can someone please help me simple question

i have a o2 xda mini S running the v2.21.4.101 rom my question is theres alot of junk with it i was wondering should i keep this or try to go to qtek v2.1 thank you

Okay, your question would lead me to believe that you HAVE NOT READ THE FORUMS... Here's why.
1. The "Extra Junk" you refer to is "Operator Customizations" which are located in the "Extended ROM". I was aware of this within 1 hour of starting to sift through the forums.
2. A quick search will find at least 2 million (ok exagerated for effect) mentions of soft reseting when the phone says it will begin installing customizations in 3 seconds as a way to have a clean install of WM5.
3. Members of the forum are quite good at answering noobie questions, unless they've been asked and answered 200 times, by then it gets annoying.
So, seriously spend some time learning about your device. Just spend a day or two reading the wizard forums without a specific aim other than to learn. If you don't then the next question of your that gets ignored will be something along the line of:
"Thanks to you assholes who didn't explain exactly the risk of flashing my phone I now own a $400 brick!"

doom for Tilt

Ok i have been serching through these forums for weeks now so please dont bash me if there is a thread about this because i havent found any answer i am looking for in the many threads about this! My question is i want doom on my tilt i know how to get it and how to install problem is it wont run it, i read that my phone has to be unlocked before it will work, if that is the case is it a CID unlock or sim unlock i need to do? and if it is CID can i just flash hard-spl to my device to unlock it because i do not want to change roms only unlock it to play games, and if i use hard spl will i be forced to reboot my old rom or can i use it just to only unlock my phone. thanks for any information

First off i have spent several hours and many days searching and did you read what was given on your search or just find some stuff on it and called it good, if you have read my thread then you will see that everywhere i look it doesnt explain what i am wanting to know, just jumping around different things,

good that was step 1, now what you need to do is USE one of those url's to search for "doom for kaiser". and next time you post a redundant thread you can reference back to this redundant thread and use the search url's that you provided.

that was the stupidest thing i have ever heard!!!!! you are obviously not listening trying to make your friends on here laugh. why dont you type that in and read hours of useless information for days see how aggrivated you get. my question is not redundant mine has not been asked on here or anywhere else that i have spent days looking for and i can post pages of url's with nothing close to what i am asking. Nice.....not realy did you happen to even look at any of that.....??? all that talks about is the same REDUNDANT stuff i keep finding still not answering my non redundant question. my question is not how and where to get it all i want to know is do i need to unlock my CID to get this to work and nothing in all of that tells anything close to that, check them out for yourself instead of posting a link with pages that just say doom for kaiser without seeing if my question is in any of them, if your gonna post post something helpfull on my subject

why in hell would you need to unlock your phone to put a game on it, we are not using a iphone.

wow finally an answer, that wasnt so bad !!! and i dont know why, thats why i was asking, because your precious research that i supposedly didnt do told me that. so now you see why i am confused there are thousands of things to look up on the subject and all saying different things, confusing to someone who is not a computer wiz to find proper info.
P.S. if anyone is confused on this subject i wont hate on you for asking just message me to avoid the bashing from unwilling people that just want to make you look stupid

Jesus. You are an arrogant one aren't you. I would think that if it didn't say you needed to do something extreme, like unlock, that you wouldn't. But I guess I think like that.
ALSO, if you wanted to know for sure. Respond in the Doom On Kaiser thread.

Wing ROM Change...[Or how do I post useless questions!]

I want to try and load a new rom on my wing. Which one do you guys think the Wing can benefit from the most? One problem I have now is that the reception is horrible. That's the main reason why I want the change. I will be honest I have no idea what I'm doing. Is it the ROM I want to change or the radio version? Can someone point me on the right way? Thnx in advance!

Okay. Are there any tutorials I can use to change it? BTW The phone has ROM version 4.26.531.1 WWE and radio version 03.21.90. Can you suggest a radio to me? I have no idea what I should be looking for let alone how to accomplish this.

As far as there are NO turorials...you should NEVER change your ROM. It is not good for your device...you can brick it...and it looks ugly with custom colours...

Some newbies do search but they can't find anything and for the ones that won't post silly questions here you can tell them "USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION STUPID" or "WE HAVE A SEPARATE THREAD FOR NOOB QUESTIONS"

A 100 post long thread with maybe 5 bits of usefull information dotted through it really isn't helpfull. Forum search feature or not.

Not the right criticism. It seems the point of this thread is not to be an encyclopedia of newbie answers (plenty of resources for that, especially mapledouglas' great web site), but rather a place where any newbie can ask a question that's been asked 100 times elsewhere, and find some generous soul to answer it. So newbie's shouldn't have to read through all the posts, just go to the end and ask the question that's nagging them!

hello everybody, i have a 4x that I just rooted, thinking of installing a custom rom for better performance and battery life, but I have a few doubts.
1: can I restore it to the original rom latr and how do I backup everything?
2: I´m having an issue with lack of ram message, will a custom rom help.....

if that option existed, the developer section would not be missing all the links to custom roms
you can add some hacks and play around with some workarounds, but only a semi alpha rom exists which is for development only. and hoping others could find interest in how i made to create new roms with locked bootloader if possible.
