Hi, I'm thinking of studying to develop a BA's WM5 rom from the scratch.
Witch programs do I have to know and use to build one...
And witch company's rom might be the best rom to study from...
at least I'm thinking of building a rom for Asian language support and the UI...

Hello everyone! I recently purchased an O2 XDA mini S. It was originally a German O2 contract and I want to change it to an english/american non O2 branded system. Which Rom should I update with? I have visted the wizard folder in the FTP, but there are so many different ROMs. I can't tell which ones are good plus meet the english / non-branded criteria.
Thanks for any assistance
(As you surely guessed, I'm not a developer. Please excuse errors in terminology etc. )
****EDIT - Just realized that this should go in Wizard updating. Please move if possible****
At first you must CID-unlock your phone, if you want any ROM with edited OS version.
And than you can flash: Faria`s ROM, Ridsoro`s ROM or mine and Jimm98y`s superrom, and others.
Look at the forum and choose that, what is best in your opinion
Make sure you do your reading before you do anything else. You can really **** up your phone if you dont know what your doing.
the WWE stands for world wide english.. i guess this is what ur looking for
There are thousands of posts on the same.
Maybe I can make the question simpler
What is the Best and Most Stable ROM available at the moment?
Is there a thread whcih contrasts all hese different ROMS?
I think that's a great question... in fact, the answer should almost be stickied:
"What is the best and most stable ROM for a non-advanced user?"
Gotta run; somebody should set up a poll. As of right now, and my knowledge is definitely limited, I'd vote for Molski 2.26 Final.
Which Rom to use
You're going to get as many answers as posts on this one. I think xelencin's is the best for newbies:

a poll on this would be cool.
Hello guys,
can you post there best rom for MTeoR, WM 6 or 6.1 or 6.5 but Fully Completed, no Beta or some BUG version
Thankx
Your very interesting question...
You have posted a very interesting question...maybe you are wondering why you did not get any replies...
MY best ROM may not be YOUR best ROM...the only best ROM for YOU is one that you cook yourself...hope that answers your question...
another pointer...
YOUR best ROM today may not be the best ROM for YOU tomorrow.....
Only YOU have the answer to what YOUR best ROM is...
If you seek stability and preinstalled software try futureshock`s ROM
If you seek speed and ready for some minor bugs try Wm 6.1.4 from emulator 96&131 dpi Rom&Kitchen by jerpelea.
It was ripped from touch scereen device and thus has some interface differences (which I find nice) comparing to futureshhock`s rom. I has recently switched from futureshock`s to Jerpelea`s and satisfied with this change.
Imho it`s too early for 6.5. I`d wait for a non beta version.
Hi guys,
wonderful forum.
I´m searching a stable Rom without advertisments or provider things.
I´m comming from the htc - site, but my girlfriend decided to buy a X1.
At htc we got our dutty with stable rom. Whats about the X1, is there a rom dev that create wonderful and stable roms?
Thx
eis
itjes ROMs are very popular here...anyway I prefer my one one (look at my sig), of course. Just look at the X1 library, one of the sticks threads, to get an verview...
the X1 is a Htc with a Sony Ericsson cover
i am using the "Touch-IT 5.04" rom very stable with very little problems
if you wait a couple of days itje will have cooked a final version 5 rom

Mine, but it all depends on your preference in what you want in a rom....
WC
I use a rom that i have make from the original X1 LAM ROM R2AA but a have delete all stuff that not useful like windows update, and samples music and videos and hand and go....And other craps....
It runs faster and i have more memory storage like 297Mb....
I want to add full manilla support (landscape too) to it
But I do not know how to do it yet?????????
Maybe somebody can point me in the right direcction, i will aprreciate that....
Because if so i can release my first rom in SPA Based in R2AA LAM original...
Thanks in advance....
i use one that by my self
any rom is recommended to flash the X1 (with WM 6.5 and Sense)
, fast and stability??
thats my first time trying flash, i can accept in english rom,
but must be able to view and type chinese,
well i from HK
(As you know ,it is important to sms with my girlfriend)
furthermore, any rom and retain the panel function? is it possible??
thanks for helping
i think the energy rom will do the trick and the experilo once it's fixed Experilo looks sweeeeet but energy is more stable i think about the language no idea im dutch so doesn't realy matther for me hehe
instead of making a new thread in the rom DEVELOPMENT thread you could've just read around for roms with chinese support.
but i'm sure there is a rom with that
maybe this one, i'm not sure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624506
I'm not satisfied by the out-of-box apps from official rom. But I need this rom because it seems to be the only rom that is in English locale (for work) and support Chinese viewing/input.
Any help?
Thanks!
It doesn't exist! I looked forever and didn't find anything. This rom is the best stock rom for Rhodium, but nobody has made a cooked rom based on it. I had to install Energy Rom. Follow my instructions here to get Chinese working on Energy. You don't say if it's simplified or traditional, though.
In this thread I asked the same question. You can check there for the replies: not much help.
Yes, you are right. It is the best official ROM I've ever used.
One thing I'm concerned about is that, if you hack the non-Asian ROM to support CJK font, the ActiveSync will stop working since due to locale inconsistency. That happened for my old HTC Wizard. This is why I'm looking for a English ROM that supports CJK natively.
Or does ActiveSycn to Exchange work for you?
Ah. I'm not sure. ActiveSync works, but I only use it for file transfers. Microsoft Exchange is a dangerously insecure piece of software.
