Hello everyone,
This is the last time I try to do something to bring back vitality to my G1.
I have a T-Mobile G1 (DREA100 PVT, Radio: 1.22.12.29) I can boot into bootloader mode and recovery mode. I have no root.
I tried to downgrade the device with the RC29 and RC30, but always without success. When the downgrade end, instead of OK signal to each component, returns the heading "Installation Fail."
Before creating the GoldCard which with DREADIAG.nbh helped me to start it in recovery mode, the phone started only in bootloader mode.
Now I can do a full analysis of the phone with the DREADIAG, but not found anything abnormal.
If I turn on the phone without pressing extra keys, is on the word "T-Mobile G1".
Please if you have any alternative idea to "try a downgrade RC29" do your thing, I'm using it damn phone.
Thank you everyone.
P.S.: Sorry for my Eng.
I had a hard time understanding exactly what you're trying to say, but i'll give it my best shot.
If you're able to access the bootloader, then you're not bricked. If you have the default, original, stock bootloader (spl) you shouldn't have a problem downgrading using the dreaimg.nbh rc29 file. (if you do, then i have no idea...) If you have any other spl, hard/danger-death, then you should be able to get into fastboot and flash a rooted recovery image (cyan 1.4, amon_ra 1.5.2) - there are guides within the forums describing how to do this.
Once you have a modified recovery image and an spl that will enable you to flash custom rom's , just flash as normal
I have original SPL and have a problem to downgrade using DREAIMG.nbh (RC29) file. Every time (with many many different downloaded files) INSTALLATION FAIL.
I can't use fastboot because my phone isn't recognized by adb.

Last time I checked, adb won't work unless the phone's OS is on. However, fastboot will work when in bootloader mode without adb. Just turn the phone off, hold camera and turn it on. Plug your USB cable in then hit the back key, it should read "FASTBOOT USB". You're in.
Try re-downloading the DREAIMG.NBH, maybe yours got corrupted.

No man, when I'm in Bootloader mode and plug-in the USB cable, the phone say me "Serial 0".

If it says Serial 0, it's telling you that something is wrong with your SDCARD.
Format the card again and choose the FAT32 file system.
I have a sd card that would not work properly...found it out the hard way with similar issues to yours! It worked fine in the phone for storage, but not for loading roms or updates. Went to another card after thinking my phone was screwed up and it worked fine.
But I tried to flash the ROM with 3 different SDCard, the last is now a GoldCard (without which I could not use the dreadiag.nbh) and also one of those 3 has already root dream of a friend ...
P.s.: On my Dream has never been turned on "debug usb"
Are you sure the SDCARD is formatted to FAT32? Also, when you used the other Cards, did it also say Serial 0?

Yes, I'm sure! I've tried many times the procedure
- FORMAT in FAT32
- DOWNLOAD RC29
- EXTRACT DREAIMG.nbh in / (of sdcard)
- INSTALL
but everytime this fail.
Yes, with any sdcard the phone say me "Serial 0"
Re-format your card. Format it for FAT32. Change the allocation unit size to 4096 bytes. That should help. Let us know.

Ty Macrophage001 for your lesson...but this is a English or Phone/PDA forum???
I'm Italian and my English is not good, it's a problem for you? Others have understood what I meant...so if you don't understand is not a problem, but ridicule me is really stupid. -_-'
Thank you again...
Well I tried installing Titan Rom and then had to update the bootloader.
While fastboot didn't recognize my phone when i typed "adb devices" it still said it was connected, so I gave it a shot with the following instructions here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/bootloader-update-t3060007
So I noticed that it erases modem 1 and 2.
I have wifi, but no network for my carrier to make calls or receive data.
My backup didn't reset the modem either. Phone is back to the way it was saved during TWRP backup, except for the modems/network.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what model of Moto G you have, but for the data problem, you'll have to input your API settings. Flashing will usually wipe them out. Go to Settings, More (under Wireless & Networks at the top), Cellular Networks, Access Point Names. There you should see your carrier. When you click on it, it will open and here you will need the settings for your carrier. If you give me your carrier, maybe I can tell you what to input or someone else here will surely have the same carrier.
Going back one step, where you see Network Operators, click on that and see if your operator comes up. If so, that may fix the phone problem when you select the carrier.
you probably flash the wrong ''modem NON-HLOS.bin'' file.
did you notes that in the download folder have 5 folder one for it device model?
Did you download the one for your's device exactly model?
If so it may be wrong...
Find a XML ROM of yours exactly device and flash again the ''modem NON-HLOS.bin''
to find the ROM search here
Use this commands but with the right file.
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
modemst1 and 2 is only erasing the temp stats of modem not erase the modem files.
Hello xda, it's me
I write to you because i need help, two weeks ago, i did a hard reset on the B853 update of my Huawei P7-L10 phone.
The circle grow, grow,... 10,20,...99%, then. Failed, witha brief error message : "Update failed" and "post_update_failed", (why ?)
I restarted then, i was on the B853 update. So, no problem.
I installed TWRP, with fastboot, and then in TWRP, i installed SuperSu. No problem at all.
I turn off to put my SIM card, i turn it on again. then, it's ask for sim pin, ok.
And, then, he ask me the Network code for sim card. A bit confused, i press "Cancel".
I go to the num pad, and wrtie *#06#, to get my IMEI... and it was a null IMEI. (so, 000000000000000)
So, i decide to reboot into fastboot, and write imei with it,
My fastboot screen say "PHONE Unlocked" in red.
I write in fastboot : "fastboot oem writeimei 123456456123153" (this is an example of imei, not mine, but got my imei on my original phone box)
Résult :
...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: -0.000s

how fix IMEI without HCU ??
hello,
It's worst scenario I could imagine, My sisters Xperia Z1 dropped on street floor and crashed almost 70% of the screen,
touch is working on the remain area, she left the device for a while, and now she need some contacts, sms, pics from it, she forgot the pattern, and forgot the google mail associated !!.
I tried many ways described in many sites to remove the pattern without removing stored data, but the way ends at USB debugging OFF on the device,
please any one can lead my to how to unlock it ?
and in worst case if we can reset the device totally , how to do that? and can we use some app to recover data?
any help would be so appreciated.
thanks

If she has recovery, you should be able to start recovery and from there you can connect the phone to computer and have access to internal card. If there is no recovery and bootloader is unlocked, fastboot TWRP and do the same. If bootloader is locked, and there is a google account prompt, I doubt you'd be able to get to data. But google the options...
Hello,
I'm Afraid there is no recovery available ,
as I check about fastboot TWRP recovery, it needs first the device to be rooted and "Enabled USB debugging " ; means need the device to be opened and rooted and Enabled USB debugging !.
any idea please ?
unlock bootloader using fastboot mode via flashtool, then fastboot flash twrp.
then boot into recovery and attach your device to pc.
links that might help are below
twrp recovery
how to unlock bootloader
how to flash with adb fastboot
If you don't have anything particulary worth saving on it, then just flash a fresh rom with flashtool.

ok, get this one:
http://www.flashtool.net/index.php
it works like a charm. And it has firmware downloader built in.
after unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP, you want to delete the file password.key in /data/system/ using this:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646108
then it should be unlocked. good luck.
Hi,
so i got a situation here that xiaomi mi a2 (6x) out of nowhere rebooted to factory recovery with message "cant load android system. your data may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message you may need to perform factory reset deleting all data stored on this device"
Now after turning it off and on, it shows black screen "failed to boot" with option to power off or restart.
When restarting it goes to factory recovery again with that message and option to factory reset or try again (restart)
Now i cant perform factory reset before backing up the data, but i cant find the way to backup.
There is no custom recovery to download files from phone. When tried to flash custom recovery found out i cant because bootloader locked. And when found the way (dont know i it works) to unlock it without loosing data - cant do even that because developer options must be enabled to allow unlocking and debugging, so i get message in adb console FAILED (remote: Flashing Unlock is not allowed.
Is there any other way to keep the data before doing factory reset ?
Maybe try to flash with miflash keeping the data

unfortunately miflash cant do anything with locked bootloader as well. Just when starts to flash, gets error with bluetoth_a.
After research i noticed that miflash does nothing special at all just automated flash commands. In rom directory you can find flashing .bat files and run them in adb console.
When did that got all the data log, that bluetooth a is the first file that is tried to flash and stuck on locked bootloader.
Hello. Did you manage to solve your problem?
I have the same saituation.
Hi, unfortunately the only way i found is EDL mode.
https://youtu.be/i3OU4DOd7aY
When you keep those pins shorted, plug usb to your pc, and then , simply said, pc sees it as another device that can be flashed with everything locked.
So i flashed with miflash with keeping files option, but all that was saved is locking pattern. All media files lost.
Anyway, now i rooted and installed custom recovery to avoid any incident like this.
