I was trying to open the extended rom of both the MDAIII and the latest PDA2K rom with ER2003 but the password 0x20040522 didn't work. Is there another way for editing the rom on the desktop (not on the pda itself)?
Have a look here (Schau doch mal hier): UNLOCK - TOOL

Hello,
I would also like to know. Any info?!
Thanks
Does anyone have any ideas? Attempting to use ER2003 to edit extended ROM for PDA2K, and password doesn't work...help!
hi all,
I have a PDA2K that i'd like to edit the extended ROM of.
I've downloaded the ROM updates, but i'd like to customise the contents of ms_.nbf.
does anyone know the password?
if so, what tools do i need to get in there and edit the file?
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance !!
Hi,
I don't think i was clear enough in my original post, but can anyone at all help me with this ?
i've downloaded the lastet ROM update from club-imate:
ROM version: 1.22.00 WWE
ROM date: 10/22/04
Radio version: 1.06.00
Protocol version 1337.38
ExtROM version: 1.22.162 WWE
I'm using WM 2003 ROM Image editor, so as I can customise my EX_ROM.
i've tried this password to try and unlock my ms_.nbf 0x20040522.
But it is the incorrect one.
anyone have any ideas ?
there's a free cookie for the person that helps me gain access to my EX_ROM
The program you've mentioned is not compatible with the PDA2K (Blueangel) roms. Therefore you cannot use it to edit your extended rom. I actually don't know a program that would do it for PDA2K. Sorry...
i had a feeling that would be the case
i've been able to unlock my EX_ROM, no problem.
I can create my own cab files, but what i CAN'T do is repack the ms_.nbf file, so as i can upload it back to my device.
would you know how to do that ?
hmmm, i mustn't have been logged in when i posted the above reply
Well, keep a copy of yor extended rom in the unpacked formatd ( cabs, autorun.exe, config.txt etc ) on your computer's harddrive. Once you've edited the extended rom, it will stay that way on your handheld until the next rom update, in other words everytime you hardreset your device the new edited extended rom will be excuted. And once you upgrade your rom, you can still copy the files back to your extended rom. It is kind of complicated and not the best way to resolve the problem but unfortunately the only way for now
yes, that way would work with my device.
problem i have is, that i'm building this as an SOE for a large corporation, so I need to deploy my image to many devices, making it a real pain in the hole.
anyways, thanks for your help thus far .
I've spent hours going through the beginner's guide and have searched all over for this. I'm confused because I've seen different answers and explanations to this so would appreciate some advice.
I'm running an O2 Asia IIs on the latest ROM and I'm sick of the lack of stability and the need to reset it 2-3 times a day. So, I've decided to change ROMs, and have been recommended the iMate ROM (although if anyone else knows of other reliable ROMs then let me know)
My device from getdevicedata is:
PH20B 0 B WWE E O2ASI001 1.40.00 0 0 1.40.923 1.12.00 12.00
Where I'm stuck and scared of moving forwards is: I've tried running the xda3nbftool against PDA2k_WWE_14000_176_11200 but it keeps saying that the password is wrong. I've discovered that I need to run it with the -t option against the nbf files to get the passwords out so I tried that, but there's no password for the radio_.nbf file. And then after I've modified the editfix batch file with the updated passwords for the ms_.nbf file and the nk.nbf file, it still says that the password could be wrong the first time (subsequent runs don't say this however).
Then I saw the info about the "TYPE II" methodology, so I am confused and don't want to risk having a phone that is dead or unusable for a period of time because I chose to do it the wrong way - I want to do this the right way and have honestly checked everything I can think of to get this working - if someone could set me on the right path it would be great.
Thanks

I'm using the O2 Asia ROM, on my PDA2k, before of the dodgy i-Mate Bluetooth Headset Problems
Can anyone help...
I've followed the (excellent) instructions on getting DeviceData.txt, have manipulated by EditFix.bat etc...... but am getting password warnings.
Does anyone know where I can get hold of the right passwords for the files ???
(or an o2 UK 1.40 download ???)
many Thanks !!!
:?
I second that request....
The O2 page asks you for your mobile, and IMEI. I can give them an IMEI ( as I have a IIs, but I don't have an O2 account.
Anyone ?
The ecitfix.bat works only for type I roms. All of the new roms are type II.
You can bypass the check by using the ma_upgrade tool found on the 1.40 wiki upage page.... or download the type I 1.40 ce only rom.
The o2 stuff is found in the ext rom, visit the wiki kitchen for more info.
hope that helps
Where is the link? Please give me the link, that I have the IMEI, I could login.
Hey guys I have what I hope is a simple question. When I use Wizard Service Tool to extract the nk.nbf file from the Official AT&T WM5 Rom, I get the following Rom parts:
9b000000-Extension.nb
9d000000-HTC.nb
80040000-OS_0.nb
90000000-IPL_1.nb
90000000-IPL_2.nb
91000000-SPL_1.nb
91000000-SPL_2.nb
92000000-Splash.nb
96000000-GSM_0.nb
My question is: Is IPL/SPL_1 or 2 the G4 IPL/SPL?
Thanks in advance.
IPL_2 and SPL_2 are the G4 IPL/SPL. You can open them up in notepad and it shows it in the first line.

Click to collapse
Absolutely right, except that i would use a hexeditor to check it
