D810 shipping ROM (Australia) - P3600 Software Upgrading

I am watching the thread on the new Test ROM for the Trinity, and am very tempted to use it ... however, if I want to revert back to the original ROM it doesn't appear that I can do so. I say this as the "Ship" ROM on the FTP server is not my current ROM. I have the following:
ROM Version: 1.17.707.4
ROM Date: 12/05/06
Radio Version: 1.24.00.11
Protocol Version: 32.57.7020.06H
As the version on the FTP doesn't match this, I am hesitant to update to the Test ROM. Anyone have this version so I can revert?

I just wanted to tell you that I upgraded last night after weeks of pushing and pulling about it in my head. I've got to say that I have no regrets so far! The GPS works great! I have both P3300 and Trinity and I actually got a faster fix with my Trinity a couple of times! And the sensitivity of the Trinity is more than sufficient for all but the most hardcore GPS users!
Sorry I don't have your Rom - but be assured that you probably won't want to revert anyway! I would have waited for the official HTC update, but who knows when that is coming - could be tomorrow, could be months from now. I just got sick of sitting on my hands and waiting - $40 USD to SuperCID, but the pain of purchase went away with my first GPS fix!!!

so when you update a ROM do you loose everything on your device (eg. phone numbers, appointments etc)?
sorry for the newbie qn but havent seen the answer anywhere...

For sure... It is the same thing as re-installing Windows on your PC.
You should make a backup of your personal data (contact, agenda, files...) somewhere to retrieve it later (use Outlook for example).

QTEK 9090 UPGRADE?

Hello.
I have one or two problem with my current rom, in Qtek 9090.
A low bluetooth range and sometimes i can't hear anything before a during call.
This is my actual specifications:
ROM version: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM date: 10/22/04
Radio Version: 1.06.00
Protocol Version 1337.38
ExtROM Version: 1.22.126 WWE
Bluetooth Version: 1.0.0.3500
What are the best rom's, to preform an upgrade?
Thanks dudes.
HI,
I recommend you wait for a few days because qtek will be releasing rom 1.40 with radio 1.12 and extended rom 1.40.111
I'm using this rom now and works pretty well.
Comes with media player 10.

Nice news...!
Can you post your ROM here? PM me if you want my mail address, and I will post it for you..
Would love to try out the new update...thanks in advance..!
Hi, i'm using it right now:
For those who are asking for this rom i'm sorry but i promissed not to share it until my friend tell's me to.
But he told me that in a few days it will out.
It will be distributed via brightpoint.
No need for asking for the rom.
Thank's for understanding!
In the picture you can see that i'm still using radio rom 1.10
That's because if i started the upgrade with the radio rom on the upgrade folder it would hang in the upgrading process. Without the radio runs immediatly.
Latter tonight i will try to upgrade the radio rom also! (maybe with an older upgrade and delete ms and nk files from folder)
I've seen the qtek radio rom 1.12 in the xda-developers ftp
you can always go there and grab it! It's a .rar file
Is this ROM will be good for PDA2K?
If this rom is Type I, then it will be usable with PDA2ks. This is not important though, as I-Mate will be releasing their new rom this coming week.
Is my Qtek language after the install of the update english, or can i use german?
Any news on the BT side in the new ROM?
Greetings

For sure?
Well, I just spoke to a clueless I-Mate support person who said it would be about 2 months because they are busy working on the PDA2, but another tech support person told someone else 2 weeks last week.
So basically, with I-Mate, you never get a straight answer, so who the hell knows.

So, can you give us the low down on 1.40.00? Does it include Widnows Media Player 10? Which BT stack does it include? Anythig new we should know about? Thanks,

Your friend...??
What has your friend to do with sharing this, unless he was the original developer?
And Brightpoint is a major distributor/reseller...so I am curious to see "how" they would share this with us, users. Usually, updates are communicated through the telco's. This is because the telco's have to pay the OEM for (most) upgrades...so they consider this "customer service" for their clients.
Guess I now have to become a Brightpoint customer...?
I think not.

Sorry HappyGoat, this gotta be an hopeless portuguese user ...
In a few days my cute, little butt! I called Brightpoint in Sweden today, and they said they hoped to have it out within a month! Apparently they had sendt it to the Creator (God or HT, I'm not sure...), and there was sort of a service pack for WM in it as well.

Is this the new T-Mobile ROM???

Just got a new Vario today. System info reads:
ROM Version: 2.21.2.6 WWE
ROM date: 3/9/06
Radio version: 02.19.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.09
ExtROM version: 2.21.2.109
MUST be, yeah?
Yes it is - I read on another forum that someone recently got a Universal (MDA Pro) from a T-Mobile store in the UK with the new ROM on it.
Hope they will soon be posted on the T-Mobile Website.
Could you copy it onto a storage card and post it on the ftp server?
That would be great!
Give me a quick rundown on how to do that and I'll gladly oblige!
I don't know but I know it is possible!
Can anybody help please with the extraction and upload of the new T-Mobile ROM?
I found these instrcutions:
Download aWizard 1.3b2
Run it, run the RAPI server using the 'e' command, wait till it starts, unlock the CID using 'u', then you can backup using the 'b' command, give it a name to backup to, and wait 15 or so minutes and it'll backup your GSM, OS, and Extended roms.
It comes from this place:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=43399
Can anybody give hardylane detailed instrcutions to backup and upload his new rom on the server?
cheers
It's all cool.... downloading them now...))
Hang onto your hat folks!
(PS, I'm a girlie, not a chappie )
cool!
I attach a file with more detailed instructions which I downloaded from the FTP server. Just in case you need these.
tell us how it goes.
Thanks
Right... first of all, unlocking wasn't necessary to dump them, using that aWizard program.
Secondly, it won't let me upload!
right...
The link below tells you about the FTP server
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=47464
Are you using Opera? I know it does not work on Opera or Firefox, you would have to use IE.
Does it help?[/url]
So two questions:
1) How would I put this dump onto my vario - forget this I actually got off my a** and used the search function.
2) which AKU is it ? ie can the clock be at the top instead of the battery icon
Ahh I see... different login for uploading.....
OK, a RAR file with all the dumped stuff is winging its way onto the server... should be there in about half an hour.
I've also noticed that T-Mobile have enclosed a booklet about the new AKU 2 features.... I'll try and scan it for y'all.
I'm quite excited to be the first to bring everyone this little exclusive!!!!!!
Do I get my name on msmobiles and coolsmartphone?... no... thought not...
well, I think you would deserve credit for it!!
Is it your first Vario, or is it a replacement?
First Vario....
I'm an ICT network tech and picked this lil' beauty out as my next upgrade. Wanted Vario II but it'll be out too late. I was all set to put the QTek ROM on it till I noticed the revision date!
It's a lovely piece of kit, and I've only had it for four hours!!... hehehe
it is a great device really - I jumped on it as soon as it was released on TMobile last November. You won't be disappointed!
Thanks again for your contribution - that's great.
I hope to be able to download it later today.
Cheers Cheers Cheers
10 points to you sir!
I've been waiting for this for months!
Any word on the upload?!
I've been using the T-Mobile USA test rom for the past week or soo...
ROM version: 2.24.10.1 WWE
Rom Date: 4/17/06
Radio Version: 02.25.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.12
Not had any problems with it up to now - perhaps TMUK will wait for this to pass the testing process before they post upgrades on their website.
No prob at all..... I'm keen to hear what people think about the new ROM, because I don't have anything to compare it to!
since i have already put a revised rom onto my T Mob wizard, would there be any advantages to putting the T mobile rom on?
currently on
Rom 2.16.9.1WWE
radio 02.07.10
I must be an idiot. I just got my Vario so it has this ROM on it. I did the camera speckle and brightness fix, and apparently my picture quality has went down from when it first started. It might just be my imagination though....
ROMS ARE UPLOADED... GO FOR IT!

New Official Rom Released By Htc!! Feedback And Reports!

There is a ROM released for TyTnII by HTC at htc.com? Any body try it yet? How is it different??
Are you talking about the AT&T Tilt rom release?
I can't see anything on the HTC site - where are you looking?
I check it out at HTC e-club (worldwide) update support and nothing for Tytn II.
I think this guy is talking about the AT&T rom update. Got me excited though!!!
i found it on e-club downloading now
Once its here I will upload for you all to check out
The only thing I see on e-club is the BT fix.

Can you please tell us if this is the AT&T rom or real HTC... and even better a download link!
because i had to log on I doubt a link will work (Then I wouldn't have to make anyone wait for me to upload) it seems to be real HTC because u can get it it off of the US (which is 404 for the moment) or Europe FTP and is availiable in WWE or ARA (no clue what that is - arabic?)
Below is the link
http://member.htc.com/member/DownloadAddressforRuu.aspx?dl_id=390&type=Updates&lan=
Version info of the new update is identified as follows:
ROM Version 1.106.405.1 WWE
ROM Date 05/10/07
Radio Version 2.90.90
Protocol Version 4.1.13.42
ExtROM Version 1.06.405.101
These numbers do not make sense to me.
Somebody confirm that this is a new/old ROM please.
here is the numbers on the file
RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.32R2_Ship
so the radio seems old thus far
all signs suggest WM6.0
uploading now
EDIT Can be found here, appears to be an old one though.

It's a real AT&T ROM. I flashed it with no problems. It seems more stable, but that might be because it washed out my "experiments." There is also a new version 4.0.0.97 Blackberry Connect. You have to access that with the stub. I'll try to upload the cab later. My employer's firewall seems to be blocking my attempts to upload it now.
does this new rom have better video performance?
So is not a new rom afterall for the generic Kaiser?
Cheers,
Gilbert

No, its a bit more stable and has better bluetooth performance, which i can confirm. There are a few threads about it already in the "Upgrading" section.
I tried to do a search but could not find the solution for not able to sync after rom update. Can connect via usb but won't sync. I know I did see a fix here somewhere but can find it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have no idea what Rom place in my Htc...
Good question, come on people answer...

Have used TLR 2 and 3, both very good ROMS but am currently using SwiftBL WWE Diamond ROM V4.0, the ROM is very quick, up to date and give you plenty of free storage and memory left after installation which is what persuaded me to change to it.
All the ROMS here are very good, some more customized than others so you either look through the different threads and compare the differences or try every ROM and see which one suits you
Stock 1.93
Mainly to destroy the ugly t-mobile pink theme. And oh yeah, touchlflo3d works significantly faster than 1.37.
Desperately needed help. Am thinking to change to Omnia, can't bear to part Dia.
Hi Bro Radeon, (had PM'ed you too)
Sorry to ask for help like this, as I had tried reading through, but I really got more and more confused.
I got only next 2 days to give my diamond a last try.
Till now I still can't truely understand what is Hard SPL, I tot all Diamond should have.
I look at your selection, it is very much what I hope to have, but can I know exactly how you get there.
SPL - OliNex 1.40 Developer Edition
ROM - SwiftBL WWE Diamond ROM v4.0 (1.93.405.1)
Radio - 1.00.25.05
After flashing, if things goes through, how I revert back to original factory default, so that warranty and resale is not a problem.
Infor about my device is as follows,
Red Screen:
DIAM100 64M
SPL-1.35.0000
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
Green Screen:
PSOC-Diam STAGE_PVT v0.x30
Blue Screen:
White Screen:
Serial
Device Information
ROM version: 1.35.871.5 WWE
ROM date: 06/06/08
Radio Version: 0.93.25.NS26
Protocol version: 52.26.25.09W
Desperately looking for help, sorry for being so novice about flashing, kindly of phobia, perhaps is generation gap I supposed.
Ke Pin.
Take a screwdriver and dismount the screen, the Rom version is placed behind.
If you can't find it here, go to "Parameters/system/Device info" and you'll find it, it should be a better and safer way...
Cheers

Yeah using the UK updated rom version 1.93.405.1 (RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_1.93.405.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe) from HTC with updated Radio (.5) which is supposed to give better coverage and battery. Coverage went up by about one bar for me to total of 2 on 3G..
Phone is MUCH better with this ROM than the Orange one. Touchflo much snappier, phone faster. I did do the tweaks from Schaps advanced configuration tool and the TouchFlo3D config Tool.
Dont seem to have any memory leaks like others have reported even when using Opera.
Rom is on Duttys site http://duttythroy.net/
The Orange voicemail indicator works 100% with this ROM too and TomTom 7 works with around 7 satellites I got (TT7 NOT in ROM) !
Hasnt locked up once since flashing unlike Orange one. Im sure it will but been better than before so far
At the risk of sound like a super-noob, if you flash over the UK orange ROM with another one do you then loose things like the data-settings and other phone-settings you have to then re-input?

A new rom will detect your network and re-set all data settings.
K
from the polls most ppl are still using the stock 1.37 eh...
i heard the cooked roms are great.. and i do love the aestheticity of minimalism that most cooked roms offer.. great job
but i guess after tinkering so long with 1.37.. kinda tedious (and also lazy) to reflash the rom and do up everything again... i dun suppose we can port over everything after i reflash by using porgrams like Sprite backup since we are on a different rom..
My signature tells enough, though I am surprised to see so many 1.37 Stock rom's.
Probably the same people who mention about hot batteries , what hard SPL to use etc .
Honestly, each 1.93. 831 build is OK and better than the 1.37 , and some have more or less bugs & tweaks inside.
I currently use Dutty 1.1lite as it has the latest builds onboard and plenty of space.

Need help deciphering rom info and such

So, about a month ago, I got my first cell phone - a moto q global (att). Then, this tuesday, I traded it in for the tilt.
I am very happy with this phone - I love the touch screen, the wifi, the developer base, and all the other nice features (combined with the unlimited data, of course )
Today, I borrowed my dad's laptop (my computer runs gentoo), and hard-spl'd (using the alternative "screen went white" directions) the phone, and flashed the HTC rom from here.
Device information sez:
ROM version: 3.28.405.0 WWE
ROM date: 05/02/08
Radio version: 1.65.16.25
Protocol version: 25.83.40.02H
First of all, did I pick the right rom? Is there a more up-to-date rom? Can someone explain the advantages of dutty's rom?
And I'm hearing a lot about this "radio"... this is the rom for the cellular radio itself? What version should I be using? How do I change versions? From where do I get these radio roms?
Finally, is there an easy way to sim-unlock my phone for free? Not necessary, but would be nice for later.
Thanks for any advice/tips,
poly-p man
Hi Welcome.
Let me nicely answer your questions. But You should read the Forum Rules. Mostly the answer is out there, just need to search for it.
1) I do not allow people to say what ROM is the best. Not because we are fascists, but because it is subjective. Also, "newest" is also subjective. Look around in the ROM Dev forum and find one that looks good and try them out.
2) You Radio is the "ROM" for the Cellular Part. There is an Ultimate Radio thread out there. Check it out.
3) There is a Kaiser Unlocker out there. They are free to use, but consider Donating to the developers.
4) Check out the Links in my Signature they will give you LOTS of answers.
Thread Closed.
