Upgrading to Windows Mobile 6

I've currently got WM5 and want to upgrade to WM6.
I've read the ROM upgrade threads and have the latest versions already in my K-JAM.
Is it as simple now as installing WM6 or is there anything additional to do?

Thanks for the reply. Reading the Wiki I've found out that its a G3. The rest of the versions follow according to the startup screen. Apologies, I should have posted these originally (I intended to but got distracted).
IPC 2.16
SPC 2.16
GSM 2.07.10
OS 2.16.9.1
I'm unsure about the CID.

what's the difference between a "normal" G4 Rom and a safe G4 rom

I have a small question:
what's the difference between a "normal" G4 Rom and a safe G4 rom and were can i find a SAFE G4 Rom for flashing?

a safe rom flashes only the OS (not 100% true, but sufficient info ) thus being safe for locked G4's (since a G4 wizard cannot be cid unlocked atm.. at least not for free)
neverevereverever try to flash your CID locked G4 with a ROM that has IPL and/or SPL or you will brick your Wizard. (brick = pretty much useless piece of junk)

Try to read more the other threads in particular the stickies and the thread of the respective ROMs - there is precise information from the chefs whats in and whats not in there ROMs...
so again ,the best advice is to read and understand before download and upgrade your Wizard ...

...or you can use latest version of WST that reads the nk.nbf file (the upgrade file) and lets you know what's inside

who can help me with upgrading the qtek 9100 to wm6?

i have tried 2 times to upgrade my qtek 9100 to wm6 but no succes.
2 times i had a screen with 3 collers and the text:
IPL 1.03
SPL 1.03.0000
and the wm6 upgrade what i am us (toch no evil wm6) said that i must get newer update utilities.
and then i had the 3 collers screen again. (now i have wm5 again)
i don't no it anymore how to upgrade and if i'm looking on this forum i see alot of text and requirements, so i don't no it anymore.
wich ppc expert can give me a good link or suggestion to help me upgrading to wm6 on my qtek 9100?

Read the sticky on upgrading G3/G4 wizards. I am unfamilliar with that IPL/SPL and wonder if perhaps your phone is not yet unlocked. You won't be able to flash a custom rom until you have CID/SIM unlocked your phone, and G3 phones are easier to work with than G4's. The sticky explains all. Read and re-read it. Then if you still need help, report back with info on what you have tried, etc.
I know this seems like a sh*tty answer, but in all honesty, the stickies pretty much explain all, and a little reading will help you to better understand what you are working with and how things are done.

**HTC p4350 (hera100) ipl 1.08.0001 need advice**

i need to change language of this phone to french but i can t neither find a french rom for it or even a way to flash phone with ipl 1.08.0001 !!! all i see don t do this if you ipl is 4.xxx or higher ! but what to do in case my ipl is lower then 4.xxx !!!?? i ve already used search button but nothing clear !! can anyone enlight me ?

The only thing I can suggest is that you find a legitimate ROM upgrade for your phone from HTC that updates you IPL, first. Then, hopefully, you'll have a 4.0.0.0+ IPL. I personally have not tried this or know much about your IPL/SPL since all Wings come with 4.x.x.x. But research a little into that and see if anyone else has ever tried it.

Search. Whenever someone asks a "knowledgeable" expert on here, all that "expert" does is search. First find out what phone type you have. Is it a WWE? (World Wide English) etc by looking in your settings, system and device information. Then, search for Herald RUU WWE or whatever it is.

Upgrade HardSPL

Hello,
I´d like to know if there are differences between different HardSPL versions.
My bootloader shows:
KAIS130
SPL-3.29.Hard
CPLD-8
What´s the meaning of Kais130 and CPLD-8 ?
Should I upgrade to the newest HardSPL, if yes than which one ?
There are some from jockyw2001 , cmonex and one from DaveShaw .

You know that if you hop over to the ROM section there is a sticky that will answer your question & more also XDA has a wiki with valuable info

After I read the FAQ again I found some answers but I still don´t know whats the difference between the 3 versions.
