My personal vote is that you not play the the OLD Cingular Rom (2.25) that was just released today.
I also think that you have done a great job on the AKU 2.3 Rom.
Now I hope that you re-focus your efforts on getting us a good AKU 2.5 Rom (as you mentioned).

Oh you can bet that's where my attention is...or will be shortly. I'm getting CF2 into AKU 2.3 and making a few small tweaks..that I'll throw up in the next few days.
AKU 2.5 will be pretty easy to get up with a few mods relatively quickly. I'll put up a bare version too for folks to build stuff for other carriers.

A more helpful approach from my end would be: besides testing and feedback, is there anything that we and I may do to help further your efforts in buidling a new aku 2.5?

Any way you can make a Rom with Dutch language in it, or with the posibility to change between Languages?
I really want to try the Mr. Clean Rom, but my only problem is I like my Wizard in Ducth language and not in WWE.

Hi molski, your Wizard is just any language that you throw at it. Install a WWE Rom and its in English; the languages are part of the Rom, not the device. I flashed the Mr. Clean Rom on my dutch Orange SPV M3000 and now it's WWE.

I have used a few of these roms on my friends and relative phones. This guy does awsome work. I think the best way to help him is to send money to pay pal so that he can get his hands on more phones to test it with. Or just send him a few phones so that he can get more tests done.
Where can I get the roms....... where is the link for the ftp I use the old ones I saved as my favorites but it says page not found.

Yeah I know, but I hoped that Summiter could make a Mr. Clean Rom with Dutch language cooked in it and not WWE (for all us Dutch users, that like their device in Dutch....like me)
i'm anxious for your 2.5 as well.

There's an official aku3.3 rom out there now. I can't wait to see what all of the talented rom cookers out there can do with it on the wizard side of things
i think heralds rom is better (easier) to build a rom for wizard. a hardware is similiar to wizards config.

Can you give me more pointers to threads discussing this patch? I've tested it on my Dell Axim x51v and found it as bad as the old, 2.3 AKU. Not a tad better.
Because the Ubiquio is similar to the Wizard, Can someone please make an updated wizard rom with AKU 3.3 instead of messing around with a AKU 3.2 beta's? Thanks

,,,I would be REALLY Grateful if someone sorted an AKU 3.3 ROM for the Wizard (and then soft of left it......) Stuff all this replying to all the BS messages about unlocking etc just post something we can install and test.....
AKU 3.3 has been available for a few months now so why no ROM? I appreciate all the clever people on here that know what they are doing but my dedication just isn't that much...............
Please release an AKU 3.3 ROM so we can play around with it, we all know this isn't an official update so know the consequences.....

AKU 3.3 is the nice all inclusive package that just didnt work for me..
felt slower then molski's 3.0.0.0 and i couldnt get it to sync. It would start but never end the first sync and never really connect afterwards. Did soft-reset, hardreset and tried AS 4.5... no luck. So starting from scratch with WM6.. bit more work to get all the nice apps in it and tweak it but therefor u get the excitment of something brand new

The 3.3 has been great for me. I can't stop gussin about the gprs settings app. that is a stroke of genius.
I have the chinese ROM but will stick with 3.3 for my 8125. Tonight I will find the english crossbow and try that on my mda.

My charmer has arrived, and im picking it up tomorrow.
I recently had the joy of playing with two different XDA II handsets, one with an AKU 2.0 rom update and the other with an AKU 3.5 update on it. the AKU 3.5 both looked and performed a LOT better.
What i want to do is the following:
Cook and release a streamlined minimalist AKU 3.x (any AKU 3 version rom, be it 3.1,3.3,3.5)
however, my knowledge in this department is a little lacking.
is there ANYBODY in here who runs a charmer and has a little knowledge in cooking roms?
I'm thinking it would be as simple as the following:
1) extract AKU2.0 ROM from Charmer
2) Remove 'OS' part from the rom
3) extract AKU3.5 ROM from prophet (as this is the closest device)
4) insert the OS from the prophet into the charmer rom
5) Patch with drivers for charmer
6) recompile and away you go!
is there ANYBODY here who is willing to help?!

ive been looking at it too. only 2 things ive noticed is a problem with the sound and internet sharing apart from that its seems fine.
well, i'll be happy if you can provide me a copy for testing - i will send you feedback, of course

I have tried a few times with dave's other rom but had no luck as i cant unlock my phone due to, i believe, upgraing using the tmobile original file. before cid unlocking it. As i understand it i now have v2 bootloeaders which cant be cid unlocked.

Well, who needs Aku3 anyway if there's a rom with wm6? ;-)
I wrote a mail to T-Mobile (Germany) and asked them about any planned updates for the Charmer. As soon as I get a response, I'm gonna post it of course.
youser, i wouldnt hold out any hope for a wm6 rom for anything currently out apart from the VERY high end like the universal/hermes
i havent had a response from helmi yet, going to wait out a little while longer.
dave106 appears to have had a 'semi-working' rom on his device albeit minor things not working like camera, but im *hoping* that shouldn't be too difficult to fix.

well i'll be jumping ship soon, replacing the casing and ebaying up my charmer as im moving onto the trinity.

if you could provide me with a *test* rom, that has bugs in it, i could probably work on ironing out the bugs (worth mentioning that i only use my charmer solely as a PDA, not as a phone)

Well, helmi's aku 3.3 rom is available on pdamobiz.com. Speed is excellent, but unfortunately this ROM contains a lot of stuff included :-(
If you can live without some regional settings, which are missing (eg. czech), this ROM might be useful for you.

What is AKU and what is the functionality??
I've seen there's a AKU 3.3 v2 in the forum and what is the difference?
Is It any idea to upgrade to AKU 3 if I'm running WM6 already?

AKU 3.3 is WM 5, so no if you have WM6 AKU3.3 would not be an upgrade for you, though it may work better depending on what you use your device for. I don't think there is even a 1.x AKU for WM6 yet. Most threads tell you what features are new or changed on the first post of the rom thread. It is up to the individual users to place a value on these features and determine what is right for them.
I would suggest you don't worry about AKU just read through the threads and find out which rom offers the best iterations of the features you want/need for your device.
