Extrom from Kaiser? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Does the HTC Kaiser have a extended rom?
How can i access it?

hi, pls do a search. if you did already, you will know that:
1) tytn2 do not have an ex_rom
2) in that case you do not need to unlock it
cheers

Do you have any idea how to extract my t-mobile germany customisation pack from my PDA? Is the Cab file stored in any specific directory.

use resco explorer and unhide rom and hidden files. then you should find all the files in \windows directory including customization *.cab files

THX! Found it

Dutch dictionary

Does anyone has the dutch T9 dictionary for the to be used with the new K-JAM WWE ROM? Thanks!
is "Dutch" not an option in the drop-down list for the Phone Pad SIP languages tab?
This is the solution for using a Dutch dictionary in Word, SMS etc:
In this zip file 3 files are included:
dictprob.dat, statdict.dat and mssp2_nl.lex
Copy them to the \Windows dir and replace existing files.
(Maybe backup them first)
Change in the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Spell Check]
"Main_Dict"="\Windows\mssp2_nl.lex"
restart your Wizard
enjoy!
Thanks, but.... Cannot copy the file to my MDA. The file is read only and I'm unable to change the permissions..
extract the files on your pc, copy them to the wizard somewhere eg \my documents.
Then on the wizard use a filemanager eg Total Commander to copy them to the \windows directory.

That worked. Thanks again!
a tiny bump but just wanna say thanks cause this works for wm6 too
I've tried installing this, but my S200 keeps using the english files. According to Total Commander, the original files are ROM files and when I remove them al together, the original files will be back after a reboot.

Autoconfig - where do the setup files need to be?

I installed Helmi's most recent ROM and really liked the features and speed but needed to downgrade to the Tmobile UK version as I need Blackberry Connect. I would like to use the Autoconfig.cab that was included in Helmi's most recent ROM but when I put this cab in my extended_rom directory and run the program it can't find the various telkom setting files. I tried a directory named Operator below my Extended_ROM directory and in the actual Extended_ROM directory but the autoconfig program does not find them. I tried editing the autoconfig file to remove the reference to the storage card but this didn't seem to help.
Anyone tell me where the autoconfig program is expecting to find the cfg files?

Extract files from Extended rom (on the PC)

I've extracted the nk.nbf file from O2's upgrade Rom, and have then extracted the following files:
80040000-OS_0.nb
9b000000-Extension.nb
96000000-GSM_0.nb
91000000-SPL_1.nb
etc...
Now i know that the cab files i want exist within the 9b000000-Extension.nb file (as i am guessing that this is the Extended Rom). But i can't figure out how to extract the cab files (or all the files) from within in it.
I've searched around, and it's helped me get this far, but i can't seem to figure out how to get past this point. Can anyone tell me how to do this on my PC.
Many thanks.
I know someone in here can give me a quick answer to this one. All i want to do is get some cab files out of an O2 extended rom file on my computer (i can't use the extended rom unlocker on my pocket pc because i am currently using the crossbow OS, which doesn't include the O2 extended rom).
Thanks for any help.
If you are using orwell's wm6 your extended rom is probably still on your phone unless you wiped it off.
look for a software called winimage & load the extrom.nb file then u will see the contents.

1. You must be seeing a folder \ExtROM here which has few cabs and tsk files. Place this folder on \Storage Card of your device.
2. You can add the files which you wish to autoinstall after hard reset to this folder. But, dont forget to modify the \Storage Card\ExtROM\Config.txt accordingly.
3. Mark all cab files as read only.
You now have the Extended ROM back on your device but on the storage card this time.... Enjoy.
4. Install PPCPimbackup utility by Dotfred on your existing ROM and backup your SMS using that. And then flash the new ROM.The utility is available in this folder also.

Hi C_shekhar,
I have two questions in upgrading your ROM and the ExtROM
1) How to do this step ->Mark all cab files as read only
2) Can i flash the ROM first, the copy all ExtROM files to the SD card, and then do a Hardreset -> i have done this but seems not work.
Thank you.
you can mark the files read only using a file explorer utility like resco explorer. and as long as u add the appropriate entries to config.txt whenever u hard reset the cabs will get installed.
n btw im sorry im not c_shekhar but i think the answers correct

thank you very much for your quick reply.
now i have reflashed the ROM and the ExtROM works now.
I am wondering why we have to hide the files in the ExtROM folder, as i found all CAB files still there after the installing.
another question: can we hide teh ExtROM folder not the files inside?
Thanks.
yeah sure again that could be done with resco file explorer or something similar... although i dont think hiding is one of the requirements. the only thing required is marking them readonly.

Is there a way to extract a cab file from an installed ROM?

In the old days, there was no problem accessing the ext ROM and copying every cab file. I understand that the situation is different with the Diamond. Is there any similar way to do that? I don't have the ROM installation file (and can't get it anywhere), but I just want a certain cab file it installs..
To whom that might be interested, it seems that those cab files are located in the \Windows directory.
