From this 2 ROM's what's the best WM5 Rom? Is there a better/stable WM5 ROM?
I tested both and the more stable on my BA (sx66) is the xplode's kitchen v2.
They are almost the same but with xplodre's you can customize it, like in my case I don't use/like msn, so I have the option to not include it in my rom.
Try them both!
This question gets asked so many times, we need to make one of these posts a sticky! (And one about What is better about WM5!!)
We dont need any more sticky posts - I prefer just one sticky post - RTFW (read the ****ing wiki and FY (find yourself)
also i want to answer the question, we are far from stable WM5 on BA, but maybe soon we will have better roms.Current roms are usable, but still have bugs.
Xplode AKU 3.5.2 R5 is great
I use Baniaczek's one - after trying Xplode's, returned to this one, which suits me better.
I wish the topic would read: Whats the best WM 6.0 rom.

I'm on baniaczek, works fine.
I Love Xplode AKU 3.5.2 R5,it beautiful.
I like the customisability of the Xplode's ROM. However the baniaczek's one seems more stable in long term for me.

u can try helmi_c aku3.2 which is the latest rls, very fast and stable. it's a very nice ROM. there is some issue with BlueTooth, but the rest is all good.

You can upgrade to the latest version of wm2003se (see the wiki) and than consider if u wanna upgrade to wm2005.
i'd say enjoy your unit using wm2003se for a while.
and when the time comes that you are looking for some more, then go for wm5... and the latest radio version.... it would seem like you have a new phone altogether.
I would take a call depending on the way you use your phone. How much of bluetooth you use, how much of wifi, do you use a stereo headset, do you use a GPS attachment, what kind of applications you run etc. Please note that if you go through the the complete threads of a particular post helmi 1.3 or 1.2 or 1.1 you will come to know the advantages and drawbacks of upgrading and can then take a wise call.

Dear Sir,
I'm running Ivan V4R3, may i know which is faster if compare with helmi_c aku3.2. And as my know helmi is pre-install some program, can u specfily. Thanks!
Ivans rom with ramdisk is very stable and fast wm5 version, and i lie it a lot, but AKU updates fixes many bugs in the OS and Security of the mobile device, so i prefer latest AKU 2.3, 3.0 3.2 roms.
The best way to get your rom to fit your needs is to build a custom one with Bepe's ktchen

First i want to welcome you to the forums, you will learn a lot here as i did!
First step that you have take is to read WIKI, a lot of stuff is explained there. For you there are 2 possible types of roms, WM2003SE or WM5. By mine personal opinion the best roms by now are Ivans v4 r3 with ramdisk, and Helmi's 1.3 AKU 3.2 roms. You can try and decide for yourself.

There's an official aku3.3 rom out there now. I can't wait to see what all of the talented rom cookers out there can do with it on the wizard side of things
i think heralds rom is better (easier) to build a rom for wizard. a hardware is similiar to wizards config.

Can you give me more pointers to threads discussing this patch? I've tested it on my Dell Axim x51v and found it as bad as the old, 2.3 AKU. Not a tad better.
Because the Ubiquio is similar to the Wizard, Can someone please make an updated wizard rom with AKU 3.3 instead of messing around with a AKU 3.2 beta's? Thanks

,,,I would be REALLY Grateful if someone sorted an AKU 3.3 ROM for the Wizard (and then soft of left it......) Stuff all this replying to all the BS messages about unlocking etc just post something we can install and test.....
AKU 3.3 has been available for a few months now so why no ROM? I appreciate all the clever people on here that know what they are doing but my dedication just isn't that much...............
Please release an AKU 3.3 ROM so we can play around with it, we all know this isn't an official update so know the consequences.....

If you check the hermes forum you will see that they already have a wm6 rom available, and promises of other wm6 roms in the future. Can our trinity chefs use this rom as a base to cook up a trinity wm6 rom?

I tried WM6 on my Wizard and it is really pretty cool. Still one feature is missing: Tabbed browsing with the built in internet explorer. The browsing is still old school.

I've seen there's a AKU 3.3 v2 in the forum and what is the difference?

AKU 3.3 is WM 5, so no if you have WM6 AKU3.3 would not be an upgrade for you, though it may work better depending on what you use your device for. I don't think there is even a 1.x AKU for WM6 yet. Most threads tell you what features are new or changed on the first post of the rom thread. It is up to the individual users to place a value on these features and determine what is right for them.
I would suggest you don't worry about AKU just read through the threads and find out which rom offers the best iterations of the features you want/need for your device.
Searching everywhere i could not find a single thread dedicated for
blackstone windows mobile 6.1 ROMS
in different threads around i found out that a lot of people still prefer 6.1 versions of blackstone roms for its speed and reliability and I did try several ROMs for different cookers using 6.5 and 6.1 and i have to admit that microsoft windows mobile 6.5 is a great disappointment for a lot of people including myself ... its not the cookers its that windows mobile OS 6.5 sucks ...
therefore i have decided to create this thread to be the place to find the latest 6.1 ROM for our beloved blackstone and i hope we can find new ones here ... cookers stopped developing 6.1 for months now they say it is becoming something of the past and 6.5 is getting more and more builds everyday and trying each one requires flashing several times and it takes time so there is no more time for cooking 6.1 ROMs 6.1 that our blackstone was designed for ! and runs it so smoothly and faster than any ROM around ... looking at the benchmark you will find the first 20 to 25 fastest ROMs are running 6.1 !!
the latest 6.1 ROM i found is Topix 3.1.2 Oct.28.2009 not even in a thread of its own to separate it from 6.5 discussions it is a perfect ROM but I would love to run a 6.1 from NRG or Miri created in 2010 !

I did but i prefer Topix ... it is more stable and facebook doesnt crash manila at all and you do not need to edit registries for it to work
how about Laurentius ROM 3.55? even it's old but seems very promising

yes i know they are on the wiki but this list of 6.1 roms is much smaller than it should be and the latest of them is old what i am asking for is new 6.1 roms to be added to the list

I got lost with all this 6.5 and Sense stuff, was going to sell the HD is was so slow and annoying, flashed to Topix 6.1 and WOW, I had forgotten how fast the HD was...

topix wm6.1 is the way to go.

can someone posts an (active) link for a 6.1 ROM without Manila? the only i know is the Superlite by Onkolog but the link is dead...and i don't want thousand useless Manila files(over 40mb) on my HD, better MS3 for me...thanks

thanks, but Black Pearl ROM is based on 1.57.831.1 Build 20776, the latest WM6.1 ROM for Blacksone are 1.59 Build 21051...should be better, maybe

Really a question for the Chefs.
Guys,
There maybe a few issues with this.
I'm not 100% sure but I don't think MS has released any updated builds of v6.1 (Could be wrong) that our beloved chefs could get their hands on.
Not that I have any cooking skills but I would think that all our chefs have modded their kitchens to deal with v6.5.xx and may not be willing to take, what they may see, as a step back.
This of course is just my humble opinion but I guess the most likely thing to do would be to ask the chefs themselves.

I'm totally with you on that. I never use Manila when MS3 is so nice.
I do appreciate that cookers want to try and fit in the latest and greatest, but it seems to me the latest and greatest is just going to get slower and slower. The HD is great and all, but speedwise it's not much better than the ancient Blue Angel. Heh, thinking that makes me want to see if I still have an old BA lying around and see how IT handles 6.5!
In any case it seems fairly evident that 6.5 has some speed issues compared to 6.1. Now I have no idea personally why that is, whether it's just Manila or the OS itself. Regardless it'd be nice if 6.1 wasn't forgotten all together.

the latest build is 21055 as shown in the screen shot from topix rom 3.1.2 but this Rom has manila 2.1 ... it works fast as nothing else and the manila version without weather animation is very decent but you are asking for a rom without manila
this is one of the reasons I wanted this thread ! we do not even have a clean version of our favorite os with the latest build only manila versions
More 6.1 roms, 6.5 (sense) roms are not made for Blackstone!
ok, sense is looking cool, but why cant some one make 6.1 rom with colors at the tab. and just make it for speed and everyday use. no fancy stuff! FAST FAST FAST!
roms with 6.5 have 50% rom use. 6.1 roms have 32% rom use.. big differens i think..
