everything seems to be working really well, aside from the fact i cant get the gps to work. I can't get the internet working for any programs is there a setting i'm missing or should I just do a hard reset? what will happen when I do a hard reset? will I have to reflash or anything like that? oh yeah, i also use at&t as a carrier. don't know if i need to know to do anything special because of that.
Why dont you ask in the ROM thread? You might get some response there.
damn bro, you gonna get some heat for lack of forum ettiquette
you really ought to have searched that particular thread first, and then maybe post in there seeking help. never ever create a whole thread just for a question....imagine if this whole place was full of little threads like this...i bet you wouldn't be happy
you're also being too vague, but when you flash, always do a hard reset after you're done flashing. in general, hard resets will kill all the data on the phone and gives you a fresh start as if you had just bought the phone. internet settings for AT&T, i don't know, but look up the data settings or something with the SEARCH button
sorry i rode the little bus growing up. how do i delete this thread?

GPS - Read the FAQ
Internet Sharing takes a while to connect with your PC, but it works.
Hard Reset restores your phone back to the original custom ROM state...it's basically like re-flashing the same ROM version.
THis is what happened...
Yesterday, my brother gave me his old Htc Dream, because he bought the Hero (that bastard)...i dont have Data Plan, my mother have a Blackberry Data Plan, i tried it on my phone, but it didnt worked...
Today i decided to make a hard reset to replace my brother's google account and use mine....after the reset, the phone asked for my Google Account, i provided the user and pass, but...well, as you have guessed:
no data plan = no validation of the account = locked phone
I have made some research trough the Net, and found some interesting threads, but, as you know, in order to by-pass this screen, i need to have installed RC29 or older....but my phone have RC30 or later...i can tell beacuse when i type <enter>reboot<enter> on the "Click ont he android" screen, nothing happens...so...im in trouble...
Any suggestions? It is possible to downgrade to RC29 and then root with the phone like this?
Thx for reading

It's been awhile since I've been on a hero build so I personally can't tell you, but every person has there own opinion on which one is the best. The best thing I can tell you is to try them out or wait for someone that uses hero and can tell you. I haven't used that guide but here is a great guide.

and theres a couple other guides on the site to that you can look at to see which one you want to use.
hi guys
my phone is bricked from the update to 2.2.
i cannot get the phone into the download mode; so i guess i just have to get it into service.
what info can be recovered there?
it's not that i need to recover anything (fortunately) ... but, to be honest, the phone has logging info for my email accounts, emails, notes, stuff i wouldn't really want to share
can this be recovered by a specialist?
thank u!
did you use kies to update if you did its still under warrenty
used kies, i don't think there is going to be a problem getting the phone fixed.
was just asking if the guys in service could get to the data stored in the phone
i have emails, passwords, stuff i would prefer not to be recevered by someone else!
if it's fully bricked, then there is no way to format the phone to remove your personal info
the guys at the service center with their JTAG machines could recover those files when they fix the phone.
most time they wouldn't care, the'll just go ahead and flash a new ROM and wipe everything
but there is always the chance of an evil tech lurking around to seek for personal info to use for whatever devils plans they have in mind.
thank you allgamer
thought so ... that's why i kept trying to restart it.
tried bunch of button combinations, but i'm not able to put it in download mode
Hi i have searched the forum but not found, i think my web browser is messing me around as every time i try and search it gives me an error.
Basically I'm selling my tab, so to avoid problems in the future i want to put it back to stock. It was originally a UK unlocked tab with no network touching it.
Can someone either explain what i need to do, or forward me to the correct post?
Thanks for your help
Just reset your Tab to stock in settings and erase contents of SD card.
Have you ever thought that maybe someone out there prefers to buy a modified Tab? Consider the fact that for some, it's not easy to replace the FW/ROM.. If you're lucky, you might even get a few extra for the custom ROM.
Do you have a cdma or gsm tab? Procedure is a bit different.
