Please someone confirm that (using only the ROMS and NO whatsoever other player or stuff) you can have either:
a) integrated GPS activated but bad sound on mp3
or
b) good full bass on mp3 in WMP and no integrated GPS
solution b) means also you can use a ROM in your language. Solution a) is only available in WWE and CHT.
Please someone confirm that the above is correct. Should someone have a ROM which features a) and b) plus german language, please let me know!
Thanks

I don't think it exists. If you want it in German, you may be waiting for awhile until HTC releases an official ROM upgrade or someone "cooks" a ROM.
GPS + full bass
I did the ROM Flash of LVSW today with the GPS and Wav.cab for full bass today and it works for me
Got GPS and full bass like the original german ROM.

I used LVSW's ROM -- works fine and GPS is now functional but his Wave.cab messes things up and gives you a white screen of doom which I can only get rid of by Hard Reset so... guess I'm going to be flashing yet another ROM once HTC releases one. By the way, I've never heard bass on any of my WM5 phones, ever...
I have been using LVSW's rom for several days full bass and GPS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294718
It's really it works. Best WWE rom out there to date. I never had a white screen "of doom" as previously reported.
Thanks so far for your interesting comments. I think I will try the LVSW ROM. Hoping to get my hands on a german ROM with all these features.
put the LVSW ROM on. Bass is still weak... Any suggestions?

I had excellent bass with my headset before. Why changing?
Tip for people who have a white screen after installing bass patch
I installed the bass patch and after that my screen went white.
Soft reset , hard reset , didn't solved the problem.
I connected my p3600 to my laptop with active sync and went to the programs screen. There was the patch and i removed it in the active sync menu.
After that my p3600 was as he was before installing the patch.

P.s. Looking for a dutch rom with GPS ( but who is not )
The patch is only for the LVSW ROM. Installing the patch on any other ROM will cause the white screen.

enlite_de,
Did you install the bass patch with the LVSW rom? or just the rom? Folks have been reporting bass improvement with this rom and the patch.
Important note to all others: The bass patch works only with the LVSW rom, installing it on other ROMS will cause unpredictable results. Carefull read lvsw's posts. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=294718
You mean this wave cab file?
No not yet. I will try.
Thanks!
Funny, I thought I had the LVSW Rom onbaord so i ran the wavedev.cab. Result: I got a white screen, too. Thanks to the dutch guy from a few posts above I completely restored my device by unchecking the patch in the software screen in ActiveSync.
I guess I will live without bass for now.
Gotta luv those Dutch guys when your in a bind. Can you confirm that you do have 1.23.800.2 dated 2/8/07 installed? Thanks
ROM is 1.23.800.2
ROM date: 02/08/07
Radio Version: 1.35.00.11
Protocol Version:32.68.7020.10H
this is weird, someone else try it out on their device.
when playing a wma in wmp, adjusting the volume using the icon at top of the screen (so not the + & - built into wmp) it actually does NOT affect the volume of the music playing. however, if i set the volume to high, there is no decent bass playing but as i drag it down towards the bottom, the track gets bassier?!
i'm running the orange gps rom that comes as standard on uk m700. those that are having problems with bass, try it on yours and see if the same applies.
My trick for listening better bass over headphones (rom with gps):
1. I takeing off all sounds in home screen (in settings volume: Off).
2. Input headphones in phone.
3. Starting play mp3 in WMP.
4. And only now start all sounds (in settings volume: On).
It´s all. Up every disconnexion headphones is necessary progress always repeat.
Right, we've got a little more bass. But we still have not the same sound quality than before.

Hi to all,
as pointed out many times in various XDA forums - there is a definite solution to the skipping problem with bluetooth stereo. The reason i post it again is that i never had the issue before, but it appeared with the latest ROMS 2.26 and beyond - probably due to more optimistic assumptions about the BT headset performances (i own a Jabra BT620S which i love, after i got rid of the Motorola HT820 because of terrific skipping that i could have probably solved!)
The solution:
set/change the registry BitPool (it is a DWORD in case you don't have it) by using TotalCommander or similar:
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/BitPool=40
A value of 50 or so means heavy skipping, the lower it is the lower the bandwidth between your headset and the wizard. At 40, i can be the famous 10 m away without any skipping with a great audio quality. But at 50, i have essentially to keep the wizard nearby my ears....
Last comment on the quality: i don't notice any difference, probably because my WMA files are encoded at lower bandwidth anyway....BTW, MaxBitpool and SampleRate, experimentally, have no visible effect (probably depending onthe MS implementation of the BT stack).
All the precise information supporting this empirical evidence is available in (see for example pg. 22 and 71 for the bandwidth estimation)
http://www.bluetooth.com/NR/rdonlyres/800D10CD-DE3D-4D51-ABC0-726C8DF26151/921/A2DPspecv10.pdf
Enjoy the Wizard!
No Skipping at last.
It seems to work for me no skipping as long as I am not syning via bluetooth.
Thanks for posting this fix, as the skipping has been bothering me for a while.
I thought it was fixed

Absolutely yes, you have to soft reset your device (keep pressed the power button or use the stylus in the small hole on the right side).
I use resco registery editor and there is no file for settings or bitpool? I have cingular 8125 and jabra 620
same here, i have no settings/bitpool in my registry
i have hklm/software/ms/bt/a2dp/devices/1, 2, 3, 4

someone please tell me which rom they are using, that way i can try it, and if the sound still drops, i know it's my device/my loaded software
I'm using Core2.0 (as shown in my signature). But I got the hissing problem so I am using Axim Widcomm stack.. However, I still have to overclock to get rid of the skipping. The reason could be because I play aac+ files using TCPMP. I remember that there was no skipping in WM5 when I played MP3s.

Well I'm using the stock T-Mobile now (I'm in between cooks, and messing around with the registry files, hopefully tomorrow I'll be flashing..... again) Have you tried Faria's roms? a2dp worked pretty well for me using an IOGear stereo headset. Skip's were far in between, that is if they were present at all; usually when I had a lot of apps running, or when the phone was connected or connecting to GPRS was the only way it would skip. Your milage may vary though, but it might be worth a shot.
so i flashed the core 2
edited the registry (set it to 20 hexadecimal, which gives 32 in brackets) (i really didn't find a2dp settings in any other rom i tried) and now it works, so thanks for all the help - it's easy when you have the right rom
I thought I would drop in my .02 cents. I have a Jabra 620 as well. I had previously used Molski 3.3 crossbow lookalike rom (WM5). With that one, auidio was good but was not in stereo.
Now today I had some free time so I decided to try a wm6 rom or 2. With Faria's rom, the sound quality was good. I think he sets the bitpool to 60. But the rom itself is buggy.
Next I tried crossbow reload 1.7. This rom is much less buggy. But the stereo bluetooth sucks. The sound quality is very tinny. Also, there is this constant background clanging that is very annoying. I have looked at the bitpool. Bitpool in reload is 30. I changed this to 60 but it may have only gotten slightly better. Sound quality still sucks. To note, I dont get any skipping, so Im happy about that.
EDIT: I decided to change the MaxBitPool value to greater than 30. At 35, all the clanging and general bad sound went away. I'm happy!
sorry for the missed replies!
....i have switched to the trinity due to a wizard failure!
...If you don't have the bitpool register, you should create it. And by the way, i had exactly the same problems with the trinity and the same jabra bt620s, and changing the bitpool value worked again!!!
all the best;
Piero
I now have the ingenetics rom dump flashed to my ppc (see my sig) and it is by far the best a2dp rom ever - without overclocking (i forgot to try it, so i'll be doing that soon, to see what improvements i can make)

OT - how is the trinity compared to a wiz? i asked in my local shop, but with all the rubbish from orange on it, it was actually a lot slower than my wiz. and they wouldn't even let me hard reset it and let me remove the extended rom they even said there was no other software to make it run faster! nor would i be able to remove the orange crp - funny how we know more about these things than the sellers
Thanks for this post. I know it's been a few months, but I just got myself a Jabra BT8010 and this change in the registry value made a difference in the audio quality. I don't have the drop outs I had with the other value. The problem I have now is that TCPMP doesn't play the video smoothly when using the headset despite overclocking. Any ideas to the setting that would help? Thanks.

Here is a bass boost audio patch to fix the low bass problem on new Roms.
(NOTE: Apparently this issue is already corrected on the new HTC roms.)
There are three files included.
Install the certificate (Certs) files first and the HTC_WaveDev.cab file last.

I updated the download link with the individual CAB files for manual install instead. Install the HTC_WaveDev.cab LAST and it should work correctly this time.
Seems to work for me, thanks !!

I've got the same ROM and patching went well without any problems. Sequence is very important. First intall certificates and only then WaveDev.
I have a very basic question about this problem with lack of bass with the new ROMs. How can you appreciate the difference when the earbuds of the headset provided by HTC are soooo big that it is even a problem to make them stay stable in the ear?
I use a SonyEricsson stereo BT headset and regardless of the other A2DP problems with the Trinity the earbuds can really fit my ears and bass is very good. When I travel by plane and I must use the HTC headset I just give up listening to music.

First of all, sorry for bad english
Hi,
I want to know if someone else has the same problem like me. But i find out that it has to do with some Roms.
Here it is.
If i change something in the equalizer, doesnt matter what, but if i enable it, i get the most ugly sound through my speaker and earphones.
Does anyone know how to prevent this?
Really like the way to combinate SRS and Tcpmp_equalizer for the aggresive Bass. But i now have the rom of Garmin, the new version (not 1.2) and here i have the problem. Still all the roms of Dutty was flawless, didn't had the problem. Some Roms works other didn't Cannot mention which ones, becauze i flashed almost all roms on this kaiser forum since Xmoo helpen me with HardSPL
Please anyone?
Cause i really like Garmin Roms now. And no didn't asked Garmin, cause i found out it isn't only his ROM
Thnx in advance
it has nothing to do with garmin rom i think..i am using stock rom and it is doing the same thing...when i enable the equalizer it makes a hushy sound...i don't use that feature..i don't know why it does that.
Yes, that is what i said.
But i asked, is there one option that is doesn't. Other program maybe with equalizer. I know that the HTC Equalizer Sucks...
I have searched until I could search no more. SRS WOW does not work under 6.5 and I haven't found any topic with information how to get it working. So here is my cry for help . Has anyone of you had any luck in getting SRS WOW working on a WM 6.5 device? Or maybe you have found an equivalent that can boost audio quality. I like WM 6.5, but standard audio settings just make me wanna cry. How can anyone enjoy this type of sound ...
Any input welcome.
Kick...
Nobody's come across an equivalent? I have absolutely no idea where to look for, but I'm guessing a registry setting should get it to work!?
It works on S2P for me, but not WM or the Titanium Music tab.
Under 6.5 I can't even configure it. NO HD driver loaded. Such a shame, spatialize makes it sound far better.
I had the 121 version working fine for me (except that it froze my device when it went to sleep). I had to stop using it because of that, actually. Plus, it took too much bass out of my A2DP sound.

This version works fine in 6.5.. Not 1 lockup since switching over.
That's trange because I've been using the same version ever since WM6.1. Can you provide me with a link to the version you use? Mine is simply calles SRS WOW HD 121.CAB which I found somewhere on this forum. In build 21501 It wouldn't start because of the HD driver that did not load. Now in build 21222 it starts and even lets me configure. But it doesn't do anything with the souns. Apart from that it also kills my volumemanager. I can't turn the volume up nor down.
@ Captain_Throwback
Maybe you had your sound set to internal, then you get a high-pitched sound. On the second tab you can increase bass volume and lower the pitch. Music now just sounds horrible without these settings
YESSSSSSS build 21222 working!
First I installed version 121 HD which didn't work.
Then I tried this version http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=150853&d=1233064230 1.51.
Again didn't work, back to the "no HD driver" error.
Then I tried to replace the old driver registry setting. Again it didn't work.
After that I tried importing this registry setting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=64200&d=1199363692
Indeed, that also did not work.
Then I removed 1.51 and re-installed 121HD, just to try the registry settings with that version. For some reason (I'm guessing because of the previous imported registry settings) 121HD now works perfectly. All sound is played through SRS WOW. Finally I can enjoy my music again. The version of 121 I use is called SRS_WOW_HD 121.CAB with a size of 174,4kB on my Raphael.
Im using SRS_WOWHD_V1_2_10_MONX
Someone upload the exact versions you've used. :|
I won't be able to upload "my" 121 version untill Sunday evening (GMT+1). All the other stuff can be found in my post.
srs wow hd
Guys, help me out here... SRS WOW HD is launching and says it's working, but it's late and I'm fearful the placebo effect is making me think it's working. I installed the cab listed below, and then imported the wavedev registry settings on my CDMA TP. I'm not sure if it will impact GSM differently or not...give it a go.... we're all flash-a-holics anyway so what's the big deal with a hard lock up. (if it happens) hehe....
I received the "no driver installed" msg until I imported the WaveDev settings using Resco's registry plugin.
Nate
Oh yeah: WM 6.5 Build 21222 CE OS 5.2.21222
Yesterday I performed a hard-reset due to my problems with internet sharing (not working anymore, needs a driver). After that I tried to get SRS working again, yep you guessed it. I installed 121, seems to work. But as with you, I hear no difference in sound. So I tried al the steps I've written down. The end result: absolutely no sound whatsoever... . So last night I performed another hard-reset. Today I'm gonna reflash my TP with RRE v2.1 build 21222. And I won't quit testing and trying untill I have a working TP the way I want it, with SRS working. When I succeed, you will read here how I succeeded . Just give me a day or two.
Lemme know if you get it working the same way on RRE. That's what I'm using. I wanna give SRS a shot.
I am watching this thread. I have not been able to get it to work on 21222 based WM6.5 ROM I am using yet. Only tried the 121 version that is floating around the forums though and have not tried the registry settings that were mentioned. I will just wait and watch while one of you figure out the best method to install this.
[*_']
I tried every step I have tried in the past. I've reflashed my TP with RRE v2.1. I got it working again. There are two things to take into consideration:
First, your volumecontrol will not work in mediaplayer and Manila player when using the internal speaker. This has never worked for me btw, not on any 6.1 ROM. Volumecontrol WILL work for all other settings (games, sounds etcetera).
Secondly, it only works with Bluetooth connections, but there is a plus, volumecontrol in combination with Bluetooth and mediaplayer/Manilaplayer does work.
Now, here is the tricky part: install SRS 121 (IBTrules posted it in this topic, so no need for me to do it again). Restart your device, pair your BT headset and voila you're done.
I know some of you would like to kill me now, but trust me. Connect your BT headset and adjust SRS WOW, you will hear that it works . I'm sorry for you guys waiting to get it working over the internal speaker. I can't get it to work. But I don't care. I also don't use the wired headset, never have. I would have to look for it to test if it works.
I have a Sonorix C3 BT headset, SRS WOW works. I also paired AD2P between my TP and laptop, SRS WOW works on this connection. All the steps I went through and all the testing. All for nothing. Not the registry settings, not 151 or whatever I tried. It was the connection with BT that made it work. Installing 121 will kill volumecontrol in combination with Mediaplayer and Manila player, which led me to believe it did not work. But it WILL start working as soon as you connect your BT headset. If you want proof, I can film it. But I hope you will try for yourself and believe me .
I have performed a hard-reset just now (20th+ time and 2 hours later). I downloaded IBTrules 121 version to be sure, installed on my TP RRE v2.1 (21222 build), soft-reset, paired BT headset-> SRS WOW and volumecontrol work. Paired with my laptop, SRS WOW and volumecontrol work. It also works with my JVC carstereo. As soon as you disconnect BT, volumecontrol in mediaplayer and Manila stop working. Don't know about you, but I can live with that. I only listen to music with a BT headset, laptop or carstereo...
After updating my MDA2 from WM 2003 to WM 6.1 there will be no more sound connection with my original T-Mobile car kit. What the hell is changed in 6.1? Is there a registry tweak? If not, how can I downgrade to WM2003? I don´t find any ROMs for 2003 here. I can get a MDA2 with WM2003. Can I create a image from this one and restore my MDA?
Rolf
No, problem to get a T-Mobile WM 2k3 ROM, you can download it there:
http://www.xda-zone.de/thread.php?id=3373
or O2 ROM here: http://www.o2online.de/nw/business/hilfe/download/xdaupdate/older/xda2/index.html
Which of the 6.1 roms do you upgrade to? I have got a car kit too, but I usually don´t use it. I´ll try it if I can find some time to spend it, on it.
Interesting issue
Ups, that was my first double post, so I have to edit it.
Which FSE do you want to try? Mine is the original xda II car kit and it worked well with teijaks WM6.0 german rom, as I tried it last time.
Or do you miss the possibility use the phone without pressing it on your ear, if it to loud around like in a car. In this case try to install the small app speakerphone. It gives you back the (free speaking) function to switch the speaker loud.
BTW: It took me about seven seconds the links, by simply google (xda update rom download). And don´t be pissed:
There is a very strong medicine, to the most interesting issues, called: search in the top row of buttons of this forum.
So use you brain power, it the best weapon you have.
And a good hint for all the brave guys, who want to upgrade for the fist time:
First you have to collect all you need, to switch back to your original rom, cause:
The good girls go to heaven, but the bad girls go everywhere!
So, good luck

To Rolf PM me if you have probs to discuss.
Hello muckelmaus,
It´s the wm6_1_Himalaya_GER_rom_by_efsane.
You think it´s a bug in this ROM?
Do you have another?
But where can I download a T-Mobile 2K3 ROM?
I tried searching for hours in the net. Also in the WIKI. Nothing. Or I am blind?
The MDA will be charged, but there is no switch to the car speakers. Only the build in speaker is working. So the FSE is sinceless. So it must be the OS, cause it is no hardware switch. I checked with my XDA2i, and this is working. But the sound is bad. No basses. Maybe the FSE is only working with WM2003 (not with WM2003se)? I connect it with a high/low level adapter to my radio, and this is working fine with the MDA2 with WM2003. Great sound with Pocket Music. I also buyed a original XDA car kit at ebay for € 2,46 but didn´t test it at this time. I was really happy after finding the registry tweak that don´t cut my notes in the contacts, cuase everything seemed to be working, and now I am pissed.
So I really need help.
On you qestion of your fist post, there is a way to ripp your rom out of your device, as swampy395 described it, to recook roms, but then you are on the way to build your own rom.
I don´t know if it is a bug of this ROM you tried but ther are some other german rom in here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379017 including my fully loaded version of Athers Dark Edition
Btw: which reg tweak you are talking about?
Hello Sebastian,
Thank´s for reply.
My FSE ist the original T-Mobile. Before upgrading to 6.1 my MDA2 is working fine with the car speakers. Now he is sending no sound to my radio, only the MDA internal speaker is working. Before I can listen to musik over my car radio, and a call is coming, he will switch to telefone, after ending, the musik is comming back. I don´t install the added speaker, cause I want to hear stereo. So the HL/LL adapter.
The links that you found are WM2003se links. But I am looking for WM2003.
Wait, I send you a PM.
Martell
EDIT: Found T-Mobile WM2003 at [URL="https://after-sales-service.t-mobile.de/eg_online/t-mobile/t_mda_2.htm[/URL].
Downgrade and now car kit is working.
But why?
