Ok, im not really to new to this forum ive been using different roms i got from here on my wing(herald) which is running "OTP v6.5 Biggy.nbh". But, my question is i just bought a wizard for my gf and she really likes the operation system set up on my wing. Is the .nbh file im using on my wing usable on the wizard like do i just change it out of my herald ruu program drop it in the wizards and load flash away? thats what im gathering from reading but, i just would like to make sure. oh and btw its a g3 cid unlocked and ready to flash. Thanks in advance for any help
In short, probably, since Windows Mobile is essentialy the same software, regardless of the platform that it is on. In long, I personally wouldnt do it. While the Wing and the Wizard are essential the same spec wise, they are not identical hardware wise, which in my opinion would spell diasaster for you if you try to flash a Wing ROM to the Wizard or vice-versa. We have many different WinMo 6.1 flavors for download here, and im sure that one of them would be too your liking. Please my friend, dont sacrifice a Wizard for experimentation!
Personally, I would try the latest TNT build(20237 I think), its very fast, and WinMo 6.1, and the latest build to boot!
Hope that helps!

EDIT-Gahh, dunno what happened, but I double posted by accident! Can a mod please remove this? (and not use the temp. ban hammer?)
That is some good advice. I was also kinda wondering about this kind of thing and just happened to come accross your post.

Heh, perhaps by another member...but not from me! I try not to flame people asking innocent questions like that, now crap that is in the FAQ or something...THATS WHEN THE FLAMING BEGINS!! heh, but yeah, the latest TNT is indeed based off of the Touch Diamond ROM thats been floating around, so you are good to go there.
@hotrod101, glad I could be of service!
hello all,
i love HTC software/ROM's (touch it from Itje), but have came across what looks to be the best software going, it is the HTC magic software, i am thinking to get rid of my xperia and getting the HTC, unless there is some amazing person who will be able to copy it to a ROM for our xperia.
have a look at following page to see for yourself:

thank you in advance

This is a phone with Andriod (Google's Mobile Phone OS) as OS system, so impossible to run on a Windows Mobile phone ..

Rubbish.
While we might not be there yet there is no technical reason why this is not achievable. We don't have drivers and specs and the like that are needed to do the job properly YET. There is nothing which fundamentally makes running Android/Linux impossible other than current lack of information.

Drivers and specs? Dude, please learn something about Andriod, its totally different as WM, so with a driver or some tweaks it is impossible to run on a WM phone, you would have to rebuild the whole os which isnt an opperation similar to cooking a rom..
have a read in the android dev forums. I think the SPL is different, but may be wrong. So i don't think it's as simple as just using an nbh (which is a pity).. The g1 is also a HTC device.. some of the guys on the G1 forums would explain exactly whether it was possible or not..
However there is continual development on building android for current devices, including a thread in this very forum.. See Xmoo for details..
Yeah, emulating another up-to-date OS...just think of all the the 15years old gameboy and NES-games that are still slow when they are emulated under Windows Mobile.
The only possibility would be to not emulate Android but boot it instead of Windows Mobile...but I don't think the hardware is built for this so you won't get everything to work as it's meant to be.
By the way...Android is ugly in my opinion.
i think it must be possible.....
cause the Magic has the same chipset like touch HD and so the hardware should be very similar.....
i know a guy who was flashing a symbian OS on an Sony ericsson W810i and it runs..... extremely slow but it runs.
i think the only thing would be the different display resolution...... and some driver things but i have no skills in programmng so dont ask me xD
Err...........
It is possible and even i the case of Vogue CDMA, most functions are working
Diamond and Raphael has managed to boot Android 1.0 and even get the radio working (though no bluetooth, wifi, 3G nor sound yet) so sending SMSs is possible and so is making calls, though you can't hear anything because there is no sound yet.
Blackstone also recently managed to fix the screen issue...
I'm sure there are more projects going on, but it's definitly possible to run Android on WM devices
Well I've got 1.0 booting on the x1.. Unfortunately I havent got the touchscreen working just yet... the onscreen keyboard does, not the screen.
I will work on it when I get a chance, but my linux box is at work, so experimenting is best when I get a chance there.
Screen colours are perfect, the screens still upside down though..
I'm still learning about how this works, but I'm learning quickly..
as to the talk of emulators, this isn't emulation..
I had mighty rom on my Bell HTC CDMA touch Diamond and it worked fine. I then tried to install a windows mobile 6.5 EnergyROM 3.0 and now my phone keeps rebooting and i do not know what to do. Can someone help please?
energy rom is for GSM diamonds ONLY
pls do research b4 u flash. CDMA and GSM diamonds are very different. U can't flash GSM ROMs 2 a CDMA diamond.
It didnt say GSM only so i thought it was a hybrid or something. Yeah i know im not ery smart when it comes to this stuff. Is there anthing i can do to get a WINMO 6.5 on there or even my Mighty ROM back? My phone doesnt work at all now and i am a wee bit nervous that i FUBAR'ed it.

I had a friend make the same mistake. I told him to replace this old phone, but he doesn't want to. Did you ever figure this out?
I admit that I am a complete rookie when it comes to any serious modifications oh phones, but I have recently been diving in as deep as I can with the help of this great forum. I am curious if anyone thinks it will even be possible/easy to get the latest version of Android running on the Imagio (US Verizon) at some point.
Thanks
Why not just buy the HTC Droid Eris?

Because I just bought the Imagio.
I'm sure once this beast is unlocked it will be ported over.

Yeah, just hang in there. Duno why it's taking so long to get the unlock, but whatever........ It'll be soon and then it's bye-bye Verizon!!
I am definitely interested in this, but I also feel that the resistive touch screen will limit the touch functionality,
while its resistive touch, its extremely responsive. its very intuitive, it reacts when you want it to and never reacts to an accidental touch. i wouldnt let that hinder you.
i know they got android running on the omnia so i see no reason why it wont be running on the imagio. i started a thread here to try to collect some spl unlock information for newbies like myself, maybe we can figure it out sooner rather than later.
I would love this. I had one for my tytnII on AT&T. It would be even better now especially if we could get 2.1 running.
someone should cruz over to the blackstone forum and try the android build. It isnt a flash, you boot it from within windows. The imagio and the blackstone are virtually the same device.
Not really.

Actually you guys should Try the Topaz build. The Imagio is a different looking Touch Diamond2/ AT&T Pure. I doubt it will since you guys have a different size screen and mebe other Hardware changes because it's CDMA but you could try.
The Topaz Android does work on the Touch Pro 2. The Imagio could be considered the bastard child of the Diamond2 and Pro2.
nobody listen to this bs. only flash your phone with imagio roms. if you are going to run an enviroment, make sure it is for the imagio. the imagio might kinda look like this phone and act like that phone, but its not this or that phone. dont screw your device up. just hang in there.
You are a complete retard. Don't post before you research. Android on a Windows Mobile device does not require a flash. It is an image that boots up inside of WM and "kills" WM and boots Android. It causes absolutely no harm to your phone.
RESEARCH before you post your dumb idiotic ideas that have absolutely no base.
listen dumbass,
i told them not to use roms and various other crap made for other phones, because and i know this may come to a shock to someone who is an expert like you, but..............phones vary. why dont you do some research. start by googling "whats a phone" and then go on to searching "why am i such a dumbass"
yet again IMAGE not a ROM. If you start the IMAGE in windows mobile it will boot android. If you RESET the phone its windows mobile again..... No harm, no damage......

http://www.androidonhtc.com/kaiser:install
"Installing Android
Currently, Android is booted from within Windows Mobile. It does not run INSIDE Windows Mobile nor is it emulated! An application named HaRET is used as a bootloader to REBOOT the device into Android."
Now I am sorry if I offended you and I agree people should not just go and put and ROM on your phone...
I am also not responsible if someone does mess up there stuff, precautions should be taken.
I understand how the whole android ordeal works, i was voicing concern over the fact that it says Kaiser. It doesent say WinMo, it specifically says Kaiser. I can only assume this is because it has not been tested for full functionality on other devices. While yes, I see no real reason why this shouldnt work, it truthfully may not. You and me both have been there man, you put something on your phone, it should work, it works, then suddenly your hard resetting. I simply dont want any newbies to start throwing stuff for different model phones on their device thinking its going to be fine. I was simply saying if it isnt designed for your model phone specifically, do some research, ask around see if someone has it working on their device.
Kaiser = HTC Kaiser which is a Windows Mobile phone.
*sigh* honestly, just forget it.

Just because it is a Windows Mobile phone doesn't mean it will work...
HTC Kaiser DOES NOT equal HTC Imagio.
The entire basis of why we are still waiting for ROMs on the Imagio is because it is a DIFFERENT phone model..obviously just because there is an Android build able to run on Windows Mobile doesn't mean we can just use it right off the bat.
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=104666
case in point. this guy had to tweak it heavily and it still doesent work right.
why?
because its not a direct line. yes, kaiser= htc kaiser blah blah blah
but phone models are DIFFERENT.
whether its a rom, or a .cab, or ANYTHING if it isnt made for your phone, theres a good chance it WONT work. theres your proof. if this build worked on ALL windows mobile phones, various builds dedicated to specific models would not be around folks. thank you.
I was wondering if it is possible to port the MAGLDR thing for Hd2 to diamond. And even if its done will it enable Diamond to flash Android NAND roms like HD2.
what do you mean with NAND?

So now, we could continue to give our informations about it...
Please don't talk about your sources, or about author who could be ban a day on xda, if you do that, this thread is gonna be closed.
So, what I know is that developpement coud be on road, because Touch Pro & Fuze will get there own Nands and our diamond is in the raphael's series like these.
I saw too that a guy were interested named modai could make some work on it..
Anyone know something ?
You guys think that all this is a comedy ?
