Vodafone Live (UK) Settings? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I'm trying to get to the Vodafone Live! site so that I can access the "My Account" and "MobileTV" features.
Now I've read up on quite a few links and it appears that Vodafone prevent non-authorised phones to access the site (using the supplied settings I can access all other websites just fine). I have tried quite a few of the suggested registry and connection tweaks to try and fool the Vodafone Live! site into working on Windows Mobile phones:
http://www.clieuk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=8928
http://www.talk3g.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2406
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=245398
However the furthest I got it to go was to display the Vodafone Live! site as text only. I've since fiddled some more and now it won't work at all and I cannot remember which settings got the text-only site to load.
I also came across this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320523&highlight=vodafone+live
But even those registry tweaks didn't work (I hard-reset my TyTn II to restore all the defaults before attempting the above)
Can someone please tell me if they've managed to get the Vodafone Live! site (live.vodafone.co.uk) to work on their TyTn II ? and if so, exactly which instructions they followed as far as connection setup and User Agent registry tweaks.
Thanks in advance!

UK o2 Active settings after upgrade

Anyone know the o2 active GPRS manual settings for the BA? I have just performed an upgrade with the o2 Asia rom and obviously now dont have the UK Auto configurator!
Well... whilst I started typing this I FINALLY got through to the o2 Data Support group (0800005005), who gave me the following settings which got me up and running!....
MY ISP
<Add a new modem connection>
Connection name:My Connection
Modem:Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access point name:mobile.o2.co.uk
User name2web
Passwordassword
<Advanced=>Servers>
DNS:193.113.200.200
ALTDNS:193.113.200.201
MY WORK NETWORK
<Add a new modem connection>
Connection name:My Connection 1
Modem:Cellular Line (GPRS)
Access point name:wap.o2.co.uk
User name2wap
Passwordassword
<Set up my proxy server=>Advanced>
WAP: 193.113.200.195:8080
I dont know if this is obvious information, but I couldnt find it anywhere... so I hope it helps someone!
On a side note, whilst upgrading the ROM to a non UK variant, is there some way of avoiding these sorts of troubles?
Cheers,
Jon.
Yes mate, simply use this cab file to install the settings into the phone, therfore not having the trouble of having to type them allin manually!
Any chance of expaning further, how do I replace / install this cab!
Cheers,
Jon.
Never mind, i see this is just a standard cab... thought it was part of the extended rom files or sumthin!
Thanks for that!
Jon.
Could a mod rename this thread please?
I nearly missed it, thought it was to do with the evil useless O2 Active software, not the useful settings for gprs!
cheers mate - just what I needed after my upgarde to the i-mate ROM
O2 XDA IIs UK upgrade using ASIA ROM, will it be a problem?
Hi!
I will be using my XDA IIs O2 UK in the Philippines(ASIA), but I got it from UK. Will there be problems if I will load my UK phone with the ASIA ROM.
Thanks
Hope this is what I need .
Running XDA2i in corporate install, will this CAB put all the required info in the settings to allow GPRS, e-mail wap etc?

Local Operator Settings

Hi,
I have just purchased the TYTN II, unlocked, and upon switching it on I am being asked to set the HSDPA Settings and other Mobile operator related Settings. I had an HP ipaq 6915 and these settings were automatically detected, apart from HSDPA. Is there a way I can update the country list on the Kaiser with preset settings?
Thanks is advance.
P.S country of Use is Malta, Europe.

Dont know if there are settings for Malta but connectionsetup.cab (dont know the exact name) is the app that is configurating these settings. U can search for it here http://www.4shared.com/dir/5551593/20b4549a/sharing.html

I have one advise: if you find a rom where the connectionsetup has your settings, you need to backup privision.zip from windows folder, and when u flash the rom u want and the connectionsetup dont have your settings just copy the file to windows, softreset and it should work. The only problem is, u need to find a rom with your settings.(I checked mine, I too dont have settings for Malta)
There is also a second option maybe your operator can send you these settings via sms.

searching for provider settings cab ger. vodafone mms&live

hi, i am bored about the many required settings to use
german vodafone live & mms.(spezialy after crosstesting different firmware packages, and everytime losting the settings.)
in the past i got cab files, they automaticly configured the internet & mms for my provider.
is the a cab file available for htc diamond?
THX, dirk
I too looking for the operator cab for my currently location Hong Kong, Operator One2Free. Would appreciate it to get some help, coz I already went to the Operator dealer shop to copy all the wap/MMS/internet setting with all the proxys, but can't get it to work completely.
With all the settings done, I can retrieve email & surf the internet with my data plan, but can't access the wap site of my operator. Strange...
& the salesman has no knowledge of this at all, OMG...
I also tried Tech support but couldn't help, saying the phone is too new, they don't have the latest settings available yet for manual input of proxys.

S730 (Wings) with Vodafone/SFR configuration

Hi Guys,
I having trouble with the setup of SFR Illimytics with my HTC s730.
In fact, I succeed to setup my GPRS connexion (Wap SFR) but when I open the Vodafone Live main page (live.vodafone.fr) to watch TV, I got a text page, without any access to TV or music.
So I looked up in XDA forum and Modaco to find a solution.
I found many things about the TytnII or other PocketPC's devices, but nothing for my smartphone.
Anyway, I decided to try diffrents solution designed for PocketPC platform but they didn't work properly (SFRinternetV2.cab, TV-musiqueSFR.cab, VodafoneLive-PROD-v1.4.ARM.cab, HTC_P3600-S300__Config_WAP_Tv_3G-3G___SFR.cab, etc...)
The result is I have now access to Vodafone Live! with text and images, but my IE is having a strange behaviour : I lost the 2 menus at the bottom of the screen ("Favorites" and "Menu"). So I cannot use it anymore
My idea is there is an issue with the file "browser.dll" in these CABs which was designed for PocketPC platform, not Smartphone.
Does anyone succeed to setup his s730/Wings with SFR Illimytics (or any other WM smartphone) ?
Thanks
Murray Bozinski
Ok Guys,
After several tests, hard reset, tests, etc... I finally find a solution !
Only one solution is working for smartphone : TV_SFR_Beta1.cab
(Google will help you to find it)
I now have a full access to Vodafone Live Portail, with TV working properly.
I still cannot access to free music and "Live Messenger by SFR" but I don't care these features
So, dear Smartphone's users, if you want to access to the TV with French SFR/Vodafone, use this Cab !

O2 UK contract settings - PDA Homepage

Hi chaps,
Wondering if someone can help me out with the following issue -
When I flash a new ROM to my device I am never able to use O2's homepage for looking up train times (something I use regularly) as it gives me a message stating it was unable to recognise my number.
Obviously this doesn't happen on a stock ROM.
Can anyone shed any light on where this setting is located, or what I need to do to access this feature on O2's site.
This is a small issue in the grand scheme of things but something I am flummoxed by!
I can find nowhere to enter my 'number' which will allow O2's homepage to identify me as a contract customer.
For info, I am using a Sony Xperia newly flashed to Jack's 2.9 WWE ROM.
Many Thanks!
(I did search but I couldn't locate anything on the above, though I will admit I may not have searched under all the correct terminology, apologies if I have missed something glaringly obvious!)

It's possibly the user agent, rather than the phone number. What browser are you using?
The Opera browser. But it doesn't seem limited to the Xperia, it seems to happen when ever I use a custom ROM. (Previously on a Stellar and before that, an Orbit). Perhaps I need to get a copy of the 'auto customiser' that O2 installs on any WM device they sell.
Any thoughts?

might help.
still a good chance it's just the custom user agent in the browser though.
Ive no idea what's included in the O2 roms. will have a quick look now as long as RS isn't playing up
BrB
Upon further reading it seems the auto O2 Customisation is done by an XML script, perhaps if this can be extracted (or found) I can locate the correct details?
try this first
O2/1.0/SonyEricssonX1i/R1AA Opera/9.5 (Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/2141; U; UK) UP.Link/6.3.1.20.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
go into opera:config enter custom and a space in the quick search paste it in the relevant bit and save.
there's quite a lot of RGU and provxml in any rom.. in the R1 O2 there's also a load of cab files relating to connections.. Dumping it all in a folder.
There's also custinfo.txt in /windows drop the following into windows. (use a decent file manager not the built in one).
Many thanks for this! I shall have a go at this in a bit, I just reflashed my device again.
Once again, this is much appreciated my friend!

Is it possible to run the O2 customisations in o2stuff.zip on the R2 firmware? I'm getting impatient waiting for O2 to release an updated firmware
I don't mind the majority of customisations they make (apart from removing google maps and panel ) and I really just want to make sure the correct phone settings are in place.
I was wondering if I flashed to generic uk, dump the contents of o2stuff.zip in windows folder and execute O2_Operator_Settings.exe, would I in effect have an O2 customised R2 firmware?

mostly yes. there's some things I didnt include but it should be close.
Don't get me started on waiting for O2 to release new firmware updates.
The apocolypse will arrive before they actually release one at the same time as everywhere else. This is one of the main reasons I started flashing my devices (much love to this forum which has been my main source of information).
Plus the previous radio for my X1 had rubbish signal reception in my area and I was not prepared to wait for O2 to pull their finger out.
