Hi there I'm having problem updating from JPO Froyo to the recently released Ginberbread JVO.
I've reinstalled Samsung Kies and the Samsung USB drivers but I'm still getting this error everytime I try and upgrade. The phone itself is unlocked.

I've never rooted the device or installed any custom ROM. I only upgrade via Kies.
Some help would be greatly appreciated.
It looks like kies itself is misbehaving. Try uninstalling kies and then reinstall it to see if that solves your problem
I already did that and i'm still getting errors when I try to upgrade.
Is it being blocked by your firewall?
My firewall is turned off.
hmmm that's strange, it should be working normally in that case.
OS shouldn't be an issue, im assuming you have plenty of free ram, and that you're not running anything else you don't need to be running in the background.
Maybe try giving samsung a call and see what they say? I know kies is very tempramental from my experiences with it in the past. That's why I started flashing custom roms lol, to get away from kies.
I started having issues with the MIUI rom and wanted to get a different ROM. The devices menu shows for the captivate device that there is no driver. I have tried to let windows find a driver but it cannot find one and I tried installing one manually but still has the same error. My only idea is that the device name changed so it cannot find a driver. Can someone tell me what their machine says the device name is for your samsung captivate? Or if I am wrong can anyone help me out?
MIUI version: MIUI-109160

Thank you
Have you tried a Heimdall one-click (like the one in my signature)? That should detect your phone as part of the installation process, and let you flash back to stock (with CWM) as well.
Edit: okay I got it to work. Thanks I am now back to the default. If i have any more issues I will come back. Thank you
Yeah even tho it got back to the stock it can't read the sim card now. suggestions?
Hey everybody,
I have a really strange situtation with my Motorola Milestone RTEU.
One day I wanted to flash G.O.T. 2.2.1 but I had an in-active start button. I searched thru the Internet and I found a solution to flash it. Changed the name of the file hmmm updated RSD Lite updated the drivers I ran in administrator the RSD Lite, I tried it in XP mode and I did almost everything what I found.
My problem is, that I started the flash and it went thru normally my phone is rebooted but when I checked the build number it was the same SHOLS U2 which one was before. I tried to do on another laptop, actually that is a netbook with Windows 7 starter. I didn't have to change anything, just ran RSD Lite with the original GOT sbf. My phone rebooted but still I see that the build number is the same old SHOLS U2.
What should I do? I can't access Open Recovery to flash any updates and I tried to flash vulnerable recovery...same issue...like I didn't do anything. Any tips?
2.1
And the funny thing is, I could flash 2.1 even without changing it's name and I didn't have to force flash that. After that I flashed GOT 2.2.1 and the build name changed to SHOLS again. I can't get GOT back. Just wondering why...
My Note has got the ICS update, but with this last (dutch) update the phone cannot connect automatically with my car. Even when I connect manual, it will turn off bluetooth for a split second or loose connection again. Very frustrating and just not working.
Flashing back to GB solves this issue. But I saw that my GB rom has 3 files one of them is RADIO. Is it possible to flash the whole ICS rom again, and then flash only the GB radio?
Or is this asking for trouble? Or has radio nothing to do with Bluetooth?
Hi,
I need to repair a M7 T-mobile for a friend of mine.
It had sort of killed itself. It didn't want to start up again. So I though wel than just reflash te ROM and it schould be ok.\
The steps I took
unlock bootloader
flash custom recovry (TWRP)
use sideload to flash rom, internal sd was unreachable
rom flashed it booted up
everything looked good, running stable on the latest sense 6 maximus HD rom
tried to instert sim if that would work (there is probalby my mistake, use Vodafone SIM)
eversince phone reboots after a minute or so, tried reflashing, full system wipe, everything I could think of
Does anyone have any suggestions how I could fix the reboot problem??
I personaly think it is in the radio wich can't communicate properly with the ROM.
