Hi all,
I update my qtek 9090 one week ago with the newest helmi rom.
Everyting works fine exept one thing:
I can't connect with active sync 4.5 to my BA, as soon when I put the BA in the gradel, a network icon pops up and a few seconds later also activesync is starting up. But I can't connect anymore to my BA. I can't make a partnership or even a gast account.
Troublesshooter for Active Sync gives the follow result:
1 known issues found.

I checked everything but can't find the proper solution,
Sometimes I get an error on my computer: "Critical communication services have failed to start. Try resetting the mobile device, and then connect again" But when I do a reset on my BA, the same happens
I really hope someone can help me to solve the problem.
Already thanks and greetings,
NLDarK
try to un-install active sync n re-install it... if that not work remove your M$ Office n re install it. good luck
Thx for the info, but that was not the problem
I installed a new program (system mechanic 7 Pro) and that program stops the connection between BA and PC
But thanks anyway
Greetings,

I Cant Connect My Mobile To Pc Via Activesync Whenever I Upgrade To Windows Mobile 5. I Had The Same Problem Even In Tuma v1.3...
I Have ActiveSync v4.1.0 (Build 4841)
And So I M Not Able To Copy All The Files Of Ext Rom.....
Plz Someone Help Me...
AS 4.2 went final the other day, try the latest version. AFAIK it contains a lot of bug fixes.
Also, some people have problems when plugged into a USB hub, try a direct connection or even another port.
Did you check and see if your mobile network setting (local PC) is set correctly?
Goto My network --> Properties
and you should see a netowrk connection for Windows Mobile Device.
Go to properties, and enable the Internet Protocol for the device.
i'm really keen to get this issue fixed.. any suggestions would be appreciated.
i have just downgraded from WM6 to WM2003SE (o2 XDA offical rom 1.40 for AUS) and i cannot sync the device anymore.
i have completely set the device back to it's original state, ext rom, main rom, radio rom. the PDA itself works fine, no issues there.
i receive an error when i try to sync with my laptop.. (which it used to sync with when i put WM6 on the device).
the error is - cannot verify the version of activesync on your device, a program such as a firewall may be blocking a port activesync uses to connect to your device, you may need to upgrade to a more recent version or activesync
i have removed activesync, deleted all the registry entries, folders and files relating to activesync that i could find. reinstalled activesync, still no luck.
-> i can get the device to sync with my desktop without any problems (i never used the desktop to sync to it when WM6 was installed)
however all my data is on the laptop.
Any ideas ?
update
here is an extract from the log..

i can get into bootloader.. can't get it to work when i press power, reset, camera and record.. just goes into bootloader.. or the numbers come up on the bottom..
could there be some residual information left behind from the previous install of WM6 ??
how do i set the version no manually ? is this done in the PDA registry ??
I don't remeber having this problem. All you can do it try to downgrade ActiveSync to one of the older versions.
My I9000 works like a charm - if I don't set it up. -.-
A while ago I discovered that Kies (1.5.3.10093_82) won't sync Outlook-Contacts or Calendar-entries. Starts the Sync, stays at 100%, but does not complete.
After hitting Cancel and/or disconnecting the phone from the USB-jack, Kies crashes...
My ROM is Sztupy's International ROM 3.0 (but it didn't work with the stock JPM from opensource.samsung.com either...)
Just recently I got a clue (but no solution) regarding this issue:
mobile
- Factory-Reset, completing Tutorial
- Setting up a Google-Account (for calender sync)
PC (Windows 7 x64)
- completely uninstalling Kies & Drivers
- Deleting C:\ProgramData\Samsung
- Deleting C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Samsung
- Deleting Registry Keys for Samsung (HKLM>Software>Samsung)
- Reboot
- Installing Kies
--- I sorted out the connection issues, so there are no driver problems here ---
After Connecting the SGS with the PC, Kies CAN sync both contacts and Calendar...
Then I set up 2 exchange accounts and connected with Facebook and installed all my apps:
NO SYNC anymore.
As if Kies doesn't get any information at all.
Does anyone have an idea about this? Does any application hinder the proper communication between Kies and the phone? My virus scan? I don't know...
See if this helps. Theres a known bug in kies where it chucks a **** if it finds media files with more then 16 letters. Dont ask me why. Go find the files using external storage mode and rename or delete. A user on here wrote a app that does this but i can find the link.
Sent from my GT-I9000
I haven't tried it (since I uninstalled Kies completely and syncing everything with exchange now...)
but I can exclude that fact. It works until I have other Accounts synced with my phone.
The 'new' Kies version (Kies_1.5.3.10103_100_2) completes the sync process and lets me click on OK, BUT there is nothing synced!
Think I have to leave the Android/Samsung-area and switch to a functioning Windows phone for my business tasks...
same here. my one is more funny. in kies mode, it connect to pc. and i can access to gti9000 icon and can browse phone memory. but funny thing is, kies stuck on connecting screen. i did windows reinstall(XP), new kies 1.5.xxxx, reinstall kies drivers, factory reset and format internal sd card. still same problem. now i am regreting my decission to buy galaxy instead of iphone 4. damn u samsung..........
one more thing, after i connect galaxy in kies mode, i cant browse to internal sd card said its unavailable. then i have to restart or set it to usb storage mode to work it again. is this waring of internal sd card failure?
Hi, did anyone find an answer to this? Cheers

Useful guide, a couple of points if I may...
Firstly regarding your step 1, I never uninstalled Sync, even though all of the guides tell you to. I used to use it to sync my phone so it was not convenient to do this. If you simply right click on the icon in the tray (on windows, next to the clock in the bottom right corner) then close the program, all off this still worked for me.
Secondly about your step 2, it would be good to create a folder in the root of C: drive (on your PC) and save these 'tools' in, call it something like 'Android' so it is easy to remember and easy to navigate to in the cmd prompt when using adb/fastboot.

Hi. I'm new with this rooting thing (only rooted a phone once, and only because the process was very easy), so i wish you could help me.
I'm tryin' to root my Xperia SP (C5303) using the easy rooting toolkit (the lastest version), but when i run the .bat file and press any key, the process never ends. Sometimes it stucks in a "Waiting for Device" message. Sometimes, in a "daemon started succesfully" message. I guess that's because the file doesn't recognize correctly my device, but i don't know exactly where's the problem. I saw some people having the same issues but i couldn't found any way to fix it.
Are you running win 8/8.1 of yes it won't work many problems with drivers.
Easy way is to find and use win 7 PC then follow the guide

I'm using win 7. I'm following the steps indicated by doomlord, flashing the kernell to an older version (and i think this part is ok, cause my phone says that i can upgrade the software and before that, it was in .254). But the .bat file part doesn't work. USB debugging mode is on, so as Unknown sources. I'm thinkin' that the problem could be the drivers, but when i use adb driver installer, it shows that the driver is already installed in my pc. I tried to reinstall this driver and nothing changes. The connection with flashtool and pc companion is ok, but i think that the .bat file part is a problem (obviously, i'm a noob. I can easily be wrong).
Edit: Today i tried again to run the .bat file. Something new appeared:
--- STARTING ----
--- WAITING FOR DEVICE
--- creating temporary directory
mkdir failed for tmp, File exists
--- cleaning
--- pushing files
15 KB/s (326 bytes in 0.021s)
770 KB/s (1578 bytes in 0.002s)
and that's it...
Obs: sometimes it stucks in "creating temporary directory" too
