Missed calls on WM6 ROM + 2.47 Radio anyone? - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Has anyone else noticed their wizards missing calls and txts since updating to WM6? It seems to have the same problem that the AKU3.x ROMS have with missed calls, but not as bad. So far I've noticed that I'll miss a call if the phone has been in standby for a couple of hours. Wake it up and phone calls start coming through again. I'm using 2.47 radio from molski's 2.26 final rom, and had no problems with missed calls before I replaced 2.26 with WM6.
WM6 Crossbow + 2.47.11 Radio (Molski.Biz.AKU2.3)

I have on at least one occasion. So I'm not sure if that was a fluke or a similar problem you face. I've got the same setup though, WM6 (Orwells) with the 2.47.11 radio.
I've also noticed weird things with this ROM such as email notifications that are setup to blink the light on the phone amber with no limit and also ding. Sometimes I checked to see that I did get an email according to the Today Screen plug-in, but it never dinged or flashed the amber light. So I will soft reset it and it then it works fine.

Phone did not show missed calls and voicemail indicator does not show either. I called my voicemail and there were a ton on messages.

2.47.11 Radio Rom

IT HAS BEEN STATED MANY TIMES! That this is a beta rom. There are lots of bugs and problems with these roms. These are not final roms. They were still in testing when they were leaked. From what i have seen and read some people were recommending going with the 2.19 radio rom. i have the 2.26 radio and it works good enough for me here in southern ca. i have had no problems at all. So try flashing with another radio or just switch back to a more stable rom guys. Good luck

Hi
I had same problem but installed 2.19 radio rom and everything is fine. Therefore I say use 2.19 radio rom, works best with AKU 3.3 rom.

FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE USING WM6 !!!! INSTALL RADIO VERSION 2.19 IT IS THE ONLY VERSION THAT WORKS WITH ANY ROM SO DOWNLAOD AND INSTALL IT !!!!! with other radio roms u get missed calls and other problems so the best way to solve is to install radio ROM version 219 this has been discussed in many topics in Farias and molskis ROMS and in WM6 roms threads.

Are you talking about the file "T-Mobile-UK_2.19.11_Radinly.zip" on the FTP site ?
Because I saw indeed strange things with my phone and after reading this post, I checked and saw that I was using radio 2.47.11

i live in an area with a weak signal. in the 2.19 radio my reception is much worse and i have a larger area in which i get no reception at all.

hello, i have the 2.47.11 and no problems. SMS, GPRS, Bluetooth ... Al works perfekt-

same with me i think it depends were you live. like me 2.19 doesent work for me i would get dropped calls.

Well. I live in a large metro area so coverage is usually excellent. I don't have problems with missed calls when using AKU2.x ROMs. Its just a prob with AKU3.x and WM6 ROMs. When I played with AKU3.x ROMs, changing the radio ROM didn't make much of a difference. Even so, I went ahead and downgraded the radio to 2.19.11 anyway to see if it makes a difference in WM6. Also, the problem only occurs after the phone has been on standby for a couple of hours or more.
WM6 + 2.19.11 Radio ROM

I wonder if it has to do with GSM 850/1900
I wonder if it has to do w/ different ROM's liking different GSM frequencies. Cingular's (I'm sorry 'the New AT&T') network is so mixed up, it uses a combination of all 3 frequencies. At least T-Mobile's frequencies are consistant throughout their network, but their coverage isn't as good.

I live in a big city and usually have good coverage. The 2.19.11 radio does have significantly weaker signal reception than the 2.25 or 2.47 radios. Unfortunately I had to make a choice between staying on AKU2.x and using the radio of my choice or going with AKU3.x and sticking with 2.19. Right now I am testing the 2.61 radio and it seems to be working with AKU3.3. I have had 2 calls that went directly to voicemail but I am beginning to think that was just a network fluke and not an issue with the radio. No delayed or missing notifications. All attempts to call my phone are making it to the phone. Testing is still in progress and maybe the issue just hasn't reared its ugly head yet. But I am beginning to be hopeful that I can have my cake (AKU3.3) and eat it too (good radio)

I've uploaded the radio rom only file here
Thanks - I've gone down to 02.19.11 from 2.47.11 because of the missed call problem. Will test for a week or so and let everyone know how it works out.
Finally a fix for U.S. users
The underlying problem was the newer radio stacks. The 2.19 Radio is on the FTP site under wizard rom;s tmobile. I can't take credit as see previous post, but thought it deserved it's own thread.
I can confirm it fixed the missed call problem U.S. Cingular 8125 on Cingular network. Overclock to 240 mhz and voicecommand 1.6 and wow smoking fast phone and bluetooth headset seems to work better!
I can't install that Radio Rom. It is in Italian and gives me some sort of error. Got an English or WWE copy by any chance? THanks for the tip!

How about sharing the source of the English version?????
The version I posted works on G3 and G4. Don't think there's an English installer yet for G4 devices. Just click avanti (next) until it flashes the radio rom.
Nice to see that 2.19.11 also works for the Cingular users!
A link to the file here!
This is VERY interesting! I had to drop Faria's 3.2 ROM because of this issue, even though it's been my favorite ROM so far. Has it had any affect on the battery drain? That was one of the other issues I contended with, however not near as big a concern as the calls/msgs not getting through. I'm looking forward to giving this another try.
FWIW, that is the Radio ROM I had, and this morning it installed fine. Maybe it had to do a couple of soft resets first. Anyway, I am hoping you nailed this one because I too like the Faria ROM best (and I also had the battery drain issue with it).
English Installer for the Dutch 2.19.11 Radio Rom.
Guys, i repackaged the Dutch T-mobile 2.19.11 Radio Rom with an English Installer. Go to this thread:
Wizard Radio Rom Only Updaters
It should work with both G3 and G4 chipsets as I used the same installer that is included in the other packages.
Enjoy...
Thanks, Kyphur - I'm right in the middle of reinstalling Faria's 3.2. This will make the radio update even easier.
Thanks, Kyphur! Now will one of you guys with Faria's 3.2 send it to me, because I can't find my copy and it has been pulled...argh....

Ok, now I can confirm no more missed calls Molski and faria 3.2 is now a definite go. So Molski, fario please put your 3.2 roms back but with radio 2.19
Thanks folks
How is the signal with this Radio? The whole reason I went to the 2.47.11 is for better reception in areas where I had little to none. Has anyone really noticed a difference?
This was a great find, thanks. Now I can go back to the 3.2 roms I had to swear off because...well...if the phone doesn't work for phone calls, it's a doorstop.

Excellent, dont even notice any difference. I wonder what all these versions about.
mda reception
I just installed the aku3.2 rom and i notice 1 stripe more in reception.
before i had the 2.26 from T-mobile US and this one RUU_Molski.Biz_AKU2.3-226102_22610105_024711_WWE-30MB-CF2-G3. they both have 1 stripe reception where the 2.47 radio rom has 2-3 stripes.
I am going to say that it MAY have fixed or at least lessened the problem of the fast battery drain I was seeing with faria's ROM, too, and it is my favorite. This is most excellent.
It Works
Tried on molski with both cingular and Tmo, battery lasts longer and I have not missed any calls or had the phone require a reset!
YES....It works..!!
Thanks for the fix....!!!
Finally took time out to upgrade back to Faria's AKU 3.2 12mb and everything is working. Bluetooth is working better also, before...people could not hear me but I could here them (Motorola H700).
Dialpad works also....with & without Bluetooth...no more soft resetting.
I didn't say anything new....just confirming what's been said about the fix.....for USA T-Mobile users.
I installed the rom and downgraded to the Tmobile 02.19.11 UK radio rom (from the ftp). However, I am unable to make calls as it cannot connect to the network. There is an exclamation mark where the signal bars should be. I am O2 customer so I tried adding the network manually, but no joys.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need a O2 2.19.11 uk rom?
Cheers
Chris
there is nothing different about this radio roms but the version number it has..
try the 2.25 t mobile rom this works also fine

Missed calls, no Voicemail notification and no SMS on RADIO 2.61.11 and 2.47.11

OK over the last few weeks I've been missing calls on radio roms 2.61.11 and 2.47.11 running the clean orwell Crossbow WM6 rom. I'm going to downgrade to the Cingular 2.25.11 RADIO. I travel a lot, so I think it depends on the location where I am. I'm currently in the D.C. area on the Cingular network.
Does anyone have problems with missed calls, no voicemail notification, and missed SMS? It only happens when the phone is on standby for some time.
I was running Molski's 3.3 rom with 2.47.11 a few month ago and that seemed to be fine. So, I'm guessing it's the WM6 ROM and 2.47.11 or 2.61.11 mix that it doesn't like.
Is it definitely the RADIO rom that's causing this? or can it be something with the OS that's causing it?
I've downloaded the WM6 Most Beautiful edition, and will try that out over the weekend. By the way, I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate with Mobile Device Center, but I doubt that causes any difference.
A lot of missed calls and missed SMS on both of this radios.
I had a lot of problems on those radios. Now I'm using 2.19, with some problems.
Honestly i think it's the OS. i was running faria's 3.3 w/ radio 2.25 and had no problems, but I've since been using orwell's WM6 w/ 2.25 and I too miss calls, Vmail notifications and SMSs.
Back to Cingular 2.25.11
OK, I've downgraded to 2.25.11, and I didn't miss a call today. I also set the Power Settings to NOT turn off device if not used for. I wonder if that has something to do with it. I remember I had the Power Setting unchecked before, and never had a problem, but when I upgraded to the new WM6, I left the Power Settings checking hoping to save battery power.
Of course, with the Power Setting unchecked the battery doesn't last as long, but if I don't miss any calls I would rather that.
I'll leave it as is until I find more problems.
I've noticed that my Hang Up and * keys now respond better when I check voicemail as well.

Radio Rom 1.12.10 - No drop call (better than 2.19)

I found out that radio rom 1.12.10 is better than 2.19 radio, no drop call, signal is better than 2.19. I have tested it more than a week, no drop call. My gf and I both has mda, she had 2.19 radio, I had 1.12.10 (IPL/SPL 3). In theather I had a bar of signal while she had no signal at all. Try it out. See if it works for you.
The radio is include with button 1.05 Rom for unlock at http://rapidshare.com/files/18212239/CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe.html
Refrence: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435
I don't know how to exact the radio out of that rom. Need expert to extract this radio out
1.12.10 is too old...
There are 2.25, 2.47.11 and 2.69.11 should be better than that.
2.47 and 2.69 has dropped call issue. If it works great, it doesn't matter too old isn't it?
2.40 is good with no dropped calls and is new

is 2.40 good for tmobile in US? does it provide better reception and does it recover from signal lost quickly??
where can i download?
thanks
I use 2.47 ever since i flashed it with molski's 2.26 ROM and never got a call that didn't ring.
I think this issue is probably a network coverage/country problem and it grew so big that it became a dogma (or an urban legend?)

Radio ROM 2.71.11 + Fix?

Hello, quick question:
If I have upgraded the radio rom 2.71.11, do I still apply the XDA Cingular Radio Fix2?
Btw, I'm using T-Mobile in the US, if that matters...

I thought the 2.69 was the newest release
2.71.11 is newest radio rom for kjam.i am using last 3 days.very nice,no miss call or internet problem.very good signal.by the way i am using molski 2.26 wm5 final rom.you can find radio 2.71.11 under the wm6/the boring rom title.good luck
Should I install the fix if I get the new radio?
I'm not usually an early adopter for new roms, but I decided to throw this one on and give it a go. Glad I did. So far, I've seen a very marked improvement for both signal strength as well as the time to recover signal compared to both the 2.19 and 2.69 radio roms. I'm presently using it with the Cingular fix, so I can't comment on whether or not it's needed. Hopefully this continues to work well. The strength is fantastic. Using on Tmobile in nothern New England.
Miss calls on this 2.71.11?
Lets share our experience with the 2.71.11
Phone locks up after about 1 in every 3 calls.
IPL:2.21.0001
SPL:2.21.Olip
Radio:2.27.11 w/XDA Cingular fix 2
Ext Rom: TNT.1933
I have been using Radio 2.71.11 since it was posted and have had not one problem with it. I do get better reception. Battery drain is the same. When I first flashed radio 2.71.11 I added the radio fix cab and it showed no connection and searching, so I uninstalled the cab and all is fine?
just a thought, matbe you have to have IPL/SPL 226 or 308 for the radio to function properly
ipl/spl 308 bluetooth issue
i have an mda vario t-mobile in the uk on pay monthly. since the 308 rom in december, the bluetooth has done weird things. i can now run my motorola stereo headphones on the rom software instead of using the zoki bt cab which fixed the skipping tracks on the previous rom, but now my vario won't talk to my tomtom. an error message saying that it can't find the 'voice gateway' flashes up on the tomtom (one xl), momentarily before the tt tells me it can't find the services on the phone.
hmmm.. is there a way round this apart from sell the phone?

Although I am hesitant to attribute it to the radio rom upgrade, since installing the radio rom 2.71.11 on my phone missed calls have shown up as they should and my particular wm6 rom is known to have an issue with missed calls where they show up as "received calls" when gprs is active.
I'm unaware of any other changes which would have corrected this.
I can also state the rom has been performing well for me..I tether heavily and response has been nice...previously I was on the 2.69.11 rom which would occasionally "go off into limbo" and have to be reset on long tethering sessions..so far *looks for wood to knock on..settles on using his own skull* this has not occured on 2.71.11
I will give a try(as sson as my battery charges over 50% ) than I'll report here
flashing now...I'll report back soon...
Hi,
That is a nice version.
How can I install this ROM and do I loose all my settings when installing it?
Many Thanks
Does anyone know if this fixed the 8125's phone and data issue? I am having the issue and would like to know if I need to downgrade to the 2.1* radios or if this will resolve the issue.
And secondly... (OK totally noob here) I still need to CID unlock this phone with hard-SPL? or would it be better to use SoftSPL so I don't void my warranty?
Thanks,
SoBBie
PS the issue I am referring to is post in any places. It is that you will drop a call if your phone tries to connect to the internet.
Data rates went up but missed calls
I have wm6 tnt 1933 series rom date 9/30/07 ipl/spl 2.26
Mspeed test went up to 70kb from 39kb radio rom 2.19.11.
I never received calls and never received vm reminder.
If it matters I have the cingular fix installed.
Anyone have such issues.
Edit

upgraded to ipl/spl 3.08
mspeed test went up to 70kb plus
received all calls
upgraded to 2.71.11

mspeed test stayed around 70kb and up
No calls coming in
going back to 2.19.11

2 day using this radio report:
No missed calls " about time"
Good battery performance
Good signal recovering
4 to 5 bar of signal all the time

The signal is not the best
But i probe the 2.61 and I have always much better signal

I use wm6 tnt 1933 and had the same issues. I would have a whole day of missed calls with no voicemail reminder. I have the cingular fix installed but there is still no improvement. I just flashed to 2.71 so I will let you know how this works in a couple of days.

Radio rom suggested for At&t in Chicago

I am running:
ipl/spl 3.08
OS: TNT.19199 Series V.2 11.0.1
I was wondering what rom i should use?
I installed the 2.71 rom with the cingular fix but the wizard freezes up every time i lose signal. More like, i can still talk or stay on the line, but the actual software freezes up every time i am in an area with very very poor signal.
I don't use a data connection, i just want to get the best signal and no more freezing.
What would you guys suggest?
Thanks in Advance,

hmmm, does this happen with all the Radio Roms and OS(Roms) or with this particular OS(TNT.19199 Series V.2 11.0.1) or Radio Rom 2.71.11 ?,Have you tried with other Radio Roms or OS ?,if it happens with all, then there must be some Hardware problem.
Most widely used Radio Roms are 2.19.11 and 2.69.11,try out these also.

I wud say there's no harm in trying what ever Radio Roms are available, check, which is the best which suits you.Certainly try the 2.69,its one of the most common used and recommended.Check my sig,I'm using 2.69 at present, never had any missed calls or bad signal quality.Signal quality reception also depends on the cellular network coverage,in some ares its strong, while in some it becomes weaker.

Run the 2.19.11, I don't have any reception problems with it, and i'm even in a 1900 only area, make sure you hold the phone properly too. I also do not use the cingular fix, i don't like it, and don't need it (I'm on Cingy/ATT).
2.19 all the way. I travel everywhere in the western U.S.A. and I have yet to have a problem with that radio. I have tried all other radios and this is by far the best. The signal may not always be the highest but it is stable.
what does the cingular fix do?
if i remember correctly, it hid my network tab on phone setting, i was pretty ****ing pissed
