It should, what other things are running at the same time? BTW, I have found that if you can dowload instead of stream, things are "much" better...but I understand the need to stream. I usually OC at 260 max.

Yes it does. I played around with HandiTV and noticed that I can now "watch" TV with overclocking (OC). Without OC, I get voice and no video on some channel. My biggest problem has always been the "cut" out by radio. None of the radio version from 2.19 to 2.61 gives me a "perfect" stream even with five bars of signal.
ps: I am extremely stable OCing to 286 (using batery status). And Skype can be used via data except the cut out by radio.

cool.. im gonna give it a try.. i was asking for the same reason.. im also using handitv and it comes in choppy sometimes.. im gonna give the overclocking a try.. which would be a good overclocking speed? im on orwells rom..
I reported earlier that OCing to 286 mhz results in the radio reseting itself once in a while and this is corrected at speed of 273mhz.
I have Handi TV on for the last 1hour without problem.
So no to speed of 286 mhz, yes to 273 mhz

Hi all,
I have this strange issue with the Youtube app on my Diamond. I posted about this in Dutty's thread and though it seems I am not the only one, no solution is knowd yet.
Here's the deal:
When I set the settings to HIGH QUALITY in the Settings dialog in the youtube app, buffering is extremely slow, it buffers with 1% intervals. I am using a high speed H network connection, and in the past I remember it would buffer with intervals of about 25-30%.
I tried different radio roms, different cooked roms (incl. stock rom/stock radio), nothing helps. It's not the locations because all other internet apps have fast internet.
Anyone knows about this? I'm kind of stuck here

+1 here! I'm using the Dutch T-Mobile with Web&Walk 1mbps internet and I have to say, that i'm indeed not satisfied with the YouTube app...
I personally think it's not the ROM or Radio, but the app itsself...
one day I compared my Youtube app with a good friend of mine with his..(Apple Iphone) and his was faster, eventhough his internet is crap speed.... about 256 kb
Anyone out here who knows about this and knows how this can be fixed?
Thanxx
Regards
Jeroen

I compared my speed with a Touch HD from a friend, same network (!), same location, both apps set to 'high quality'. Mine started buffering at 1% intervals, his buffered with 30% intervals...
Since I tried several radio roms, I tried a few complete roms (maybe my rom had an older youtube app), but every rom I tried was slow (even the stock roms).
I am completely lost here
SOLVED!
Jeroen: I finally decided to give customer support from T-Mobile a call, and guess what; they somehow downgraded me from web-n-walk plus to the normal web-n-walk.

Hey Mikkelnl
Thanxx for your reaction! I will give TMobile a ring now maybe it happened with me as well...
Thanxx mate!
EDIT: I contacted T-Mobile about my W&W and they confirmed it was still W&W plus....very weird....neway I have to deal with it I think....Could be my ROM now AZTOR V7...
Mod, Im no longer asking about its performance. I flashed it and just am reporting my findings. I hope this is the correct section, if not plz feel free to move it.
It works. I crossed the street, where my signal always and immediately died. Instead it just stayed there. Used the speedtest app and again, 3g was switched over to H (whatever that is) and its about 150-300kb faster! On wifi im closing in on 6mb, before i was barely at 4mb.
this new radio changed my life lol.
This is very interesting... I would like some further response before I think of upgrading. Anyone else with it willing to share?
I consistantly gained (on average) 6db of signal. Measured same holding/sitting possition in two different buildings, flashed and measured again.
I flashed the downgraded radio(4.04.00.03_2) this morning and haven't noticed any real difference.
4.03 works way better for me.
I just flashed back to the 4.03.00.21_2 radio from 4.04 and can say the H/3G connection appears to be way more reliable (especially when moving), on my Nexus One.
On 4.04 , if I was streaming a podcast, Pandora or youtube HD feed, the connection was guaranteed to drop during my commute. Today on 4.03, I had no problems at all.
I live in Houston, if that makes any difference.
honestly, it seems like this new radio only helps those who already have bad reception. The trend seems to be that it wont perform as best for those who have great reception. weird huh?

yes the 4.04 is too sensitive 4.03 hits the spot for me as well
I have Skype installed on my G1 with Biffmot 2.0.1 ROM (Froyo). I have to say is not such a great experience. It is very slow and while in a call it cuts a lot. I mean this is not from lack of bandwidth, it seems it is a resource problem. I overclocked to 633 and is the same.
There is one trick that solves the problem. While in a skype call, I press the End Call button to turn off the screen and it becomes usable. How about that?
Does anyone have it installed and if yes, how is it for you?
Thanks.
thanks for the tip about turning the screen off for better sound... it was driving me krazy :}

i have 14mB hack +2708 Cyanogen rom 6.1 test on my htc magic 32B
just saw ur thread..thanks for the tip..it seems to work on skype test call.
I tried same thing by using the handsfree..that seems to be working on skype test call as well.
i can say its not abt mobile processor speed. it has something to do with the power supply to display or speaker system which skype has to sort out.
i got nokia n900 .it has 600Mhz processor and skype is working flawless on it even doing video.. so why not devices like 528-600Mhz android can do the same. both are using Linux.unix kernels.
during call ram is around 20-24 MB on new radio .
i shall try calling friend using skype using both tips separately and then combined..let see how good it proves to be true.
if any one has more test results please post ur experience with how many minutes calls u made and over what data connected u tried(wifi or 3G).thanks
Hello,
I have an Optimus Black with cyanogenmod 10 Stable working really good, (rooted ofcoarse) I have unlimited data plan so I was wondering if anyone knows of any good internet speed tweaks, I mean for when i'm tethering wireless to my pc is there any build prop tweaks or anything to help improve the speed? I mean to be honest it's not that bad now I get about 1-4mbs down (depending on what time of day) and average 1.6 mbs up which the upload is really good and I do alot of online gaming to, my speed is good for that its just when i'm buffering a youtube video on my pc it is okay sometimes but it just randomly stops buffering and won't continue until I restart the vid or refresh the page and it could do with being quicker and its really slow with hd buffering 480p is the highest i can go with having to wait lol and the other thing is when ever i load a video it always start in 144p or the lowest qaulity there is lol and then I switch to 480p and it buffers okay so whats the point in starting at low quality lol and it start in 144p but actually when you see the vid the quality looks like 480p then changes to 144p lol confusing, so if anyone knows anymore build prop tweaks or just any general tweaks please
Thank you

Hi,
The fact it stop buffering at a moment may not be the internet connection speed but rather that the connection is interrupted maybe due to bad coverage or something like that.
If you want a tweak you may try Pimp my ROM available on play store.
Best browser firefox
I noticed that when I use uTorrent to download movies on my device the wifi automatically disconnects. I tried to limit my up speed and down speed and it fixed the problem but since the since the down speed is limited I only get 100kbs of down speed and nobody got time for a whole day just to download a 3gig movie. Is there any other way to fix this issue? Btw my my MIUI version is 10.3.8

Try going to Settings/Manageapps/ and look what torrent downloader you where using then you will notice that even wifi is restricted on data usage so yes your phone will automatically disconnects your wifi when downloading on torrent downloaders
Just removed mine now and im happily downloading movies
Sorry for bad eng
Had the problem too, try Flud Torrent no problem with this one
