hello all. Quick question. Is there a way to make messages from google voice pop up like my regular messages do? I use handcent SMS and used SMS popup before that...
thanks all,
Mike
Open Google Voice, hit Menu > Settings then check Notifications via Text Message. This will send the notification as a text and Handcent will then just bring up it's normal popup. Otherwise Voice doesn't have its own popup capabilities.
got it thank you!
I have AT&T with stock Froyo on my P990. I just again went through my voice mail and made sure I have no voice mail. But I still have this icon by the gmail and SMS notification bar that means I have new voice mail, but I don't!
So, if I get new voice mail, I won't know.
How to fix this? Thanks, lgnationrc
I have an annoying issue with my phone and don't know if it can be remedied or not. I am sure that others may have the same issue. If I miss a phone call and the person leaves a voicemail I get four different app notifications. The icons in the notification bar include: missed call icon, email icon with possible transcript of voicemail, text message with possible transcript of voicemail and finally, Google voice icon with transcript and voice recording. I use Handcent for texting, gmail for emails and Google voice for voicemails. I would like to keep Google voice as I like the transcript and voice recording available in one spot. Is there a way to selectively not receive notices for phone calls from specific apps?

i wont be of too much help here, but i can suggest turning notifications off for such things as a bootleg temp fix until you figure it out.
ive never used handscent so that may be it, or more likely an app for transcripting voicemails as that seems to be the common factor here.

Did you try resetting your phone?
I'm loving my TouchPad revived by JCSullen's awesome TouchPad Toolbox and his KitKat ROM.
I'm having an issue though in which the Google Voice app isn't playing the audible (ringtone) notification when I get new text messages despite having a ringtone selected in the app.
Also, how do I get GV notifications to stay in the notifications menu like when you get new e-mail? Currently, it shows in the top banner when a new GV message comes in, and then disappears.
