Hi Guys,
Does anyone know where I can get any animated screens / wallpapers for my Trinity?
I used to have a few for my SPV C600 but they are 176 x 220 in size and I need 240 x 320 for this device.
One that I had in mind was the red 'blinking eyes' with black background. It was used with 'MadBeetle's' Animplugin. There was also Felix the cat, the matrix, a demon, a sunset, and sexy woman walking.
Has anyone else made any newer animated wallpapers that could be used on the Trinity?
Well, after 236 views already, but no replies or solutions, it looks like having an animated today screen is a no-no for the Trinity!
But if anyone can tell me why I would still like to know,
Is it because of the 240 x 320 screen size, or because it has a touch screen, or the processor can't handle the animation?
If anyone can shed any light on this request I would appreciate it.
Cheers!
try this one link
You might care to use Animated Today 4,you'l also have to download and install the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player 6, you have to install both apps in your main memory and it will significantly slow down your ppc,if I were you I would't try it especially if I had to buy the software first ,see if there is a demo available.

You're my boy blue!!!
Man, here you are again with the icons, I'm excited! I just gave my Touch the Diamond overhaul today.
My suggestion on the style would be to either keep it the way you have (I personally use the grayscale effect in UL on the icon touch) or have the icon image in grayscale with the Diamond green font, I believe it's an emerald color.
WIcKED
I agree. I would like to see the grey scale my self. I'm starting the diamond express on my touch as we speak. Your the man blue. Oh by the way, thanks for all the support you've showed in the General Questions thread. Keep up the good work.
thanks for your feedback.
okay here is another test.
But i think we need some color, but text or picture ? Both would be too much.
ChANGED My MinD
Actually , I changed my mind. I just started gettin some of the home screens on my touch, and I would actually much rather use the Opera in red. I would really like to see both. You couldn't really get it perfect unless you could mix it up with the grey scale and the color's.
How about instead of the gray outline, use the green, with the colored icon and black font?
mmh, after some sleeping, i thing the first thought is often the best, i will make some icons for testing with grey text and colored symbols and try them also in vga
question: what iconsize do you need for vga , 64 x 64 ?
definitely both vga and qvga.
My perfect icons would have
1. Color variants: Black and White
2. Highlight/Border color: Green for White, White/Gray for Black
3. No Text, Only Images
4. Images in Gray/Black/White (I prefer un-colored)
Thanks mate.
as some of you may know i was making about 340 icons for my last set. so making this new one with black and white background would be too much for one man, because this will last weeks or months.
so i will do the white background because i like this clean white style that is so different to all this black styles here in the community.
but i will do more tests and again some questions:
1 do you need the icons also highlighted and for what app ??
2 what size do you need for vga ??
Update see first Post !
I like.... Can you put a small YouTube in your CorePlayer icon?
Can you please make some QVGA ones for Kaiser? Thanks
54 Icons are Ready, also new coreplayer with youtube.

I have a few requests if possible:
netfront, active sync, spb backup, slingplayer and ewallet. Also, if you could possibly post the icons in .ico format for ultimate launch. Thanks in advance, your icons always rock!
Blue, always making my PPC eye candy. Love the work man! I would say use the same apps from the prev set.
@m_kranzler11: blue listed the site to download software to convert to .ico
Love the "AC/DC" on the sounds icon! Cause I'm back in black..

Icons are far too small for Ultimatelaunch. Can you make it 48x48?
great work on the icons
They are in 48x48, .ico images have different size sets included in one, did you adjust the size in UL?
Trust me they work, there on my Touch right now.

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a specific background for my hero.
I've downloaded the 'backgrounds' app from the market and also had a search via google with no luck.
Any idea where I can get a Tottenham Hotspur wallpaper from?
Or if not, how I can convert a picture to use as a wallpaper?
Thanks,
B

whats the background image resolution on the uk tmobile g2 ?
i.e. not the physical screen resolution, but the resolution of the image that is scrolled in the background of the default 7 touchflo (android home?) pages. i dont think its simply 7x width of screen, as it doesnt scroll as much as the foreground
ta
Check the HTC site and see if it lists the dpi (dot per inch / dot pitch) of the screen... but a 72 dpi image should be fine, or use a larger size than 640x480.
As long as its the same aspect ratio it will scale nicely when cropped.
Cheers joe!
I've found something decent, I was under the impression I needed a specific android wallpaper, but the image I found from one of your links seems to work fine!
Thanks...
http://g1wallz.com/
this site will be usefull there are enough wallpapers. i like this site
Any 640x480 jpeg image should be fine for a home screen background, anything larger can be cropped down when you set it
I've had this problem for the longest time and it's super annoying and I don't know how to fix it. I pick a 480x800 wallpaper and it work fine in Portrait Mode, but when I put my phone in Landscape mode it is cut off half way or choppy lookin. What I'm confused about is when you pick a wallpaper for the today screen and sense home it only gives you the option to pick just one wallpaper, it dosent give the option to pick two like one for Portrait and one for Landscape like in S2U2. Also the default wallpapers work both Portrait and Landscape, How come? whats different from the defaults then my wallpaper? I would very grateful if someone can shed some info on this.
That's easy.
Default wallpapers are 800 x 800 and these work perfect.
Just imagine - when you turn the orientation,
the picture is also turned so different part of it is cut to fit the screen.
So, in landscape the picture has to be 800 wide to fit the screen,
800 x 480 is just too thin to fill it.

Um what??? Bro I posted this thread in January 2010, it is now Aug 2011? I don't even use Sense 2.5 anymore nor does going to the Android market help when these pics were shot in WM 6.5.3???
I really have searched alot for this answer. I run a CyanogenMod based ROM on my HD2. When I go to select a wallpaper there are four options; Wallpapers, Live wallpapers, Gallery and CyanogenMod Wallpapers.
Ignoring the live ones for a moment, when I select a Wall from the Wallpapers or CyanogenMod I'm not asked to resize/crop it and I get a lovely sharp Wallpaper on my Home screen.
Selecting a Gallery image I am asked to resize/crop it, even if it is already the correct 960x800 resolution. And no matter what I do the resulting image that appears on my home screen has lost lots of detail.
Thinking some redundant rescaling might be happening, and considering the original sources of the walls were higher resolution anyway, I made bigger images which still had the correct aspect ratio. I was hoping they would retain more detail but no, it's like the images are sized down to a resolution below 960x800 and then scaled up for displaying on the home screen losing detail in the process.
The quality drop is nothing like what Sense used to do on WinMo, it's quite subtle, but it's definitely there.
Anyone else experienced this, any solutions
Note. I've also tried Nexus One based ROMs on the phone and got same result.
The remedy you're looking for is called "Wallpaper Set & Save" and is available on the Market for free.
Make sure though that your Wallpaper is in a 4:3 aspect ratio (640x480, 960x800) and you can set wallpapers in full quality.
As far as I can tell, pretty much everyone who in some way customizes his mobile phone is using this piece of software.
Hope that helps
Wallpaper Set and Save in the market.
Cheers guys, that worked like a charm
CAn someone upload it here .. CAnnot found on market .. mini pro.
Had it b4 but cant seem to find the link
So, maybe its just me, but i notice that my nook, on any rom, does not seem to do well when displaying images that have subtle gradients. i have attached an image that i wanted to use for my background - it looks great on screen, but like crap on the nook. Anyone else notice this? I love the screen in general, but looking at that image makes it feel like i am using an 8-bit screen...

I've found it can display images fine, but that when setting it as the wallpaper it messes up the gradient and also tends to make the image blurry, as though its changing the resolution (despite the image being 1200x1024 or whatever its suppose to be(possibly 1024x1200)
Color Banding with live wallpapers enabled
Hijacking this thread.
Is anyone else noticing color banding on NC with live wallpapers enabled?
For example, take a look at your desktop with the two settings:
1. Livewallpaper + analog clock widget
2. Regular wallpaper + analog clock widget
The clock displays horrible banding in test case #1. I tested this on 7.0.3. stable and several nightlies since. I've see a few posts on this in the other device forums but most of them seem to be issues with the supported bit depth of the actual screen itself or wallpapers in general so I wasn't sure if they were applicable.
Is this an Android issue or an issue with the rom? Something else?

I recommend Wallpaper Set and Save, free in the Market, to fix that problem.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.android.wallpapersetandsave
It's a funny old app, made for Cupcake I think and hasn't been changed since then. The UI is small and kind of odd looking. Changing the default settings won't stick on my Nook Color. It really wants your wallpaper to be in SDCard/wallpapers. So it barely works, but it does make wallpaper look better.
Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried that app before but it looked like it was only for regular wallpapers (where I'm not really seeing the banding)? That or I'm dense and overlooking something.
Also where are the stock wallpapers normally stored on cm7 install?

You know, there were a lot of people who noticed banding on the HD2 roms, and it did seem to vary between various roms. I never really noticed it (perhaps I used the good roms), so didn't follow it much, and couldn't say if there was a fix. But, there should be many threads on it in the HD2 android section.
I've also noticed pretty severe banding in gradients for both jpeg and png images.

As said, use something besides Gallery and it'll look fine. I use Wall Switcher and have some 20 jpg's in a directory and it switches 'em every 15 minutes, but there are lots of options.
It's not the NC, the ROM... it's the app you're using to set the background.
Just to clarify, the entire desktop starts exhibiting banding (icons, Widgets) and not just the desktop background. Almost as if the os is switching color depth. Can you guys reproduce this on your cm7 installs? Maybe I need to post screens or something.
This ONLY happens when I select a livewallpaper. Regular wallpapers dont affect the widgets and desktop icons like this. If its a matter or how im setting the live wallpaper, How do you set a live wallpaper using gallery or any other apps? What directory are they stored? Thanks.

7 replies and not one person mentions that the nook's screen is only 16 bit... of course there will be gradients, its a small issue and when I noticed it with a space themed background went ''meh'', and used a different one.

Ah. Well that would make more sense. I always thought the display was 24-bit because people are always comparing it to the Ipad screen. The clock does look distractingly bad though haha...maybe I'm just anal.
Just added some screenshots using the Grass Live Wallpaper versus one of the stock CM7 ones. For posterity.
Go to the app store and download "Large Image Viewer" it will solve all your problems. The nook color screen is an IPS display, the same as the ipad and much better than other andriod tablets. Large Image Viewer is a very fast hi res viewer and no, I am in no way affiated with them.

Errr...thanks but how is that related to this thread? haha
Dalingrin's OC kernels are 16-bit, stock is 24-bit. It's about that simple.
I campaigned for a way to switch live, and at one point he considered just such a kernel mod but I don't think it ever went anywhere.

Finally some info related to my question. Going back to the stock kernel fixed the banding issue with live wallpapers. Thank you! If anyone else is interested...details are in the OC Kernel thread (search banding, color bit depth, etc.). Wish this was explicitly stated in the OC kernel OP.

I'm noticing the same thing. The screen seems to handle gradients in regular wallpapers fine, but gradients in Live Wallpapers look horrible. Like someone stated it's like it's changing bit-depth. I'm on a stock, totally virgin Nook Color. Does anyone know how to work around this? I'm building Live Wallpapers and what looks fine on other devices looks terrible on the Color.
