My MDA III does not keep the backlight -tab battery power- ('turn off backlight if device is not used for') setting, after a short time it switches automatically back to 10 seconds. I found the value in the registry too and changed it but same result. Does somebody have a solution for my problem? Thanks in advance! (ROM version 5.04.10.WWE)

I sometimes have the same problem. if you do a button reset (power button and reset hole) it corrects the problem for a while.

Problem: If I manual turn off the TYTN II I only can turn him on with the reset button. The same happens with or without the option of automatically turning off the device after x minutes.
Maybe I oversaw a setting, or it is a software / hardware bug ?
Solutions are very welcome due this really annoying issue.
Thanks in advance.
Problem still occuring.
Any ideas?
hard reset?
A hard reset did not work.
After reinstallind the whole software the problem occured again.
Anyone else having any ideas?
I don't think I am the only one who have this issue.
You say manual "turn off". Do you mean actual turn off or simply into standby?
It occurs If I push the right button and if the automated standby comes up after x minutes.
Ok. So you aren't actually turning it off. You are putting it into standby and then it won't come back from standby when you push the power button again?
1) Put it into standby
2) After ten seconds, push the power buttom once quickly
3) WAIT. Some devices are slow to wake if there is lots going on in the background and you have loads of today plug ins etc
If that doesn't work, then uninstall any software you have added.
Thanks for the hints.
I'll try and give some feedback.
Feedback: Looks the Compact Framework 3.5 is not working properly. It eats up the whole battery power within a few hours.
Look the 'sleep of death' thread...
Try to change the USB to PC connexion...
How do I exactly change the USB to PC connection ?
Any thread link to "sleep of death" ?
Thanks in advance.
My Stellar (Kaiser) powers off after about 10 seconds whilst on a call. The backlight setting is for 2 mins. I can't find a setting for it anywhere.
Any ideas ?
TIA, Davebo.
There is a setting in KaiserTweak (do a quick search, if you donĀ“t have it already) that prolongs the backlight period - although not indefinitely.......

SEARCH is your buddy! Search for KaiserTweak. You have to disable Sleep and FastSleep options.
or move the jogwheel to wake-up the device
Ah ha!
Thanks very much. I think a combination of both approaches should cover all my bases.
Thanks again, DBo.
My screen will be darker after 10 sec.
I can set this again to 5 min. and after a few on and offs it will be back at 10 sec.
This is very annoying!
I thought i had found the problem, but it wasn't.
HKCU/ControlPanel/Backlight/BatteryTimeout setting up to 300. This is 5 minutes. It counts in seconds. But this isn't working.
Please can anyone help me?? A lot more have this problem.
I have the same problem, anyone the solution?

yes, my backlight stay's also on for 1 minute(my setting)...hope the sound problem is also gone..
It is a bug in keypad locking
I think the backlight problem only occurs if you are using the keylock feature by pressing the end call button for a couple of seconds.
You can try it out yourself:
1) set your backlight settings to whatever you want and verify it works as intended.
2) Now just normally switch of your phone (not locking the keypad) by pressing the power button, switch back on and verify that the setting is still correct.
3) Then do a soft reset and again verify that the setting is correct.
4) Now lock the keypad by using the end call button (press a couple of seconds until locked).
5) Now unlock the phone and check the backlight settings: they are put back on the default values!! I guess it is a bug in the keypad lock functionality.
Btw, step 2) and 3) are just for verification, you may skip these to reproduce the bug.
Actually, if you use the lock feature of the device (for instance by enabling AutoDeviceLock in the registry, see tweak 18 in the stickied Diamond tweaks thread) the settings are also reset to the default values.
Is this the case for everybody? Or is it just me that it seems the locking feature contains bugs.
FYI...I had this issue from the start when I was running the Asia HK 1.34 ROM image. I flashed it using HardSPL and put the Europe 1.35 image on the device and have not had the problem since. All backlight values work normally as of now....I recommend this if your device is the HK ROM and you're having the issue. Not sure if it'll work for you, but it worked for me....
The solution is simply
You have to change DWORD LockLevel present in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\LockLevel\ to 0 (zero)
And now your time of standby don't change anymore
Hi All,
I have read a lot about the backlight issue and tried all the fixes, such as settings in the system area (both backlight and power), installed and re-installed the backlight fix and still - the backlight resets itself to 10 seconds on battery power.
I have the default ROM with the registry tweaks installed.
Any other ideas that might help?
Thanks
I need my backlight to stay on for 2 min. I set the option in settings, battery. However the phone will continually default to 10 sec. I change back to 2 min. the phone sets it back to 10 sec. Endless cycle! HIGHLY ANNOYING!
I had the same issue on my Tilt. There were workarounds. I've been searching but cannot find a fix for the Pure.
Anybody help out?
Which ROM?
Same problem on my diamond2. Latest official rom 2.53.405.5 (76952) WWE .
I try to change the default 10sec to 30 sec, but my diamond2 sets it back to 10sec.
Same problem here on Touch Diamond2.
After a soft reset, the backlight timeout is set back to 10 sec. The timeout setting is "forgotten" every time the phone is restarted.
I'm running the official ROM 2.16.479.1 WWE. Has anyone found a way to fix this?
