If you have problem to flash the update for radio ROM only, try to flash the whole official ROM which I posted the web site, then re-flash again with your favor WM 6.1 ROM; it always works because it's official ROM...
By the way, I don't know that TOMTOM has version 7 for PDA, where did you get ths version?
Cheers,
Hi, its working now, thank you for youre tips!

I have it with the western europe maps

extrom version 1.23.405.103
nowadays no one reply in this forum very sad
I think your rom is the old one with no gps. I would flash hard spl on your phone and upgrade with a gps enabled rom. As for your TomTom have you got the data on your sd card? Because you will need to reinstall to your phone again after rom flash.

Come on, this forum is "staffed" by volunteers, and it's a weekend. So expecting a reply in less than an hour and a half is a wee bit optimistic.
As for a ROM that does GPS i think you will find most of the new ones do work with TomTom. i am currently using chanvi93's Ultralite WM6.1 ROM and my TomTom works just fine.
Looking at your Device Info, my Radio is the same.
ROM - 21014ULite
ROM date - 01/16/09
Radio - 1.38.00.11
Protocol - 32.71.7020.12H

ROM - 3.21202f
ROM date - 04/05/09
Radio - 1.38.00.11
Protocol - 32.71.7020.12H
after that i put tomtom card and it installed the tomtom soft itself but still its. can u please tell me what should i choose in gps setting as it 4 to 5 options like wired gps, nema, other gps device and then it asks me to select gps connected so i selelct comport 9 and after that it says waiting for valid gps and it stays there any thing else and where i'm going wrong any help is appreciated thanks
br
What does TomTom say:
No GPS device
Waiting for a valid GPS signal
If 1 then it's not seeing the GPS itself, if 2 then patience is the order of the day.
You might like to do a search and install GPSTest, this will scan all COM ports and then connect to your GPS chip and then tell you what settings it is using. Also i have had mixed results using Q-GPS to speed up the time taken to get a fix.
FYI, mine is on COM9, 9600 baud, using "Built-in GS receiver"
it says waiting for valid gps and then if i go out for may be 5 to 10 mins still waitin fo valid gps flashed the lates radio as well 1.46 but no luck.
br
Have you tried GPS Test just to make sure that it is even seeing the GPS chip? I have known mine take a good 5 minutes to get a fix, and its worse sometimes if i dont stay still, am surrounded by buildings.
Hello,
sorry for this topic, but I'm new here and not too skilled, so I need a detailed help 'cause I'm getting crazy!!...
Well, I have a p3600 EN version,
WM5,
rom version 1.23.405.2 (dated 2007-03-11),
radio version 1.38.00.11,
ExtVersion 1.23.405.103.
I read everywhere that HTC released rom and radio upgrades which unlock GPS (that I actually don' t see),
so I tried to download the latest official rom version (I still don't know the code, it should be the 1.23.408...) from the HTC download area, but it makes me download ONLY the same rom version that I still have, the 1.23.405.2!!!
I tried to flash it anyway and nothing changed...
That's why the 405.2 may is the latest rom version available for my phone?
Or my phone may have some sort of lock on it's codes so that I can't upgrade anything? it could be possible?
What is the right rom version I should have?
Please help me!!!
thanx in advance

Hi Debby,
After you upgrade your ROM you wiil need to flash radio with Trinity_Radio_1567011_1216023505 .
To test GPS function download and intstall on the phone GPS test, then choose beetwen Tom Tom and IGO and install'it on the phone.
for GPS test try this download link http://www.smartphone-freeware.com/download-gps-test.html
For the ROM I can help you only by email.
Y have the ROM and I can send you by email.
Be confident, you will succeed.
Good luck
Thanx a lot soso!!!
There's something I still don' t understand, but it's me I'm not skilled at all
What rom version do u have to send me? there's a newest version than the 1.23.405.2?
So the steps are: install the rom u will send me, then install the radio upgrade, and then test the GPS...right?
Can I send u my email address by PM?
Hi Debby,
I have the ROM upgrade only for radio version 1.56.70.11.
This upgrade is aplying only to the radio ROM
Your WM ROM will not change.
This is what I have on my P3600:
ROM version 1.23.405.2
ROM date 03/11.07
Radio ROM 1.56.70.11
ExtROM version 1.23.405.103
Before upgrading the radio ROM ,try the GPS test program.
Some phones "reveal" GPS capabilities with your radio ROM version.
Anyway,in both ROM version you don't actually see an icon for GPS device.
Install GPS test, run it from programs menu and you will see if you need or not an radio ROM upgrade.
If your GPS unit is enebled, the program will find it.
First connection of the GPS unit will take 3 or maybe 4 minute.
comunication port: 9
speed 57600
If GPS test find a GPS unit, install an navigation application(IGO or Tom Tom) , run it and enjoy
I wait a PM with your email address.
Bye
FWIW here is a link to the official WM5 ROM that does enable the GPS chip. It's the one i used initially to enable the GPS before making the leap to WM6.1. If i remember correctly it's a one step upgrade. Think it is the ROM/Radio you already have.
Mega Upload
GPSTest can be had from here, ChartCross Ltd.
Install and run it, it will then scan your Trinity for the GPS and report back onthe settings it is usung, and if left to settle down with a decent sky view, it will actually list the satellites it finds.
