn't mentioned... If download task29 package and just simply execute task29.exe (using .nbh from this package) progress on device goes forward to 4% and then "Invalid vender ID" error occurs... So I think I should use another .nbh file but which one?. Hope this checking of vender ID is not that 4% of progress and some actions with device memory really starts...

Try using a radio nbh for blackstone.
The original package, contains nbh for the LEO
thanks all of you for replay but I still need a help very much.
there are ways that I have tried
1. flashing rom/radio from SD card
2. flashing rom/radio using RUU
3. task29 using different .nbh files
4. install/restore HSPL
In the first way always hapens same thig: I turn off the device, turn it on, press volume down button, see tricolor bootloader screen, then for a very short time (less than second) i see a grey screen and there is written: "loading... No image file!!!", then i see tricolor bootloader again.
I tried different rom/radio files (it was "HTC Stock ROM_BLACKSTONE_1.14.401.3 (22273) WWE" and other roms I flashed before and different versions of radio files from thread int this forum).
for the RUU using ways I always get two situations: I turn off the device, turn it on, press volume down button, see tricolor bootloader screen, connect the devise to PC, execute RUU/taks29/HSPL/Restore_SPL, then press next a few times, then i see the progress in RUU and on device screen and there is two endings:
1. progress goes up to 4% and devise making a soft reset, load the black smart mobility screen with no orange version characters on screen bottom, RUU shows "Invalid vender ID";
2. progress suspends on 0% and after some timeout RUU shows "Error [262] Update error" and now changes on device screen.
last what I have tried: execute task29 with last hd radio 1.17.25.09 file and got invalid vendor id error, then execute task29 with radio 1.09.25.14 file and got update error.
my be this holds some information: in my bootloader is written following
BLAC100 32M
SPL-1.54.0000
MicroP-BlackStone (LED) v6
what should I do?

thanks all of you for replay but I still need a help very much.
there are ways that I have tried
1. flashing rom/radio from SD card
2. flashing rom/radio using RUU
3. task29 using different .nbh files
4. install/restore HSPL
1. progress goes up to 4% and devise making a soft reset, load the black smart mobility screen with no orange version characters on screen bottom, RUU shows "Invalid vender ID";
2. progress suspends on 0% and after some timeout RUU shows "Error [262] Update error" and now changes on device screen.

Hmmm... I want to know, what .nbh file did you include in the task29 folder you have? Remember, you must to copy a radio ROM to your task29 folder and name it as RUU_signed.nbh, don't copy an OS ROM to task29 as this will give problem.
From the information above, seems you had restore to original SPL? Try flash HSPL or USPL. If you have any problem flashing, you can ask in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
Good luck, my friend. Cheers.
Agree with philrom: you are an the stock SPL. So, flash HSPL, then you should be fine.

Yes. Sorry I forgot to post the ending of this story...
I didn't understood about flashing HSPL in formated device... I was really tired of using different ways and flashing different roms... I just took my device to a not official service center (there is no Touch HD for my country). There guys said me that I need to flash a stock rom of my HD birthplace country. They found out that it was shipped from Arab Emirates, than they found a required ROM and flash it. It cost me 50$. Now I'm using my HD as usual.
Thank for the replays!!!
Glad you got it resolved

Yep that's one way of solving it
But your last link doesn't work.
I suggest the following to reboot the phone to AP Fastboot mode (also called 'bootloader' in the android world):
Hold power, vol - and vol + for about 10sec. At the moment the phone reboots, release all buttons except the vol -. U will now boot in AP Fastboot mode. Release the vol - when in AP Fastboot mode.
But before doing this, make sure RSD-Lite is working and u have the right device drivers and right firmware at hand. See the above links.
So first the first link for the drivers and rsd-lite.
Then the second link for you latest firmware 4.1.2 (region)
Then my piece about rebooting
And last the First link again to flash your firmware.
Links not working

Thanks a lot for your advice and also sorry for troubling by two posts for single issue, will take care onwards
You have guided in very simple manner but the problem is that I
1 - RSD-Lite is not opening as it says ''find the app to open msi file''
2 - The 4.1.2 region I found is .... Android 4.1.2 Blur_Version.91.2.29001.XT890.Retail.en.GB is it ok?
3 - This link is giving error ''404 Page Not Found The page you requested was not found. Use the search tool below to find content on our site.'' where you said to power down the phone look at this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2220242
4 - And last the First link again to flash your firmware. ... I am not sure which first link is it? if its about RSD Lite thn its not opening in my pc dear
I am using windows 8 on my Laptop .. anything else to download to support or open this RSD lite first?
Also my phone is not going on boot by trying your suggested method as well... it is just reopening on its own and going on its problematic ''app starting'' screen error n thn goes off n restart again unless it consumes all of its battery
Without phone its like someone has cut the wings
Please help brother !!!
Thankks

Ok, new one.
First the phone should reboot in my way. There is no possibility it will boot to the screen with android "app starting" if it is executed right . Try few more times and get the hang of it. Hold all 3 buttons and at the moment the phone reboots (vibrate, screen goes black and green led will shine a bit after), only hold the vol -. Just release the power and vol+.
There is another way to get to Ap Fastboot mode. It requires you to have adb up and running. Search on the internet for adb (can be found in the razr i subforum) and again make sure your device drivers are installed correct.
If you think al is set and ready. Boot your phone normally to that screen with the message. Then open a command-prompt and type "adb devices". If it says, can't find adb. Open the command-prompt in the adb folder with holding shift and right mouse button. and click command-prompt. When adb devices gives u a device. Type in "adb reboot bootloader" to get into AP Fastboot mode.
If you have issues with executing msi files there is something wrong with your windows. Try and search on the internet to solve that.
Let us know how it goes

Soooo Happy and Grateful to you Mr Genius and Well on time ANGEL''
I realized two things while following all the guidance, First is; I admit that I was too ''NIL'' to understand and act on simple method of rebooting so after few times practices I was able to execute it right. Second that I am not that dumb as finally I was able to notice the issue of ''not opening MSI'' extension as only ''a dot'' was missing in the name of downloaded file, so I have added that ''dot'' in between of 4 and msi ... (4.msi) and rest your software has worked very quick and automatic & I found my phone's breath back...
So bundle of thanks for your quick and kind support brother.
Be Blessed
