Caller ID problem with the custom 2.26 ROM - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

After upgrade to the custom ROM (IPL2.26 SPL2.26 GSM02.25.11 OS2.26.10.2) my T-Mobile MDA/Q-Tek 9100/Wizard does not respond to a change in Phone menu.
Menu>Options>Services>CallerID (Everyone-No one). Radio button is checked in "No one" but the phone keep sending ID.
After my call to T-Mobile customer service they set it permanently to "Do not send" but the phone sends the ID nevertheless.
The choice "Everyone" is not available at all. When checked, the change does not stay after button OK is hit...
I have already tried to change the registry: HKCU>ControlPanel>Phone>SendCallID. There I have tried DWORD Value from 0 to 3. Did not help at all.
It is not such a big problem, but I do not want my phone to be somewhat limited.
Does anybody know a solution? I will appreciate any help...

MDA Vario, not connecting to GSM network after ROM update

Hi,
I've recently updated my MDA Vario to the new dtuch QTek rom (2.18 I believe). Everything went smoothly and my phone now has a much higher standby time. However, in the settings menu for my GSM network it says 'no service' where it should say 'T-Mobile. I tried softreset, switching flightmode on/off, using 'automatic' and 'manual' to select a network, removing SIM card, but nothing works? Right now, I can't receive any calls even tho people hear it like I'm just not anwsering my phone and the 'call' hardware button or the 'phone' button in the windows menu don't even open up the call screen where I can enter a number.
I only CID unlocked my device before I updated to the new rom so I am not sure if I needed to SIM unlock as well but I don't think so.
Can anyone help me out with this problem? Thanks in advance
anyone? I am beginning to think this is a serious problem... maybe my telephone is defect? :S Or do you think this is just a software problem?
try flashing it back to the old ROM
Can I just overwrite the 2.18 ROM with the older T-Mobile rom again? And if anyone else knows a better solution that does not require another rom 'update' please let me know!
Also, I've found out that a hard reset didn't work, in fact, I couldn't hardreset because when I needed to enter the Call key to confirm the reset, the key just didn't work... :?
Okay, after downgrading again to the T-Mobile 1.6 rom the phone seems to get a signal again? How can it be that the new QTek rom doesn't get a signal but the old T-Mobile rom does? I DID CID unlock the device, and altho I am unsure if it worked, I assume it did, since the QTek install went flawlessly. I did NOT do a sim unlock, but I figured that wasn't needed since I would stick to T-Mobile anyway?
Sorry man, I've no idea. The main thing is that you now know that there is nothing wrong with your hardware.
If the radios are different versions I guess you could try keeping the old radio and updating everything else.
Good luck.
On the ftp there is a tmobile file voor connection settings

Multiline icon to disable???

may i please you to recover a fckin secret how to get rid of that stupid multiline icon on today screen??? I really really cant find it. thanks a lot.
what multi-line icon?
Picture
Sorry, please find enclosed screen capture... thank you- i cant nothing after searching web, forum and registry in device... probably am blind
Have you got two numbers?
just 1
No i have just one number- this icon appeared immediately after first time phone installation. In phone settings there is a tab for it but i can just choose line 1 or 2, there is no other choice in that tab.
idea
Well i tried to look into SIM manager appl and in tools I can find "list of Own numbers" tool. In that are listed Voice line 1 and 2 and Data. But even if there is an erase option I cant dismiss line 2 (it looks like i can erase just information included in an option
What network are you with?
I would guess that they can disable line 2 with a sim update
Vodafone but device is HTC (not rebranded for vodafone...)
So its either something in the HTC rom... or its your sim thinking it has two lines. If its the latter, I am sure Voda can send it an update to clear the second line.
Just tried the following: went to HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIN\RIL\ALSService and changed the value from 1 to 0. Icon in the upper bar disappeared, but after a soft reset it´s there again.
I do have 2 different lines from my provider, however my second line has never worked on any PPC device.....and doesn´t on the TyTNII either - just showing that annoying symbol....
Sorry, i don't know how to get rid of that but i am searching for ages for the ALS support in WM5 Pocket PC Edition.
My carrier is E-Plus and they don't get it to work to enable the bit on the SIM card for ALS.
So every phone os which supports ALS normally checks the SIM card, thinks ALS is not supported and doesn't show the menu to switch the line.
That is very annoying.
In the smartphone edition you can "force" ALS by manually changing the reg key HKLM\System\State\Phone "MultiLineCapabilites" to "1".
I thought ALS is not supported at all in the Pocket PC edition.
I wonder if just exchanging the TAPI Provider (cell tsp) can do the trick.
Hi,
you were right - I tried that option without effect. Nevertheless thank you 4 help.
Same problem here =( Did you find any solution? Right now i think it is first: possible to find the icon in a dll and remove it, the second: To install Wisbar, though both of those are not very handy.
This thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=346431 , might help you figure out what is going on. Good luck.

Ye, thanks, I know the cause, but the problem is, that "1" sign is shown even when only one line is used, but though second is supported. My cell operator does provide this feature, but I do not use it. So thats why it is actually annoying - just consuming space.
Second Line....
try using the # key depressed until line changes and dial out, you'll be shocked u have 2 lines, 2 numbers.... the issue will start when u try to dial ur second number... however u'll probably find you can text to it... it just wont accept incoming calls to it...
htc diamond fully support the multiline facility...

Help - SMS won' work and O2 have no solution atm.

Got my ignito the other day and realised yesterday that I haven't received any texts. The girlfriend also asked why I hadn't replied to her messages, and when I tried to send a message it comes up with:
Your text cannot be sent, check service center address in settings

Have looked through the settings and cannot find anywhere where to input the service centre number for O2. Also tried t O2 and O2 service settings programs in the program list, and they have problems connecting to retrieve any settings. Also on the O2 customer forum other people don't seem to have this problem.
Also have called customer services and even they are a bit unaware and wern't even in the know that this phone had been released. The data service guy over there hasn't even got any settings to push to the phone and has gone off to look for some.
Any ideas ?
Edit: The technical guy talked me through going into strat->settings and the phone area, then clicking on services and the 'voice mail and text messages' then retriving the settings to get to the message centre number. But when i do this the error thrown up says:
Cannot read settings from the network, try viewing settings later or disconnect data connection and try again.

Tried taking out battery and a hard eset and nothing has helped. The only thin I have done to the phone is update to HARD-SPL but have not flashed a custom ROM yet. Could this be the problem at all, as I didn't test the SMS before updating this ?

Might not help but have you tried removing sim and replacing?

Ye the customer service guy got me to do that, and reset, but still the same. Just tried it again and still nothing. Will try my friends SIM card in the ignito to make sure it isn't my old SIM card.
Just managed to send an MMS to someone on the desk next to me at work, so just seems like MMS. Fiddling with different settings in the MMS, like gateway number ports etc, and MMS still works with a number of possible settings but no SMS.
Really hope I didn't screw it up with the HARD SPL, but will try other versions of that tonight.
Cleaned the SIM and nothing, plus a big thing I CAN RECEIVE TEXTS, but still can't send them. But in the phone settings area I can connect to the network for all the other options like call barring, caller ID, call forwarding, and call waiting, just not the voicemail and SMS option.
Lol comedy of errors.
start>settings>connections>advanced network
SMS Tab
there will be 4 possible settings here.
I sugest you try each of them, with a powercycle between each attempt just for good measure.
I had this on T-Mobile - the Sim didn't input the settings on install.
Go to phone > menu > options > services > voice and text settings and click get settings, you can try to input the service centre if it isn't there or wrong.
Cheers for that boys but still no luck. Tried all the GSM GPRS settings in the SMS tab and still the same.
ericson68, tried that lots the day I realised i was having text problems, plus the guy on the phone from O2 got me to try that, but as soon as i click on the SMS/voicemail settings tab it rejects it and says unable to contact. All other tabs on there can be conected to, like call baring etc, just the texts one which is screwed.
O2 have offered to give me a new one when a courier comes to collect the old one. only problem is my billing address is my parents house where the box is, so have to send the phone back to them tomorrow through our royal fail post system. Special delivery time I think.
Could the hard SPL upgrade have affected this in anyway, Im still running the ROM that came with it though ?
Just out of interest if you do a hard reset and then insert the sim do you get a notification asking to set up o2, or is your phone o2 branded?

The phone is O2 branded and has O2 software on it as well.
I have just hard reset it without the SIM card in and it installs some O2 things going through the progress bar, and also brings up a page to do with O2 GPRS settings and automatically configuring it.
another try

Hi
Is it possible to type in the number and tap ok. That should initiate the phone/network with the message center number..
If there is a number there, what number is it?

Change the SIM card
Hi,
if you search the forum you will see that several people have the same problem, including myself...
Anyways, only solution (so far) is to change the SIM card. So just change your SIM card with your provider and it should work (this is probably free or really cheap anyways, you keep the same number etc.).
I have an unlocked Diamond and the same problem. Only my SIM card with Telenor provider does not work. Other Telenor cards work and also cards from different provider work.
So just change the SIM card and it should work (some people already tried it and it worked, I am too lazy to go to the store, but I will do it soon. until then I have another SIM card (different number) which works fine)
Cheers!
was this number ported to o2, or was it a new contract?
i had the same problem in the first 24 hours, worked fine after that.
Hey
Sorry didn't reply. Just after my last post I tried a friends SIM card at work and it worked fine, so must be my old sim card (5 yrs). My contract was an upgrade and have been with O2 for those 5 yrs.
New card on way to me now, thanks for all the help !
Custom ROM time this weekend

Cannot change network settings

I have HTC Touch Diamond on Orange PAYG.
I have had this sim for a while now in this and iPAQ 614c and everything works OK. However I seem to be missing calls due to it going to answer phone after a short period. I therefore tried to change this without success. I get the message" unable to save settings, try again later or turn off data connection" .
Tried both with no luck
Any ideas
Rick

Unable too make phonecalls

I found a HTC S730 and I have updated the ROM to WM 6.1 (Alc) But I cannot make any phonecalls or recieve any and I cannot recieve or send text messages. I have taken the phone to a local phone shop and he said the phone has been blocked, this is a very nice phone and I would like to use it too make calls, is there any way I can make the phone features work again?
Thanks in advance
Sammy
I suppose you are able to switch it on and get into home screen right? So, are you able to navigate through menus etc...? If you put a SIM card what happens? Is the phone able to find and log onto the network? Give more technical details. Not just conclusions of your tryings.
or as your last chance you could hard reset your phone, or flash another rom...
I think his radio is dead. Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to get into writing SMS and then trying to send those, and failing... If the phone was locked, it wouldn't allow him to get into GUI or Home Screen. Or it would say that the SIM card is not accepted (locked to a specific network).
if it is Operator locked he need a SIM UNLOCK, but don't know if it is work for the wings...
Okay sorry about the lack of technical information. When I found the phone it had a password so I performed a hard reset by holding the two soft keys and pressing the power button, I then flashed the ROM to Alc's WM 6.1 . I inserted a T-Mobile sim card and on the phones home screen it says 3G T-Mobile and there is clearly signal but the phone will not make any calls or send text messages, is there anything I can do?
So what happens exactly when you press the Call button? Does it give any error message? Or it just doesn't do anything?
It looks like its about to ring then it just makes a beeping sound and says 'call ended' ive tried all sorts of different sims all with the same outcome.
When you brought it to the phone shop they told you the phone had been blocked, that possibly means the IMEI number of the phone is blocked so no sim would work in it.
Have a read of this
Code:

I never experienced IMEI blocked phones. However, if you can't make it work, there is one possibility. You can send it to me and I can try it here.
