I tried (for a 30th time or so) to upgrade my unlocked 3G MDA to another ROM.
In first instance it started up correctly and installed the customization. Then it rebooted, and since that moment it keeps on rebooting every 3 minutes or so, but it doesn't go any further than the boot-screen?
Has anyone seen this before and found a solution for this?

Browsing through the FTP I came across an AKU 3.something about two weeks ago. I downloaded and installed it on my device.
Everything went well and the device was working for two weeks.
I also installed the SpbPocketPlus.
A couple of days ago, the phone just hang by itself.
I tried restarting it, and it would hang just after entering the PIN.
I tried canceling and not entering the PIN at all. Same.
I tried removing the battery and restarting. Same.
The phone just goes to today and then hangs.
I also tried the safe mode boot. Same.
I tried downgrading to an earlier ROM, no luck.
When the upgrade wizard shuts down activesync, and restarts the phone, the phone stays dead and the wizard tells me that there has been loss or failure to communicate with the device. I tried the steps to recover, still no luck...
Please, someone advise.

Hello, i got my MDA Compact IV in the beginning of July. (germany)
I had the problem that it crashes sometimes a day. The indicator of loading the battery is still working, but no reaction. Only soft-reset solve this problem. Same problem without loading battery.
The support of t-mobile can't solve this problem and said that i will get a new one. So, very fast, two days later i got my second one and send the first one back to t-mobile. Curiously the same problem as the first one.
On both phones I had only the emailpro-software (like blackberry) installed, nothing else.
Hangs sometimes a day. A complete Hard-reset gave the same problem.
So, i began to try install cooked roms.
Now i have tried about 10 roms, but always the same problem.
Very rare, that the phone is after 4 or 5 hours still alive.
Then i installed the original HTC Rom. This is the only rom that runs now 3 days without crashing.
I googled a lot and searched in the forum, but it seems that i am the only one with this kind of problem.
Is there anyone who have same problems as me or know something about it?

Coupls of weeks back i I HardSPL my device with 3.28 and installed the RUU_Kaiser_HTC_HK_WWE_3.34.721.2_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.70.19.09 and since then it was working fine but today i downloaded the SKYFIRE thru WiFi and installed it though it installed correctly and after one hour my my Phone turned off automatically and when i realised that i tried to turn it on but nothing happend initially i thought that may be the battery runs out. So when i reached home and the moment i attached my phone with charger ; the orange light turned on automatically, phone vibrates and smart mobility screen appears BUT after that it start reapeating that again and again.
So after several attempts; i start reading the forum and as advised by seniors - I enter into boot loader ( successfully ) attached my phone with a PC and reflashed my phone again with RUU 3.34 and the whole flashing process completed successfully and when " Finish " button appears on my Laptop and the moment i clicked on it the Phone Vibrates ( like restarting ) smart mobility appears and thats it.... same problem....
And the moment i unplug my device from charger it even refuse to turn it on even. Presently i am using an extended battery of 2800 mah which i purchased it from UK last december but Currently i am in Canada and using Fido connection.
So now would any body tells me that its a
Battery Problem or
Hardware problem or
Software problem
Please help me out since i am out of home with a limited budget and don't want to spend on a new phone in foreign land ( canada ) and BY-GOD Canada is way too expensive - in Canada they even charge it for incoming calls and messages as well :-((( .... i was always under the impression that UK is expensive but now i realised that i was wrong...

Try flashing with a different ROM, probably a stock/shipped one..

In a word Yes. but if you have trouble connecting to the pc (as I did) flash a ROM using the SD card
Thanks to all the replies and i think its a battery problem.... now i have to buy a battery in Canada at double the amount which is easily available in UK at only 8 pounds... and in Canada its available not less than 30 CAD $...
Does anybody from Canada know a place from where i can buy a tytn-ii battery at reasonable price... specially in toronto since i am a tourist i prefer a shop a address...

I have the same sort of problem as you...
I unlocked my phone via one of the methods on here, which was performed successfully, even managed to update my HardSPL, however since unlocking, my phone reboots, or shuts off.
It started happening when a text message was received on the ROM i was using, however since then I've flashed the same Rom as you, the HTC standard from from Zel's FAQ, along with now reflashing the Orange UK Stock rom (as per Sig) onto my phone.
The phone got as far as formatting the storage, then went to allow me to setup, and rebooted, allowed me to start the setup for the phone, then rebooted.
However, something has happened which I've never seen before.
Once it rebooted, the phone booted into Flight Only Mode, then has told me that my battery needs replacing (so am bidding on one from the illustrious Ebay).
Any ideas what could've happened? Would the original unlocking cause the phone to F*** up? Even though the whole process worked with no flaws / switching off etc at all?
Max, I'm in the UK, and if need be, i'll happily find one on ebay also and ship to you from here?

Basically after my Kaiser has been on charge overnight I will get around to using it and can't. What will happen is the screen & buttons will not work, although they can be used for a split second every 3 seconds.
After a reset everything is back to normal, so I'm not sure what the problem is, I don't have a lot of programs installed and only 1 has been install in the past month which is A2DP Today Toggle, so far I've un-installed it and left it again but I still have the problem.

I have a similar problem. In the morning i have to soft rest the phone for it to work. Issues started after 6.5 upgrade. There must a solution somewhere in here..........
Does a hard reset fix the problem? Does this happen with every ROM you've tried?
I have only stuck with the official rom, I bought it on 6.0 and then updated to 6.1 after it's release. A hard reset does fix it but some time after it will return, bear in mind this has never done it previously just about a month ago.
I guess it might be a issue with some program that is being installed

Well everybody knows about the Stuck in motorola logo right? Well, I always use the RSD Lite and re-install the Rom (9.8.2I-50_SML-29_Retail_BR_SIGNED_SLATAMUnlk_USASMI01RETBRLA022.0R_S1FF_CFC_fb.xml) and ALWAYS get the problem back in a few weeks like 4 or 6 weeks.
So, here in forum I only found replies like "fastboot", "rsd lite"...and I already am doing that every time but doesn't fix the problem (just for a little time).
Someone knows how to fix like "forever"? (or at least more than 1 month haha)

hardware or software error?
Same problem here.
It starts with apps closing without error message, random reboots and slowdowns. The first time I also could not call anyone although I had a good connection.
Sometimes the booting process also lasts several minutes. Then, finally after some days one of those reboots or forced reboots ends at the Motorola logo.
Used RSD Lite to flash "CFC_9.8.2I-50_SMI-26_S7_USASMIJBRTEU", everything works fine and after 1-2 month the history repeats itself.
People seem to have this problem a lot since mid 2014.
Do you think this is a hardware error (memory fail e.g.)?
Or a software problem induced by some newer apps?
