Unlocking phone with PIN, how to change how it works? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

On my old Wizard, when I put in a pin to unlock the phone, it would unlock when I put in my pin, it would unlock when I hit the last correct digit in the pin. Now, with the Kaiser, I have to type in the pin and manually hit unlock, which is a big pain.
Is there a way to change this? I've searched for unlock and all I get are threads about CID unlocking.

Enter Pin?

Why when you boot your phone you always have this "enter pin" screen? How can I get rid of this? I've unlocked my phone quite some time ago....This might be a dumb question but i've searched by "enter pin" or "phone pin" or "pin" and I cannot find an answer.
You have a PIN on your SIM card. Go into the Settings->Phone->PIN/PIN2 screen and uncheck the box. You will need to put in your PIN to remove it from the SIM card.
Yup, Genesis3 is right,
You might have set a PIN on your sim card.

Unlock pin question (For those who use an unlocked G1)

I ordered my G1 and I was planning on giving someone my IMEI # and get the unlock pin. My question is, once I do that, do I have to enter the pin in every time I reboot the phone? Or do I enter it once and it's permanently unlocked?
If someone could clear this up I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks,

It will be permantly unlocked
Wonderful!
I keep seeing all these youtube videos of people showing there tmobile sim then swap it for something, then unlock it. It just looks like you do it after every reboot or sim change
And I was really hoping I dont need to tape a piece of paper with my pin on it to the battery, lol.
Anyways, thanks for clearing this up!
They might be putting there sim code in which is different from the unlock code. But just like any phone you unlock, once you unlock it it's unlocked.

Click to collapse
BTW, you didnt say whether you were or not, but if you're planning on PAYING for the unlock code, you may not have to. T-Mobile usually will e-mail you the code upon request as long as you are a customer in good standing for I believe 90+ days

[Pin Security] 10 Strikes & you're [wiped] out

Can this be disabled?
Kids could easily do this by accident or even someone having a laugh.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
The PIN code is on the SIM card, not the phone (you may already know that) - the phone itself doesn't know your pin. The phone sends the PIN entry to the SIM card and the SIM card will either say "Accepted" and unlock, or it will fail and remain locked.
After 10 (usually) failed attempts, the SIM will lock itself. You can Unlock it by using the PIN Unlock Code (PUK). This is NOT the PIN code, it's called a PUK code. You may be able to obtain this code from your carrier / operator.

[q] after i network unlocked. It locked back up. Help.

I purchased a used Incredible S and when I purchased an unlock code online I was able to network unlock the phone. 2 days later it failed to read my simcard anymore, did it lock back up? It doesn't give me the option to enter an unlock pin like the first time I unlocked it, so how can I check if the phone is still unlocked? or how can I input my unlock code again if it needs it again? HELP
Also, the sim card still works fine in my old phone so it isnt the sim.
