AKU 3 ROM and Voice Command 1.6 - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I installed the latest AKU 3 ROMS from Faria and co. Both version 1 and 2. I tried to install VC v1.6 CAB file into device memory. Every time, I get "the installation is unsuccessful" error message. Am I doing something wrong? The CAB file is located on my memory card.

I've sucessfully installed VC1.6 with Faria's V2 with no problems. I installed from the main memory though. Try that first. i installed to my main memory too.

I also use this with no issues. I installed through activesync though.

VC cab
I have an .exe file that I have to install from my desktop for MSVC 1.6 but I have been looking for a cab file so I can keep it on my SC to re-install when flashing. Any idea where I can find this cab file?

Can someone help me please ?

After my first hard reset my qtek g100 lost the midlet manager link the jmm.exe also. Is there any way to install midlet manager again ?
thank you
Have you lost only the shortcut to jmm.exe or the complete application. If it's only the shortcut then you can easily create one with the built-in file explorer. If the whole application is gone, then check the ftp site for the cab file under the Extended ROM folder.
Downloaded the 'WM5 BA - TuMa v1.3 - Release' zip file and extracted the MidletManager-TuMa CAB. Passed it to the QTEK g100 storage card and instaled it. No errors so far. After installation made a soft reset. Midlet Manager link was there in Programs. The jmm.exe, etc also installed ok. However clicking the link or the jmm.exe file directlly nothing happens. What am I doing wrong ?

Question about AddOn folder in the rom update

I noticed that the VoiceCommander1.6.cab is included AddOn folder after I unzipped the "Helmi_WM2k5_AKU3.2_32mb_v1.3.2_16mb_bitpool_32mbRamdisk.rar"
I have the Cyberon Voice Commander 1.6 for other language, can I just simply overwrite the VoiceCommander1.6.cab? Do I need to modify something such as registry etc?
That should not cause my rom update to fail, right?
If I have other application that I want this rom update install automatically, can I just simply put the cab file into the "AddOn" folder?
You need to modify the cfg.txt file in the \ExtROM\ folder in order to auto-install programs.
The \ExtROM\ folder should be copied to \Storage card\ on your BA before upgrade. Nothing from the AddOn will be instaled.

If ur difference languange Cyberon 1.6 (Build 1.5) is already patch for PH20B device then u might use it not my version, if not already patched, pm me to patch it I'll tell u where to patch it (hex editor is needed).
about extended rom cab bro _TB_TB already answer ur question... just copy the file u need from addOn dir, and copy to somewhere at ur SD card, or better on ExtROM folder with the rest cab and modify the cfg.txt to execute it after HR...
about wince.nls there's a cab for replace it, but I dont it'll will work on AKU ROM maybe u need to modify the rom directly, or if i found the cab I'll send u, maybe u can test it.
EDIT:
copy ur customize wince.nls to \Temp\ dir on PDA and install this cab, I dont thing its will work, but give it a try.
Great! You folks are so helpful.
I will play around with the wince.nls first in the rom to see if it work and give you folks an update on that (when I got my new 4 G SD card and start to upgrading to WM5), coz I remember the old rom does contains a wince.nls in the root.
For the "Cyberon VoiceCommander v1.6" my version is Build 50824.1 that I downloaded from a PDA forum, it works so far ok on my i-mate PDA2k WM2003 se, is that patch for WM5? if without patch, what will happend?(or say the question in another way, how do I know if it is patched or not)
I have attached my version , "Cyberon VoiceCommander v1.6" version is Build 50824.1, some sort of Green, it installed most of the stuff in the SD card. Causion: it is not Engilish

Autorun.exe Help Required

Can anybody help me with a problem
I want to autoinstall some cab files on a wm5 wizard. (Like tomtom does under wm2003)
Problem WM5 don't want to install!!!
I have used the 2577 folder and the autorun from tomtom, renamed my cabs to the tomtom names (ttn.cab, gps.cab etc) this works fine under wm2003 but will not install on wm5
Does Anybody have a hacked autorun.exe that installs cabs on wm5 or
a Hacked extended rom autorun.exe that reads the config from the storage card instead of the extended rom.
The second option would be better as then all i have to do is re-write the config for different sd-cards
Please Please Please help me all you programmers/hackers/reverse-engineers or whatever you would lke to be known as.
Many thanks in advance
Autorun reads the ini from the /ExtendedRom/ location and that is hardcoded..
I can't be changed because it will render the certificate invallid.
However you can use:
PocketPC Installer ( http://www.pocketpctoolkit.com/index.htm )
It will make an autorun.exe for you (to install cabs registry keys etc etc..)

Doesn't Autoconfig.exe just reads the Config.txt file from the same directory?
Just change the Config.txt so it fits your needs and I think you will be done.
Only problem is that every app will be installed to Main Storage.
I actually have to know this, but cannot try it right now, my device is flashing one of my test Roms

The one from orange (NLD) doesn't. It reads the one in the extended rom.
Have disassebled it with IDA-pro, there I saw the strings pointing to the extended rom.
After patching it I got a certificate error when I tried to run it..

TyTN II - installing cabs

Help
Ok thanks to this helpful site I have flashed my ROM with Dutty's v3 beta and I must say its fantastic. But...
...I need to add Remote Desktop and I have downloaded it from Dutty's cabs but I haven't a clue on how to install it!
Can any one help?
Thanks.
How to run a cab (?)
Well, if it is that what you are asking, just copy the .cab file into a folder at your card or phone and execute it. Cab is the equivalent to .exe files on PC's.
NOTE: During the installation, you have to specify where to install, device or card. For this specific application, (remote desktop) you should install it at your device as some issues have been reported when installed on an extension card.
Seems so daft now - thanks for that - got confused as WinRaR just opened it and showed the contents on the PC.
Anyways, working now. Thanks again.

If you have original disk and already have it installed on your computer, just un install it via add/remove programs from windows, then sync your device and run the set-up exe. again, its a pain but that is how I have done it when ever i need to reload it to my Tilt.
After you install the program to your computer...Search for *.cab. You will find it and not have to go through the steps above.
