Look under /Windows/Startup. See if there's a .lnk file from the app and delete it - then reset.
If that's not the case, you could search for remaining files and registry entries and manually remove it, but it might be easier just to reinstall it, reset the phone, make sure the application is off (and not enabled in the Today Screen) and then uninstall it.
Thanks for that. I did manage to remove it.

Hi Mates,
Would somebody like to guide me that how can i remove or change a program name from a " Remove Program" window instead of removing the actuall program.. In that way i think we can hide a program from other onlookers....
Max621
HTC TYTN II
It seems to me that; I asked a very technical question.....
RegEdit
Have a look at the Reg Keys in [HKLM]\Security\AppInstall\
Change the keys in there to change the display name.
If you are skiddish about the registry, you can use SK Tools to remove the name as well. Another easy alternative is to go to \Windows\AppMgr & delete or move the file for the program you want removed from uninstall. Then go to unistall Programs & click uninstall. The device will say that it can't find the uninstall information (which is kept in \Windows\AppMgr) & will then ask you if you want to remove it from the list. Chose yes & it's gone, but the program .exe & other files will remain. You will need to reinstall later if you ever want to remove it.
Thanks Guys for the help and i think playing with the Registry is a lot more fun

I have tried to uninstall an app, but it says that it is only partially removed. The app does then not show up in \windows\appmgr, and [HKLM]\security\appInstall\. But it always shows up at \Setting\uninstall list and cannot be removed even I tried again and again. Any idea what on hell it is? Thanks.
The Quick Menu that is normally located in the top right hand corner of the screen has disappeared on my TyTNII. Tried a soft reset and that didn't help. Don't want to do a hard reset as it takes ages to reload all of the software and data. Does anyone have any ideas. Any suggestion is welcome?

when u click on the screen where should be the icon, does it load the menu?
Try running Quickmenu from the Programs folder. That should fix things.
Make sure that there is a Quickmenu shortcut in your Device>Windows>Startup directory. This will ensure it starts after soft resets.
It's is a good idea to invest in a good backup program like SPB Backup which I use or Sprite Backup. This ensures that you save all your PIM info, messaging, settings, shortcuts etc etc. If and when you do need to perform a hard reset, you just run the executable that the backup program creates, and voila, you're good to go.
I normally backup once every week to ten days.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
MAC
Thanks for the quick response. That may be my problem. It is not in my startup menu, but I also don't have a Quickmenu icon on my program window? Maybe it got deleted? How do I restore it?
When I tap in the top right corner where the icon used to be, nothing comes up. I think I must have deleted the program somehow?

I think you may have deleted it inadvertantly. Just restore it and make sure that there is a shortcut n your startup folder.
Here is the App and the two dll files to drop in your windows directory. It is an executable, no need to install. Just copy the executable anywhere on your device and create shortcut in startup folder.
Thanks - very much appreciated. Loaded and working. Great. Have a nice day!
After upgrading my kaisers os to a new cooked WM6.1 with manilla 2d on it, I no longer had room on my today screen for batterystatus. So, I decided to try out batti since it seems to be so popular as a battery indicator only to find that it puts a nice little battery % indicator right in the same spot as HTC task manager puts the x button. Since I find task manager to be slightly more useful than batti I decided to remove batti. The problem is is that even though batti has been removed and I searched through my registry and removed all leftover registry keys for batti, the % indicator is still there. Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of it?
Personally, I would open up the batti cab file and take a look at exactly what files and registry entries batti creates to make sure they're all gone. One registry entry that I can think to look at is HKLM\Security\ResOver\Bitmap\ and hunt down the dll listed there and see. Also, I'm sure you have soft reset since removing, but I'll throw it out there just in case.

Using "MSCEInf" will help you to find what was installed by the cab.
Thanks for the reply's. I did try opening up the cab and checking what registry entries were made, but didn't find any others other than the ones I had already deleted. Unfortunately I already gave up and just opted for a hard reset.
Hmm, Batti doesn't put such a thing here. Are you sure it's not another program doing it, like quickmenu?

No wonder I couldn't get rid of the thing. I didn't realize quick menu put that there. I wish I had known that before I did a hard reset and had to reinstall everything. Thanks for letting me know though, I won't install quickmenu again.

You can also just disable that features in quickmenu options
hi i have installed a the Colour 3G 10 Button touch home dialer comm manager on my tytn ll but dont want it anymore and now i cant uninstall it, i try to run the installation process again to have the existing installation removed but i always get a message that it cannot be uninstalled, so i have gotten the SKTools program to remove it but still cannot find or remove this thing, can someone tell me where to look or how to get rid of it. thank you.
In SKTools:
- to be safe, start by doing a backup of your device (Sprite Backup or similar)
- select installed programs, then select the app you want to uninstall (and no other, otherwise they will also be uninstalled !)
- it shows all the components installed for that app
- make a screen capture of the installed components and save it for later reference
- select "Action", then "Uninstall marked" (not Uninstall marked standard !)
- if all goes well, it should be uninstalled
- otherwise, manually uninstall the components in your saved screen capture.
hi and thanks. see this is the problem tho, this 'Colour 3G 10 Button touch home dialer comm manager' is not showing up in the installed programs, i actually cant find it anywhere, i mean i know its there somewhere obviously, but i've even unzipped the file on my computer then looked for the files that came out of it manually in the windows folder and a few other places and using the search function of the fone and on SKTools and still can't find it haha. bugging me man. actually the search function doesnt bring up anything, i type in the exact file name of a few of the unzipped files and get no results. and now actually my original dial pad on the phone has been messed up too.so if anyone knows where i can find the windows mobile 6.1 phone dialpad i'd appreciate that too. does it even come separate?
First, did you soft reset after your uninstall? It often helps.
Also, being careful and using a registry editor, did you check if there are any unwanted remnants of the old dialer in the registry?
hi, thanks. no i didnt do a soft reset, i dont even know what that is actually. and i can't uninstall the app thats my problem. how would i know what files to look for in the registry?
thank u.

1) search for soft reset on this forum
2) under HKLM/software and HKCU/software, look for the name of the editor/developper or the name of the app
Again, be careful
Have you made sure commanager is not running before uninstall?
A way to make sure is to soft-reset "turn device off then on "
