I couldn't find (search) how to disable the image resizing that happens when an image captured with the Kaiser camera happens on the camera side, or email side. I took some images, browsed for them, then emailed them to Flickr. The images were resized to a paltry 480x360. Far from the 3MP resolution that I was expecting.
Is the image resizing happening with the email client or the camera? And how to disable?
i am able to access that setting menu by opening an image off my storage card and then clicking "menu" and then "options" and it brings me to the file resize menu where you can select the resize options and you can set this to "original size"

If I go into the photo applet and select a photo to email, the photo is resized and all EXIF data is stripped out. I use the GPS Photo feature and don't want this to happen. Is there a way to change that behavior? Thanks!
Yes, of course
Open any Picture in the File explorer > Menu > Options > Look at the first option.

duhhh..... thanks!
Awesome, was just wondering this myself. I e-mailed a photo to flickr but it made it 640x480 and tossed away the EXIF data.. what kind of crap photo resizing is that??? (maybe it's scripted mspaint actions lol)
thanks for the info!

i have pictures to some of my contacts.
in the contacts tab they look very blury.
what is the best resolution for this function?
the best are 256x256 pixels, because builtin rom pictures of unknown callers has the same resolution
However, when in Contact Picture mode, the built in camera takes 240 x 320 pixels pictures, so I would gather this is more appropriate?
Try 240x240.
non of those, tried all.
I'm using 480*640 for favourite people... Beautiful and very crisp...
If you sync contact pictures from outlook you can change it from Favourite people screen soft "menu" key..
I use many size, dependin on what picture i have. Myself, I use resolution range from 98x98 to anything bigger.
Then the Trick is, you don't add picture at Outlook, but instead, add picture at TF3D contact. That will get make picture stay very clear and sharp.
I do found that, contact I add with picture resolution at 98x98 (or something around that, i have both 98x98, 99x98, etc) stays clear after I flash rom and need to re-add people. Bigger resolution picture i added that were sharp and clear; some became blury after re-add.

great!!! that works.
There is a much easier way of doing this than resizing. You don't have resize any picture. I had the same problem until I discovered this very straight forward way.
1. Go photos and videos section of the touchflo.
2. click on the image you want to add to the a particular contact.
3. click on the image again once it appears by itself.
4. click on the icon on the far right, the menu icon.
5. select Save to Contact.
6. Choose the contact you want to assign the picture to.
You will have a very crisp picture.
Another method is this:
1. Go to the people section of your touchflo.
2. Add the contact you want to have appear there.
3. It will prompt to add a picture to the contact.
4. select one.
This will also appear as crisp.
If you already have the contact there all you simply change the picture using the menu. That should do it.
Thank you - that indeed works and the 3d pictures look nice and crisp.
Beats me what strange algorithm is behind that, but as long as it works...
So I sent myself a jpg file and tried to open it on my phone. It opened in the photo album viewer evey time. It opened the whole album, and showed the thumbnail of all the pictures. If I clicked on this jpg file, it opened in the album's picture viewer (the one from the camera's photo album (the HTC one, says Camera Shots on the top, Album, and Menu at the bottom).
I could not figure out how to open it in anything else, and this particular file was not working out when trying to view it in that HTC album (it put it in landscape, and it was too small to read). It was actually a screen shot from my PC with some item numbers and stuff from a retailer's website, and I was about to go purchase said items.
I am using the NATF 5 AT&T Loaded Final ROM on my Tilt.
Anyone know a work around for this? Do I need to install some 3rd party jpg viewer or something? And if I do that, will it interfere with the HTC Album viewer?
couldn't you have zoomed in to see the picture? anyways install the attached file and then click and hold on the file then click 'Open With Program' choose 'Pictures and Videos' or whatever app you want to associate jpg files with and then check 'Associate selected Program with this file type' It should open
I can't see any way to zoom in with this album viewer. Maybe what I need to do is find another jpeg viewer.
its a gesture you move your finger in a full clock-wise circle on the image to zoom in
a full counter-clockwise circle zooms out
a half clock-wise circle rotates the picture clockwise 90 degrees
a half counter-clockwise circle rotates the picture counter-clockwise 90 degrees

Thank you, that did the trick! Got it rotated back to portrait, and zoomed in enough to read it.
That really helps me out, thanks a million!
As stated....
I take a picture in portrait mode....click the little button to view the picture i took (inside the camera app) and it saves the picture sideways in landscape mode.
But, when i go to the Gallery app to view the picture, it displays correctly in portrait mode. So if i try to upload to facebook or send as an MMS, it turns the picture back to Landscape mode and sends like that, even though it displayed correctly in the Gallery. Even if i try to save the photo with it rotated incorrectly (thinking that it would turn the correct way when i sent it or uploaded it) it still shows up incorrectly.
The only fix i have found is to go to Gallery, view the photo, crop the photo (you don't actually have to crop anything, just select the whole picture) with it in the correct orientation and it will save a new pic in the correct orientation.
Come on, there has to be a fix for why it saves the picture incorrectly. I shouldn't have to make a full picture crop everytime i want to upload a pic or send it via MMS.
bump....
is this a common topic or what??
Use vignette to take photos and justpictures as gallery replacement set resolution to high in just pictures...this will keep photos sharper when zooming and cropping. The stock gallery app plain stinks
Swyped.....you may have to interpret
Is there any way to change the megapixel setting the camera shoots? Some of the pictures I take could have smaller file sizes.
When you open the camera app open the settings by placing your finger on the left side of the screen and drag it to the right. Then you will see the settings menu and select the rectangle with the L to chose from widescreen (15.5mp) or Standard (21mp). Those are the only options I am aware of with the stock camera app. The Lenovo one mentioned here is much better. I use version 3.6.7 with the call/sms/contact etc permissions and the popup and the QR-scanner removed This is a good explanation of the different sizes.
