Ok, I was wondering if anyone else was having a problem using midi ring/event sounds in the recently released AKU 3.3 with Crossbow enhancements ROM. Most of my midi ringtones don't play at all and those that do are horribly distorted. I don't think it's a hardware problem since Windows Media Player and CorePlayer (the commercial version not the included one since it doesn't play midi's at all). Almost all of my personalized per contact ringer id's are midi's so this is a major problem for me.
Other than this problem I'm really loving this ROM, kudos to Faria and everyone else who worked on this ROM ^_^
I too have that problem.
I'm using that WWE release WM6 ROM, and my .mid ringtones won't play.
Usually I'm using .mp3 tunes, but now I got my service providers sound theme, and I want to use it, bot no chance in hell...
What to do? :-S
i have no idea who on earth would use MIDI ringtones over MP3
Thats like going back to wooden spoons
You poor people

Truthfully I use .m4a (Nero Digital AAC) @ .15 quality for my 'real' song ringtones but there are some songs with somewhat explicit lyrics that I'd rather use midi's for. I'll probably be doing a bit of music editing when I wake up later today to make some more ringtones if I don't find a fix for this...
I had the same problem with midi ringtones, and did some search, then found this.

On that page, you search for "patch", download it and install on your device.
Although we use differen ROM, it should work for you too.
Good luck

Hi,
I tried using Windows Media player to play songs but they do not support copy right m4a files and other misc audio formats. Thus i used TCPMP player which is good to solve the problem but it does not have a SEARCH function.. any advice and other takes on other audio players?
Audio Manager is good. Works when display is off.
S2P or Slide 2 Play is the best one.
Audio manager is good but you can't specify a single folder to use, it will automatically scan for all mp3 and sometimes other audio files on the mem card. I it wasn't for that I would say Audio Manager.
I tested S2P but it does not have the SEARCH function, it doesn't even support playlist function... but its interface is very nice... any more better audio players out there?
I use Mortplayer and I also tried GSPlayer earlier on (both shouldn't be hard to find).
DUDE, this is a phone not an mp3 or a qps device. You don't need to play audio..
tcPiMP gets my vote.
Mort Player
Mort player is my favorite!
It has it all - great for Audio books too!
Get it here:
Stable version
Beta version
Vista Skin
or see below...
Enjoy!

are you kidding me? why do people like you always chime in like this w/ irrelevant replies
"i dont use my phone for this, so i think its dumb that anyone else uses its for (blank) purpose"
if you forgot, there are phones like the iphone, sony ericson music phones, nokia n series, etc that are great multipurpose phones...which is EXACTLY what the kaiser is. if you're gonna stick w/ that ideology why don't you stick to a nokia 3395.
PocketMusic Rocks
For me this is a serious bit of kit. It's my phone, GPS, personal organizer and now an MP3 player in the car. That was made possible with PocketMusic - http://www.pocketmind.com/pmfp.htm
Get the full version otherwise the real benefits are not seen.
I think the built in manilla mp3 player stinks so hard i cant describe it :-D
So are there any good MP3 players around, preferably where you dont have to use the stylus.
Whats your favourite MP3 player for the Diamond?
i would really like the audiomanager seen on the touch cruise etc. on my diamond. Too bad i haven't found a working version till today for the diamond
audiomanager is great, to use with scroll wheel and fingers and is fast.
Definitely S2P...
I'm using S2U2 also... they work great together

Nothing beats Coreplayer for a complete media solution!

Custom music tab
I have downloaded bunch of cd's on my Diamond with album covers.
But i have problem creating "Playlists on the Music tab"., like the one that came pre loaded with phone.
PLEASE HELP !!!
I have found a 6.1 ROM (NotATreoFan's) and a radio (1.71.09.01) that I like, so things have progressed well. The only problem that I have remaining is TCPMP. Using the new recomp 3 version offered here, it runs fine, except for the equalizer, which, when enabled, creates tremendous distortion (same on the ATT Official ROM). TCPMP's equalizer worked fine on 6.0. I need to cut out certain frequencies due to an ear problem.
So, I am looking for suggestions of how to solve the TCPMP problem or find an alternative equalizer solution. Suggestions?
You use core player for music or video's
I found the MortPlayer perfect for music even with large playlists (several gig). When using the eq. with custom settings check the pre-amp. settings.
Hi there all. I aprieciate your work so much. I would like to start learning from you, so please can you help me in this topic:
Seems i like your various ROMs, and i am inspired by cooking and so, i would like to ask you how to do few things like this:
I need to make a room wich consist only the aplication i like, and not aplication from Microsoft, eg:
1. I would like to have in my room Opera 9.5 instead of Internet Explorer
2. I like SmartMovie much better then WMedia Player, can we remowe WMP and place Smart Movie there?
And, so on. Removing the unwanted crap, placing only what you like, and what takes less space...
Is it possible? Can anyone explain me how to do it?
Thanks a lot.
PS. I would need some links, where from i can learn about cooking. Can anyone send me some?
You better try IE only.

I also tried the same thing, replacing WMP with the much better CORE-PLAYER. But once you remove the WMP, you are unable to play mp3, wma, midi as ring tones. you can only use wav files for your tones thereafter. Removing IE might not give you enough space to replace it with OPERA. But you better try. There are kitchens that comes with standard MS apps as OEMs. check the files & registry in them & remove them from your rom while cooking. Good luck.

is this only refers to ring tones? because if yes, then there is o problem to use the wav.
.ok. thanks, any help with cooking lessons?

Yes, the problem is only with ring/sms tones. Otherwise you can play your music from the player you add. Download and read the instructions on Arther's kitchen for cooking.
I am a long term kaiser owner, couple of years now.
I decided to try it as my day to day mp3 player. I normally use a Sony dedicated player but as I have a spare 16GB micro SD, I thought I would put that to use.
Does anyone have any tips on a good audio player that is installable as a cab because I have no real knowledge of flashing custom roms (apart from orginal ones, ie, setup.exe, next, next )
many thanks all for a great place for info
Best AudioPlayer i.m.o is PocketPlayer download the demo give it a shot
Best audio player and it's FREE...is Mortplayer. I use it on my TyTN II and have used it for many years now. I am unable to upload cab, but the latest is MortPlayer-v3.31b77. You won't need another mp3 player. Just Google it and you'll find it.
cheers all
Sadly I used the windows media player, there was a way to turn the screen off with it so I used it.
NITROGEN IS THE WAY TOO GO
fast, simple, light, and you change change the skin
always been using this
yeah windows media player all the way
The only thing I have to say about Nitrogen is that it does not sort my memory by album, artist, etc... Otherwise, I MUCH prefer Nitrogen to anything else, just feels 'right'... all the buttons do what I feel they should do, the scroll wheel is the volume, and the volume is independant of all other sounds on the device. Allows me to balance my voice navigation agaist my mp3s, etc.
How does Mort player stand up?
+1 for Nitrogen
