Autoconfig - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

Hey,
I was wondering if someone could please upload or email me a copy of the files needed for Autoconfig.CAB (MMS & GPRS settings).
Ive had a look through the fourms and can't find which ROM it came with?
Thanks!
David

39 views and no one knows which ROM package the Autorun cab came with?
I think it was a Helmi release, but I cant find it anywhere...

not sure if i understood your question, but helmi's roms have all the network settings cab files in the extrom, the "operator" folder is 4.15MB in size.
sorry, i don't have the speed to upload the files.

Hmm...I think that's something a little different...might have a look though.
The one I'm talking about came in the EXTROM folder. It was Autorun.cab and also had a config.txt file with it.
Thanks...

I have an autoconfig, cab in Helmi's 3.2 v 1.3 release not sure if it sets GPRS and MMS settings though.

EDIT: Never mind, I have managed to find it on my hard drive stored away!
Thanks!

Helmi BA WM2k5 AKU3.0 Beta (v.1.2 Beta)
In this beta, Today Themes, BTA2DP, PIMG, Photo Contact, GPS, Animated Gif, Phone with CommManager (signal light turn off while in flight mode) FIXED!
Known issues:
1. There no internal integration beetween Comm Manager and Wifi, cos Different Driver beetween Wizard & BA (I've succesfully combine them in the past but forgot now how to do it again...lol).
2. When BT On, IR On, WIFI On, ActiveSync On, the tray might flick.
3. Some help file and Some Picture/images has been strip out from the ROM to create space for more usefull app.
Tips:
1. Disable Sound (Sound & Notification >> Events) might help system speed.
2. Disable Sound in phone (Phone Settings >> Keypad >> Off) might help phone speed.
3. Backup/Sync ur PIM with active sync first (Contact, email, etc) if u upgrade it from old rom (anything below AKU3.0 ROM) cos PIM management are different from the old rom ur old backup will not work, but ActiveSync will work ok.
Please read the readme file, I dont hv time to update Wiki page, but I'll love if someone do the wiki page for me. btw I think the information in Readme file is enough to flash ur rom and since no 'real' extended rom so no further preparation is needed, but u might consider to make ur old Extended_ROM size to 128kb to make more storage space for ur device.
Btw The EXTROM folder is included all operator curently supported for GPRS/MMS Setting, just delete the .CAB in ExtROM that u dont need.

If ur operator not in the list just delete all file in OPERATOR folder except CAB-Customization-BlueAngel-O2ASIAWWE-19May05.reg.CAB and run it to make a default mms profile that u can change, see README (in .RAR) for more detail.
With the Global Contacts Access plugin from Microsoft U can use the central/global exchangeserver address book. (Thanks to xdaradar for the info)

or delete the vcard.lnk in \windows\startup will also fix this problem.
Assume Today Theme fix in this ROM too? [Nevermind - see that it is via the Readme]
Also what do you mean by "Tray Flick"?

yes it does, I've edit the post, I means the tray icon is blinkin/flick it also happens in My Aku2.3 right?,
In my device if i turn on Wifi, BT, IR, ActiveSync on the same time. the tray is blinkin a little.
btw, I hv 1 question, Is there any WModem that work on WM5? do you guys ever have a Wmodem that work with BA WM5? please let me know. and also any info about BT SIM ACCESS PROFILE (SAP) is more then welcome...
Another suggestion to make communication easier
So, in the quest to have things going smooth and to make our lives easier, I want to drop in another suggestion.
In Helmi 1.1 we had a few hotfixes in the form of cab files which added/fixed features on the rom
So, my suggestion is to adopt the standard usage of a few KEYWORDS, so that we can instantly identify the attachments in the forum thread
ADDON - cab adds a feature
HOTFIX - cab fixes (or attempts to fix) broken stuff
These identifications could come embedded on the cab name. Additionally, to avoid confusion on which CAB is the latest one, they should use VERSION NUMBERS too.
after the KEYWORD, then would come either the version number, starting at 1.0, or the keyword UNTESTED.
Examples:
10xSpeed_Increase.HOTFIX.UNTESTED.cab
10xSpeed_Increase.HOTFIX.1.0.cab
I believe this little detail could make testers' lifes easier...
Up, up and away!
Downgrade first?
I know this is probably in the wiki, but I didn't find it from a brief search.
I'm currently on Tuma 1.3. If I want to try this, do I need to downgrade to 2003SE first? If not, do I need to wipe the hive, etc?
Sorry for the basic question...
You can upgrade to Helmi's ROM without downgrading.
But yes, you will need to clear the registry.
SpeedTweak CABs?
@helmi:
The 'speedtweak' CABs are not inside the EXTROM. Can you put them on the FTP site or attach them on the first post of the thread? BTW, just flashed, going to test now.
And many many thanks!
are the contact entries shown using pocket informant with this new rom?
hey helmi_c,
great work man. and plz remember how to integrate beetween Comm Manager and Wifi.
I notice u removed Speedtweak cab from your v1.2. has the speedtweak been incorporated directly or we dont need that anymore.
good work man,

thanks sevenslidegrills, but when i run the cab file, it says
"Installation of WM5_SmartDial.Cab
was unsuccessful."
am i supposed to change anything before installing the cab file?
edit: i found another cab file with the same name (but larger size) that worked! should perform soft reset after installation.
Bluetooth and turn on ???
Are there some ideas about BT , when device is turning on by itself ,
And as i sad WM5 is turning on by itself without display you can observ it by playing mp3's and turning off your device...

Help Lost MMS after upgrade

Hi all,
I just upgraded my Dutch T-Mobile ROM to the 2.26 US one and it works great, BUT, I no longer have MMS in MESSAGING ?
I only have Text Messages and Outloock E-mail.
Anyone have an idea on how to get it back?
Thanks,
Dave...
You need to find the Cab file in the dutch extended rom that has MMS in the name, it will install everything you need for MMS.
Did you install extrom or else u probably need the cab called MP-Shorcut-MMS1-Java5xx-Voice-CV-TMUS-060406.CAB

That file from me might not be the best one as it has additional stuff in there that some folks might not like (was one of my early cab experiments)
The only file I use is the Connection Wizard cab included below. (rename from .zip to .cab)
I don't use MMS so I know nothing about that but skOt posted CAB files for MMS folder and Cingular settings inside!
Can't find the FTP site.
I can never seem to get to the FTP site. Can someone give me a direct link....
Thanks

Thorough descriptions
Have you guys found an extensive description of the CAB files? I have a buch of ExtROMS but lots of CABs are not documented.
I would suggest having a new thread where we post whatever we know from the CABs in order to get a final list for people willing to cook their own ExtROMs... What do you think.
Finally, on the CINGULAR, I have built a splashscreen for the two screens below. If you like it I can share.
I am looking for the CAB that customizes the Today Theme for Cingular and the phone pad skin as well. Please let me know if you have an idea of their names.
TIA,
-Feaps®
Very nice... I will try, it looks really nice...

CIngular Splashes
Here you go.
Sorry it took forever, but I was out on vacation.
One uses the RUU and is intended for replacing the first boot screen.
The second is a CAB you run from your Wizard and replaces the second screen.
Have fun,

Looking for Connectionsetup 1_5_35082_1

Hi.
I would like to know if anyone has the CAB files for the Connectionsetup 1_5_35082_1.
All i know is that this Connectionsetup is available in the "HyperDragon III OPAL OS 5.2.19971 B. 19971.1.2.6" ROM, but i couldn't get them from there.
This connectionsetup has the configurations for Brasil's Phone companies.
Thanks in advance,
Carlos
Did you find the file?
I'd like it too.
Is this what your looking for where it asks you your provider then sets up the connection?
-McMex
Yes, but this is version 1.0
And I think it's corrupted.
Corrupted you mean from the upload? I have never had a problem with it. if you think its the file I will reupload if its to old sorry.
-McMex
Here's the closest I have, its 1_5 but a little different number after that. This is the one from -888- rom cabs.
No, something strange

When I installed it, and got to the screen where I'm asked where to install the app (device, sd card), the application name was not the same as the file, but rather something like "your application name" (and that's how it appeared under the start-settings-system-remove apps).
Further, when I ran the app, the list of countries and cell operators was empty, and then I received a strange error message.
So I uninstalled and reinstalled my v1.0 copy.
Thank you, I'll try it out

Do you also have the bluetooth cabs for the latest AT&T WM6.1 ROM? (or from any other ROM that uses them).
The NATF ROM I'm using doesn't show the services tab.
I also need the BT explorer cab.
Thanks.

Jade SuperROM Kitchen v1.0 - CE 5.2.20765

Due to a few requests and because some Chefs may be struggling to port the XIP from the Iolite I've decided to release my SuperROM Kitchen.
This kitchen will build a Jade ROM with CE 5.2.20765 (Build 20765.1.4.4) OS and kernel.
All the Jade applications have been updated to the newer Iolite versions and Iolite's Footprints is included.
The XIP and SYS from the Iolite have been fully ported.
A few drivers remain from the European 1.40.405.3 ROM, the rest are updated.
Sample footprints, pictures, music and movies have been removed.
Opera and Google Maps have been removed and are included as CABS.
TIP: If you remove Footprints you can disable the Footprints Widget by setting enable to 0 in the Tabs section of the HTCHomeSettings.xml file.
Many thanks to udK for the original Jade Kitchen and to the following for their tools which without none of this would be possible.
bepe for his BuildOS & XIPPort
Dark Simpson for his HTC ROM Tool
misar for G'Reloc & M'Reloc
Olipro for his Hard-SPL
tupisdin for the shipped ROM
tadzio for ImgFS Tools

hello,thank you for your Package,but i have a question, what are X0-X9 ?
thanks again~
I also don't know about the following files, could you explain the functions for me pls :
PACKAGE_Iolite_CLL
PACKAGE_Iolite_zlibce_m
UpdateBlock
ShadowPkg
many thanks!
so if I copy some cabs in the folder CABS and then run buildrom.bat the applications (that cabs file) will be compiled/included in the rom?

No, the CAB folder just contains the two cabs removed from the build.
It's a bad idea to have cabs included in the ROM, i.e. Google Maps and Opera. When the device does it's first boot it installs these cabs but it can't delete the cab files as they're burnt into the ROM so you are wasting about 5MB of memory. The idea is to copy these to your Jade and install them after the first boot, the cabs can then be delete from the Jade.

CLL has to do with Client Location, when you use the Footprints app it will try to determine your position using a few different methods, GPS, WiFi, CellID (it aks your permission the first time you use it). If it can determine your position it uses it as the default caption for the footprint.
zlibce seems to be a compression/decompression library that is probably used by another application.
UpdateBlock, ShadowPkg, X0 to X9. I don't know, they were in the original Iolite ROM so they're in the kitchen. You can probably delete them and your ROM will work fine although you'll save very little space.
I only took out Google Maps and Opera as it's pointless and a waste of space having CAB files burnt into the ROM when they can be installed after you've flashed your ROM.
thank you for your answer~
but i got new one:
is there any solution to stop Activesync popping up automatically??
fake server setting seems not work for me ~
thanks~
so do I have to copy my part01 and 02 in the kitchen? or it's enough to "build.bat" and the rom is ready? If that so, what's the point of "kitchen"? and what is exactly these "footprints" ?

No, you don't copy anything from your ROM into the kitchen, the idea is that you take things out if you want a 'lite' version.
If you want to know what Footprints is then I suggest you build a ROM in my kitchen, install it and have a play around... or have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YITWCZxvHz0, not the same phone but you'll see a footprints demo about 1 minute into the movie.
yeap, really great. so this rom is exactly as it comes (in other words is kitchen for jade with iolite (footprints) features) and we will modify it as we want, or let it as it is. and footprints will use automatically the gps, to take the coordonates?

Does anybody have a problem with footprints?
It wont start up on my jade

It's not just 'Kitchen for Jade' plus Footprints, everything is updated including newer OS and kernel.
Footprints will automatically use the GPS, it will also use AGPS if you agree to it the first time you use footprints (and yes you can switch off the AGPS later if you don't want it). You can't switch of the GPS as otherwise Footprints would just be a camera!

What i mean is:
When I start up the HTC Touch 3G, ActiveSync is running. I stop it, but sooner or later it will show up in the Tasks running again. I'll leave the HTC Touch 3G alone for awhile, come back and ActiveSync is running again.
I did the ActiveSync Fake server Trick(Fake IP, Set schedules to Manual, etc..), but that didn't help.
Sorry for my poor English~
maybe someone can help me: i'm trying to make my own rom, and i have a problem: i've made oem packages from the cabs, and i've copied the entire folder (with all files including .dsm and .rgu) into OEM folder, and after that, i've pressed BuildROM.bat but appears an error at one of the application (i've included 5): The file 'temp\dump\SETUPDLL.dll' allready exists. Yes, I have this file on 3 applications folders. How can i solved it? I supose if I will delete from 2 applications folders the "setupdll.dll" file, the app will not work anymore correctly. Please help me.

I'd suggest you do some reading on how to convert cabs to packages and vice versa
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=467842
i will try that variant too, but, for moment i want to know what should i do with what i've converted. look on the attachament to see if i need only that 2 files, or entire directory.
a problem that i have at finalisation of the compilation: see attachament.
