How can I type a semicolon quickly using the keyboard? At least on my Norwegian keyboard, only the colon is available (using Fn+Windows key).
Now I'm using the "symbols" menu and entering the semicolon from there - which is somewhat cumbersome.

Hi to all,
I am just curios if I set Russian keyboard on my device, how can I use it. I put "Locale" key in "HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\" branch, set string to 0419 (Russian keyboard), shotdown the device, wait 10 seconds. Switch it on, make soft reset, open Word and type using HW keyboard - no efect. I still typing latin symbols instead of cyrillic ones. When however I did that exercise for German keyboard I notice swap of "y" and "z" symbols. Any ideas why this tweak works for German layout, but not for Russian?
Thanks in advance
this setting just makes using cyrillic possible. To switch keyboard layout, press dot button and then [,.] button (right from space bar).
better try to instal resco keybord with bulgarian phonetic
Is it possible to change the keyboard so that it doesn't have capitals when pressing the keys long, but only by using shift?
Basically all i want to know is how the heck do you bring up the numeric keypad when i go to my alarms and click the input box to change the alarm it comes up with a nifty numeric pad with huge keys all i want to know is how do you manually bring this pad up because most of my passwords are number based and its difficult pressing those teeeeney little buttons. I am using "better keyboard" now and it has a numeric pad also and so does every other keyboard i used so hopefully theres a way. I included 3 pictures, one is better keyboard numeric pad, then android kb numeric pad, then reg keyboard with numbers
you can just install the HTC IME keyboard and you can switch to the numbered keyboard. but its not only for the alarm app, its for anywhere in the phone.

Click to collapse
Using Better Keyboard, press the 123? button, then press the <> button, bingo.
Has anyone else had troubles installing a foreign language keyboard on the NC? Here are my symptoms:
- I am able to install them just fine
- In NookColorTools I am able to see and change to the new keyboard
- When I enter a text field the keyboard pops up fine.
+ BUT When I click to type the Keyboard simply minimizes / disappears
I have tried about every app out there and there is no inherent one. Almost all have the same issue with disappearing. Here is a Summary:
Simeji (the one I want working most) : Any function key, space, enter causes keyboard to minimize
OpenWnn plus : minimizes on any button push
OpenWnn : minimizes on any button push
Simeji classic : minimizes again.
MultiLing Gingerbread Keyboard Buttons work, but holding in letters (for more letters) shows no values in the popup
Very Easy Japanese Keyboard: WORKS... But the input interface is not very easy (ironic)
Google Pinyin IME WORKS completely... BUT its Chinese not Japanese :X
Now I have a million keyboards (probably missing one or two) which I can't uninstall because there doesn't seem to be a way.. and none of them work. Any ideas?
Right now, it's a pain to switch keyboard input to something else, enter in an accented character, and finally switching back to Asus keyboard.
Is there other ways to input symbols and characters not on the keyboard?
Yes there is

the part you're probably interested in is the "dead" keys
Oh, I didn't see that post.
Unfortunately, I can't do it, since it requires root. And I currently do not want to root.
The default "dead" keys do not require root. That is built into android and is default.
For example to get any letter with an Acute accent type ALT + e and then a letter. It will place the acute accent over it.
To get the Circumflex accent type ALT + i and then any letter and you will get it over the next letter that you type.
No root required.
