Hi,
got the abovementioned smartphone. I want to keep my UMTS working and so i decided to use a "analog" dual SIM adapter.
Problem is: switching from one SIM to the other does not work. Works fine in any other phone (SE T610 and so on) except to my smartphone. Tried with flightmode off/on and radio off/on. Tried by changing Network from Auto to GSM or UMTS and back. Unsuccessful. Tried by using toosten SIMname (unable to install) and SIM Status Switcher (doesn't work properly because is designed for WM2003). Unsuccessful. Tried by switching off smartphone completely. Unsuccessful. Tries by taking away accu. Unsuccessful.
Any other idea in this community ?
Thanks in advance

Hello,
i got a Big problem, since i updated my trinity to 20070327_WM5_AKU3.3.1_LVSW_v1.24_WWE, my phone provider is E-plus ( Germany) and i got two sim cards, one delivered with the trinity (umts) and another gsm card. But with both i can´t get a connection to my Phone provider.
I also tried to install a rom, which has worked in the past DOPODASIA_WWE_1.23.707.6_6275_1.35.00.11_108_Ship and
HTC_WWE_1.23.405.2_103_6275_1.38.00.11_108_GPS but no success.
Only with the original rom, it will find a signal, but only for few seconds and then it disapears again, or it keeps changing from G to 3G and back, when the UMTS card is inserted.
But the connection isn´t stable.
In the meantime i tried all roms which i got, but none of the are stable.
By the way, the GSM card works fine in my other mobile Phone.
So it´s defently no problem by my provider.
Try manually disabling the 3g and using only GSM.
Thanks, it seems that this solved my problem.
But i´m wondering, it worked before with UMTS, that means that i got
3G on Top, in the past and didn´t experienced any problems.
But now not even with the original Rom without GPS, i can get a connection using 3G.
But nevertheless with GSM it works fine, i appreciate!
Try getting a 3g connection on an another phone and with the same provider because it may be a network/provider issue and nothing to do with your phone.
my other phone is a sony-ericsson k750i, so it´s not UMTS capable.
But i can try to switch back to umts later, to see if this is a provider problem.
thanks and regards
Hi guys,
I got a voice plan on one sim and pure 3g HSDPA Data on the other sim and was thinking of getting it to work together on my Diamond.
The Sim Adapter I am looking at is found here
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250262371185
by the name of MagicSim
Well I was wondering if there are any tested and confirmed dual sim solutions that work on the Diamond, that allows switching between:
3G DATA GPRS via HSDPA
3G Voice Calls
Reason I asked is because I read that some adapters/holders do not work with 3G and this one supposedly "supports" 3G.
"Supports" is rather vauge because I can pop in a 3G sim under GSM mode and it is still supported.
Thanks!
Gerald
Anyone?
I would assume you would need a special soft to switch between the sims, and even more if you want to have different settings. In the best case you're looking at 3rd party apps. Unfortunately, I never had the need for double SIM, so I can't help with a specific suggestion.
Kinda dug out this last night but just wanted to confirm 3G GPRS works before buying the adapter

Hi there, I've got the same problem as you haha. Anyone can confirm this?
I'm very sure it'll work.. these DualSim connectors just switches the circuit to the active SIM card... doesn't really modify anything..
Well on the older versions in the past year didn't work with 3G so I just wanted to be sure in case I lose money on this
How are you ordering it btw?

Not necesarily! Most of them also have a sim toolkit menu to switch the sims. That means they intercept the data from the sim to the phone and simulate that menu. If you can't turn this off, and the dual sim itself can't understand 3G commands, it wont work.
You should ask the seller if it works with USIMS.
http://cgi.ebay.de/CUTTER-for-Dual-...idZp1742.m153.l1262QQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
"Works on , both 2G and 3G (USIM)"
Switching through stk so it should be supported by the today plugin
I have the same problem. With my Trinity and my Orbirt I the same adapter works fine, but not with the Diamond.
they are selling a analog one here:

if anyone could test it... i'm still waiting for my diamond...

That´s my...no way!
I have an XDA Orbit 2 with that exact type of dualSIM and can categorically tell you that it works fine with 3G.
My personal SIM is O2 (3G) and work is Orange (GSM). To switch between the two, all you need to do is switch flight mode on, then flight mode off. It takes maybe 10s to change between the two networks.
Oh yeah I've had G,E,3G and H symbols on O2 so I take that to mean I have the ability to connect to all the data speeds.
Yes, it works fine with my Orbit 1, with my Orbit II and with my Trinity, but not with the Diamond!
Hi volks
I have unlocked my t-mobile mda Vario 3 (aka kaiser) and everything working fine, it work with all sims(f.e. A1, telering, ...) but not with "Hutchinson 3 Austria" it is an umts network and the kaiser should work whit it!
when i put in the 3 sim i can enter pin, device searching for network, but the kaiser will not connect to network, always searching for network. i live in Vienna, a big city, there should be enough signal strength *gg*
i also tried another 3 sim but will not work tried to change band settings and network settings but will not work. i also brought the kaiser to t-mobile and they send it to service, the service says that the device works fine and is unlocked
so anybody an idea?
i also have the same problem with my o2 sim card. it acquires a connection briefly then cuts out again and just keeps searching for a network
it happened to me too, i resolved the situation by inserting a piece of paper on the top of simcard, to make pressure because with time kaiser loses pressure needed to read the card...
My i9000m on the Bell mobility network is not picking up data after an overnight charge with the phone turned on. Today - nothing. I do have phone use and I can access data on WiFi.
I am running stock ROM. I unlocked the phone using a Rogers SIM card, about a week ago, but went back to the Bell network immediately after with no problem. After unlocking I got the Kies to work and updated to UGJH2. Since then, the network access has been spotty but I've switching to WiFi then switching back and it's coming back. I purchased this phone with a different Bell SIM2 then put my old Bell SIM1 (from an Omnia2) in this device.
*#7465625# shows Personalizatiob Status
network lock [OFF]; Network sublock[OFF]; SP lock [OFF]; CP lock [OFF]
What I've tried
1) Switching to WiFi and back - no data
2) Putting SIM1 back into the Omnia 2 - O2 booted up and accessed the Bell network including data. CONCLUSION - The problem is not the SIM card.
3) Putting the SIM2 into the i9000m - no network access at all; not even phone. This SIM2 is working in the O2 and originally worked in the i9000m. Much to my surprise when I put SIM1 back in the SGS it still picks up the Bell network.
4) Squeezed the SIM holder blew out with compressed air in case it's just a physical problem with the SIM being held tight enough - SIM1 still not picking up data.
So it would seem that there is a problem with my SGS reading SIMs other than the one in use when whatever happened happened. Any suggestions on how to get other SIMs, even from the same network, to work? If I have to submit my phone to Bell I need to re-lock it. How do I do that?
Thanks for the help.
--- update---
relocked the phone using *7465625*638*# then 302610 and my unlock code. Power off / on still no data access. Now *#7465625# shows Personalizatiob Status - network lock [ON]; Network sublock[OFF]; SP lock [OFF]; CP lock [OFF]
first try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789039&highlight=*#0011#
does it show which band it is using for data?
you can also try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8124344&postcount=45
install the APN on off
then flip it on / off and back to on
see if that helps
Thanks for the response.
I did the #*0011* It's flipping between the 850 on 5 and 1900 on 2 The DL and UL numbers are slightly different. I did have to reconnect to the APN.
How would this affect installing *other* Bell SIMS? That's what worries me the most - that it wouldn't read another Bell SIM that works in another phone.
the only time i see this happen is if you swap the SIM card when the phone is ON
if you turn off the phone, change between SIM1 and SIM2, then turn it back on, you should not see that problem
I know because i was playing around with multiple SIMs when we were researching the Unlock methods for this phone
I take out the battery before I change the SIM. I have to for the Omnia 2 so I just got in the habit. This is sounding worse and worse
although I was rushing off to work so maybe I didn't - hope springs eternal.
----resolution ---
sometimes you just have to call Bell, wade thru the 1st level support and get to someone who knows what's up. Apparently my phone plan changed today (I didn't know it was post dated) and the data feature was not provisioned even though it's a plan that includes data. The guy invoked the feature and poof - data. yay. AllGamer, thanks for your help.
you'r welcome
I did have the same problem, using 2 numbers from 2 telcos, both sims work fine on my iphone but I9000 fail to recognize 1 of these 2, no matter how I tried, I actually did all crazy things like insert couple paper layers between the sim and the sim slot to create additional pressure on the sim contact circuit.
Suck thing about this is non-recognizable sim has data plan with it, which I want to use on I900, finally I asked the carrier to issue a new sim and all thing work fine. It's a new sim type anyway. You may want to try this if all other means doesn't work.
The fix is easy I use to have a moto milestone and when this happened a simple reboot fixed the data connection.

Hi
I am in Kolkata India and recently switched from a 2G to a 3G plan with Vodafone Kolkata. Ever since then, my problem is that I am unable to connect to 3G using WCDMA. Neither voice nor data works. If I revert to GSM only, then voice and 2G works fine. Wifi has been fine and my saviour at home.
Phone details: Sony Xperia SP C5302 running Android 4.3 build 12.1.A.1.205.
I have confirmed with network service that it is not a SIM card issue, by carrying out the foll. tests already
1- Signal strength in the area of use : At the time when I am unable to connect to 3G, my colleague sitting in the next desk and using a Motorola phone is consistently able to connect to the same 3G network from his phone. So the network strength must be fine.
2- SIM damaged or dirty - I have obtained a new SIM card as replacement, after this problem started, from my service provider yesterday. But the problem is not resolved.
3- Manual network search and connection - I have tried this many times, using WCDMA only or WCDMA(Preferred) options. In either case, only on rare occasions, the phone was able to connect to a network. However, 3G data connection (H+ icon) did not show and then the phone disconnects from network. On most occasions, when I manually attempt to connect to the 3G network, I get the message "Could not register to the selected network. Make sure SIM is inserted."
3- Trying different SIM/Handset - I have tried out both options of switching SIM and handset.
- My SIM on Motorola handset - connects to H+
- Another SIM on my Sony - momentarily connects, then disconnects and then does not connect to network.
Please let me know if anyone has faced similar issues and found any resolution. Thank you in advance.

I think that there's an option to use 2G instead of 3G in the settings menu, have you checked to see if that is enabled?

That is the WCDMA option I've mentioned about, there was no other setting for this.
Anyways, it turned out to be a hardware problem. Got the "mother-board" replaced for free as it was under warranty & now working fine!
