It's that part of your internal memory which is hidden and which the network operator usually uses to store customisation software which auto execute after a hard reset.

may i use the opportunity to ask what is the Radio on the PPC ?
thanx for sammis

The PPC Radio is that part of Hardware and Software that function together as a mobile phone. Considering the aims of this forum, "Radio" here, refers specifically to that part of the ROM (software: Read-Only Memory) that makes your PDA behave like any other mobile phone.
Hope I got your question right.

Hi!
I was using cryptostorage to protect my peronal files (such as photos and videos). Unfortunately it doesn't work in Wm6 devices. Is there any similar program?

WM encryption not as good as FreeOTFE4PDA

You enable the WM built in encryption by clicking the control panel applet - see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb416357.aspx for more instructions.
However, it's a bit dodgy, and it's very easy to lose your data, or have it end up unencrypted when you thought it was all encrytped. A much better solution is FreeOTFE4PDA (see http://www.FreeOTFE.org/) which is open source, and gives a lot of control over what is encrypted (and how it's encrypted), but is still pretty easy to use.
haha, good answer but do you think this guy waited 3 1/2 years for the reply?
haha (2) "However, it's a bit dodgy, and it's very easy to lose your data", that'll be a micro$oft product then

What do you mean with "inable and disable cabs"? I sopose you want to enable and disable something but what do you mean with cabs? If you mean files with a .cab-extention - they are compressed installation files which can't be "disabled". Or do you mean something different?

You want a program that "makes feasable" the ability to "Flavor with hot spices" a "taxi?"
I don't know if I've seen one of those.
well what i mean i have a few cabs installed in my tilt and now i want to stop them from running but i dont want to delete them.
for the guys who have so much time to troll around here and act like children. sorry to inform you that there are people on the internet that english is not there first language. so please do us all a favor and grow up. leave your abused childhood past to your self.
Do you perhaps mean that you have programs that automatically run each time you power your device on?
In which case, FORGET ABOUT THE WORD __CAB__
This is only how those programs are initially installed onto your device.
OK, moving on...
If each program does not have an options page, when you enter its interface, then you could try navigating to
My Device\Windows\Startup
then delete the shortcut in there that refers to the program you want to stop from automatically running.
Resco Explorer will definitely see all files you need, you may need to fiddle if you want to use the standard Windows Explorer.
I agree people troll around here often, but if you explain what you need a little more clearly, you will give them less opportunity to do so.
If you do NOT in fact want to stop programs from automatically running, without un-installing them, please ignore above

Well, your last sentence was not very grown-up either! You don't want to be abused and jet abuse others! As my father would say: It takes two to tango.
as for your question: I don't know what cabs exactly you have installed but it's either some apps or some tweaks and non of which can be "disabled". You can uninstall the apps again (which you don't want) or just not run them. Or in case of apps which install some additional system services or which starts with the phone you can disable them from starting by hand (in the registry) or you can use some tweak-tool like MemMaid; Which I would recommend since you can destroy much less with that one. But both is risky if you don't know what you do.
maybe an example would help us to help you?
what did you install? (so that we know, if it even runs)
i guess with delete you mean uninstall?

Whoa Geez Chill. I Assumed English wasn't your first language. I was merely using my resources available to me to try and understand the question. Maybe I was too literal.
Asked, Answered.... Closed
@Streetknight: Your original question had nothing to do with want you were trying to accomplish. As you have not seen fit to even select your country in you user profile we have no indication of your language problems (if could be a young & dumb kid just as easily as someone who has very little english skills). As the person asking the question it is your responsibility to state clearly what you are trying to accomplish.
Had you said "I have installed some software that automatically starts everytime I reset my phone and I want to stop the automatic start." you would have received an answer fairly quickly.
Now you can say that your knowledge of English is low but then I'd have to remind you that you choose to ask your question on an English Language Forum. The expectation therefore is that you have sufficient English skills to properly ask the question and also understand the answer.

what about diamond box???
Take a look:
someone in other topic says that no gps software included... what are software included inthe box ?
There's no GPS software included.
Its easy, not included. Why do people keep asking it over and over.
And, in box, I'd say normal stuff, activesync and pds manual?

Hi Guys & Gals:

Please if you found it, tell me how, cause it too much difficult to use. thank u!!!
Errr there is on mine (tlr 3 rom), if you have already copied something (a number i am assuming) then go to 'phone' and click menu (bottom right), then click 'paste', it is like the 7th option on that menu... what's the problem? maybe I misunderstood your issue...
hi man:

Hm... nobody seems to get it - What Nuclear says is that there is no PASTE option in the phone keypad view. Used to be there on my TyTN, now it's gone!! Anybody know how to get it back?
I re-raised this issue here yesterday...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407216
It seems to have been an issue with the Diamond from the start, but no one seems to know how to enable pasting directly onto the dialer.
I think it's time HTC addressed this, as in my book it's a serious ommission.
I'm interested in a quick straw poll of Diamond users out there for whom this is an important issue?
If there's enough response, perhaps we can bring it to the attention of HTC.

Phone -> Menu -> Paste doesn't exist!
Perhaps the ROM you're using has the paste as an option here?
Perhaps also this is the reason that more of you aren't jumping up and down over this as it's perhaps ok on some versions. I've got a UK Orange with 1.37.405.1 WWE, and the more I hit times I need this feature the more wound up I'm getting about it.
I also don't have that option on my UK Orange Diamond, not really had to use it though.
It would seem that it has been fixed in .93; could some of you with standard .93 confirm this for sure?
If confirmed, it'll spur me on to flash an upgrade. Also if confirmed, could any of the more technically minded work out if it's a registry tweak, or a software re-write/upgrade.
TIA

Official vodafone UK 1.93.161.2 upgrade had the PASTE in the menu.
Previous 1.37.161.2 did not have it.
It may be due to HTC phone skin? Newer version has the menu option. Older version does not.
OR, may be due to code base 1.93.xxx.x has the option and previous code bases don't?
??
Thanks, mystery solved. So paste was obviously added as an option in the menu to .93. I can feel an upgrade coming on... just need some time to fit it in.

[Q] Paste in dialer
No, i haven't put shoe shine between my hardware keys.
What I really would like to find out is whether anyone has adressed the COMPLETELY INEXPLICABLE lack of a paste menu item in the dialer context menu? This is such a basic feature I can't believe they left it out!
Saw this issue in a search but there was never any conclusion.
Is this perhaps adressed in any ROMs?
Is there a registry setting?
Anyone?
Did you not read what's been just posted above?
Upgrade your rom to a 1.93 variant, and you should have it.

Welcome to the HTC Touch Diamond - home of many illogical choices and omissions of basic features
I've got Diamond Project 3.3 and no paste in the menu
It seems that diamond project is based on 1.93 but no paste option...
Any idea

Different sort of keyboard issue...

Hey guys. I just recently updated my Tilt to Dutty's latest wm 6.1 WWE (4/28/08) & radio 65.14.06. The problem I'm having isn't the standard tilt keyboard fix or a cleartype issue (I've seen someone post this type of question before only to have the Cleartype solve it). My problem is when i type in a document or even a sms (anything that involves the keyboard) it seems like my thumbs are moving faster than what I'm trying to type. Its rather frustrating. Here's an example since I'm typing this on my Tilt anyways:
Red foxes jumpedt he river bed only to finda wolf hiding int he bushes. He atet hem oneb y one.
Besides my lame story skills, you can see what my problem is. The really weird part is that when i do force myself to type slowly, the text will even "AutoCorrect" itself (i.e. Ate them = atet hem) to look misspelled/fractured. Also, my backspace button likes to choose not to work, turning itself into Delete when it wants to (but no other buttons are affected). Any ideas or cabs I haven't come across yet?
Also, the auto correct hardly works as it is. It won't provide apostrophes where needed.
Thanks for everything guys!
I'm not trying to yell at you, I just have a Reputation to uphold regarding this.

Doesn't work. No, really, I had this issue before it was installed and still have it now.
Option 1:go to setting---input---Word Completion---Clear stored entries. This will delete all the incorrect words which have been remembered by the phone. After that, try to type slowly.
Option 2: Disable the Auto Correct function
See if that helps.
Which version of HardSPL do you have installed?
Try installing one of the latest ones or see in the ROM thread which one the chef recommends.
